  1. OH I need to post an update. I was going for the option with blue on the wall & first part of the ceiling & orange on the trey part. I was still really unsure about the orange & planned on painting to closets orange first to get a feel for if it would be too bright. So after doing the blue, I loved how it contrasted with the bright white. Makes me feel like I'm in greece. Not the carribean, but still beach front. Here is a peak into the orange closet. I did two in the bathroom We ordered a dark wood bed, white duvet cover & blue sheets. I wanted orange, but I couldn't find orange sheets. I'm thinking about doing dark bamboo roman shades for the windows. If I ever find the right orange curtains or fabric (without it being so expensive) I'll put up orange curtains. I found fabric I like, but it would be about $60 to get enough for the curtains. The bed will not have a headboard. I want to make one eventually. Maybe something like this, but in white. It was once a room divider Now we just need a beautiful vacation picture to print as a canvas wrap & the room is done. We should have the bed early next week. I can't wait to move in to the new master bedroom.
  2. but we have this who could want more? I see what you mean, though. We have and in there twice but not But that is because we only feel around here or if we are really happy it's .
  3. vistaprint is the cheapest. They are not the higest quality, but they are nice. I like the vistaprint postcards over a photo thin card. With vistaprint, you have to get the sale price, because it's always on sale. I use this link www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog. You can also google "vistaprint coupons" & find lots. I did the standard postcards for my STDs & every years holiday card since then. I always pick slow shipping & the order arrives in a week or two. 100 postcards will run about $10 shipped if you upload your own image.
  4. I wanted to be the first to show up, but mostly because I wanted to scope the place out so I was ready to show our guests around. I was really hoping no one booked to arrive before us, but if it was someone interested in helping that could have worked great. I felt a lot of pressure to scope the whole place out to be able to give our guests tips when they arrived. We were only there a day before everyone else arrived. Why not take them up on the offer & give them tasks to do? I would have liked it if another couple offered to be the go to people for answering questions about the hotel stuff. It gets exausting when everyone keeps asking you how to make reservations, etc. We just planned a family trip to hawaii. Everyone was supposed to arrive on the same day with some people staying longer than others. My SIL got a great deal to arrive two days earlier & just couldn't pass it up. Sometimes you just plan your trip around the fares.
  5. Jessica, I like this one. I'm not sure why I didn't try that combo before The colors are a little off. I already shut down photoshop so I didn't open everything back up to get it just right.
  6. OK here is another question for everyone. I am going to paint the master bedroom & bathroom next week. I'd like to do a soft teal color with orange accents. I am using my fiesta ware as inspiration for the home colors. I'm using an orange two shades lighter than the plate, but the blue is about the same The master bedroom has a tray ceiling. I'm trying to decide if I want to paint it & if I do I'm not sure what colors to put where here it is now And a bunch of color options I am thinking about doing the same colors in the master bath. I can also bring in a beige/neutral and just do colors for accent walls. I am pretty sure I want the closets and the wall up high to be orange. I don't know if I'd do the rest blue or beige. I want color, but I also don't want to over do it & have it look weird. The rooms are kind of tricky because there are so many different walls. I'm going for a beachy, caribbean feel. The furniture will be dark wood. We'll have just a bed + TV in the master with the dressers in the closet. All the furniture we have now will go in our guest room, so we are getting to start from scratch with the master.
  7. We just bought our first home & we are redoing the flooring. Currently it has old carpet. We are going to carpet the bedrooms next week & tile the rest of the house in a few months. I'm trying to decide where all we want carpet. We are definitly doing carpet in the master bedroom & then tile in the master bath. Inside the master bath is a walk-in closet. I'm not sure if I want carpet or tile in there. We are going to put the electric radiant heat pads under the tile in the bathroom. We could extend that into the closet which might be really nice. You could step out of the shower to a heated floor that warms you up & then remain warm while getting dressed in the closet. I imagine the closet will serve as a dressing area, because all of our dressers & clothes will be inside it. There is a heat/ac vent in the closet, so it would not be icy-cold if we did carpet & no heat. I'm pretty unsure what to do so I thought I'd post here for some feedback. I'm working on figuring out the difference in cost for tile vs carpet in the closet. Thanks! Here is a picture taken from inside the master bedroom
  8. Those pictures are so cool! What a great way to make up for not getting the wedding pictures you wanted. I wish he would have made you put your arm up for a few just for old times sake
  9. Oh & I didn't read through the entire post on slickdeals, but it looks like people figured out the rebate deal was legit, because it was posted on the front page of slickdeals as $26. One great thing about slickdeals, is people test a deal out to see if it's good so you can buy with more confidence. Only the best makes the front page.
  10. just saw this on slickdeals.net & thought people would be interested. Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows $26 after $20 MIR - SlickDeals.net Forums newegg is a great company so don't be worried about ordering from them. my husband does all the time. maybe a little too much. This is a great price on photoshop elements 8.
  11. on a normal night or weekend, we just do our own thing. We both like space. But when he is gone I sort of fall apart. It took me a while to notice the pattern. I get super messy, eat weird stuff & can't sleep. I also tend to get wrapped up in a ridiculous project. Now that I know that's how I get when he is gone, it doesn't bother me so much. The time apart is worth it for that first warm hug. I call it the "airport hug" but it can happen after a car trip, too.
  12. When I'm ready to try to conceive I'm not postponing it for anyone. It can take a long time. I'd never want a friend to wait on the count of my wedding & then have difficulties getting pregnant after. Sure, it may have been just as hard before, but there is always that feeling of "what if we just tried last year." A really good friend of mine got pregnant 6 months before my wedding. I was thrilled. Sure, I missed her being there, but I LOVE her little girl. It doesn't take a big group to make a DW fun. I just had more time to spend with the people who did make it.

