My mom doesn't typically like me to buy her stuff. She likes me to make her stuff, write a sweet note/ card & give her pictures. If I gave her an expensive gift at the wedding, I don't think she'd be too thrilled. But, I know she will be expecting pictures.

I knew about that site (I think Jenn ordered from there, or someone did) but I am just nervous now, cuz the hibiscus ones I ordered already looked pretty real online, but in person, they are ridic fake looking. The hair flower has been the hardest for me too. I walk around campus looking at all the pretty spring flowers thinking, "how would that look in my hair?"
  4. too big! It might work better if your hair is down or fuller.
  5. I have a pic of my with a 5 inch gerber daisy on my head. It's too big. mostly because it is to flat. brb.. I'll post the pic
  6. The first time I was a BM, I was 18 when we were picking out the dresses. I begged the bride to not pick out a strapless dress. I was so uncomfortable in strapless back then. We went shopping together & I was able to show her what I felt uncomfortable in. Strapless bras were not as good then & I had to have some padding. I'm now comfortable in just about any BM dress, but I'm not self consious like I was back then. I'm sure I was annoying because I was really stressed out about the style of the dress. It's hard to put your insecurities away when you've had them so long, especially when you will be up in front of so many people & in so many pictures. BTW, I love that dress. have you thought about picking a color at DB & letting the girls get the dress they want? my eliminate some of your problems. Unless all the other girls want that same one. That might look odd. It either needs to be mixed up, or all the same. Not one odd ball.
  7. I think a nice thank you card is great. I'm not getting my parents big wedding gift. I'm going to have an nice thank you card in their OOT bag. I'm also making hankerchiefs. The main reason why I'm not giving them a big gift at the wedding is because I'd rather make them coffee table books with the pictures after the wedding. That's something I know they will enjoy.
  8. So funny. Spooning your dog. Did your FI sleep on the couch?
  9. very elegant. We also get to see your wedding necklace on you. It looks great!
  10. I knew it was coming up, but I feel like she just snuck off to Mexico. I can't wait to hear all about it. When is she coming back?
  11. I always tell people where it came from so they can buy some too. It's great to find new stuff you like. The only time I "lie" is if I buy an obviously store bought cake still in the box. I'll say I baked it from scratch. Joke never gets old Where does this dip come from? I need to try it.

They have it at whole foods & stores like that. It says "biodegradable." It's important when you are somewhere with coral reefs. You can also find it online.

When I got them in the mail (less than a week, I think) altho they looked nice, they were very very thin, soft cover books. Like less than 1/4 inch thick, the cover (front&back) was no thicker than 100lb weight cardstock. The quality is very good, pics crisp and clear and true to color, but the book itself was just not what I was expecting! For $3.24 each tho, who can complain?! I haven't ordered mine yet so I didn't know. That's too bad. I think it will still be nice for a little gift for my gma. The 8x8 books have a hard cover. You can also put a big picture on the front.

  16. a red triangle or square pops up if it's too low res on shutterfly to warn you. You can put it in a smaller frame & see if you can still use it.
  17. I'd use them. Otherwise you'd be up to $1000 for bags. Can you post a picture? Your guests will probably think they look great.
  18. If they say "low res" they will probably not look good. They only put up that warning when it's really low. I think 5x7 books would be good for BM gifts unless you have a lot of pictures to use. Also, that way you can make them smaller so the resolution isn't a problem. If you look on ebay, you can probably find cheap codes for 5x7 books that expire 3/31. They are for shutterfly though.

I'm having a lot of fun flipping through them. They are full of so many silly pictures of my friends. I can't wait to watch them open it.

I think I will end up having an intimate dinner/shower for the important women in my life who can't come to the wedding (and those who are) but not call it a shower. The way I see it, people who want to get you a gift will get you one, shower or not. I agree. Just don't call it a shower. As long as it's not an event where people feel required to bring a gift, I think it's fine to invite whoever.

I looked pretty silly with red lipstick & my PJs. I want to try it for a longer time, but it worked pretty good last night. It did sting a little when I put it on.