Thanks for all your help and awesome ideas girl! I did this one in a 16x20. I like putting something large on the wall where we are only a small piece of the picture. I think that palm picture would be perfect large. I'm picturing us taking something like that in hawaii & having it be the focal point of our living room. You can get canvas wraps at mpix.com. Critsey probably sells them, too.
  14. i got so sidetracked on the underwater one, I forgot to say how much i love the last picture witht he two palm trees. That one would look amazing huge on the wall.

Two of my friends got in the water in their dresses & one kept sinking, so the dress does have a lot to do with the ease of swimming. Ironically it was the mermaid style that was so hard to swim in I spent all day every day in a pool as a kid & was a swimmer in high school so I just loved twirling around underwater in my dress. I just looked at underwater pictures on flickr for a while after posting those. There is something so magical about being underwater. I'm doing an anniversary shoot this june in hawaii. I should see if that photographer has an interest in underwater.

  17. Ok i just looked through to see which ones I'd be comfortable posting online & they are all just my face. I'm not much help My favorite set in her gallery is "sultry" Couture Boudoir by Photographer Critsey Rowe | New York | Chicago | San Francisco | Charlotte | Charleston | Paris | Atlanta | Miami She did make me feel really comfortable about the pictures being safe. I got to initial off on any way the images would be used. I opted for just for showing potential clients with nothing online. I just didn't feel the same level of trust with a different photographer I worked with that she'd respect my privacy the same way. I think with boudoir it's really important to feel comfortable with who you hire & not have to worry that they'd ever use your images in a way you don't want or be careless with how they deal with them. Critsey definitly has things organized for boudoir to make you feel comfortable. I really wanted to do underwater boudoir, but I guess there isn't any beautiful, clear water around here. I did underwater wedding pictures & it was such a blast.
  18. oops I see my gallery has been removed. It has been a long time. I can post some safe ones on BDW. I don't think I ever got around to doing that.

  20. Wow! I saw your pics on facebook & just loved that underwater one. Critsey did my boudoir pictures. I agree, she is great.

She is super creative and is looking for the instructions on how to do this. When she gets back to me, I'll post it for you! Does the paper blow away? Then you are just tossing trash into the ocean.
  22. im watching it now. i just don't enjoy the show any more.
