Siggy Size Limits - PLEASE READ
rodent replied to TammyWright's topic in Bugs, issues or "how to" navigate forum questions.
Since your's is a square, you probably picked one of the set layouts (8x8, 10x10, or 12x12) Click custom instead & you'll see where to declare your size. -
Siggy Size Limits - PLEASE READ

new--> custom--> a box pops up where you can change your canvas size. to make it smaller now, you can lower the dpi you are exporting at. when you pick export, set your largest dimension @ 300. the other one will adjust too. -

Some are just planning to drive to Austin and then take the direct flight. Others are flying southwest to Austin ($88 RT) and then taking vivaaerobus the rest of the way. You can't beat vivaaerobus' fares...about $175 RT with taxes. Just know it is extremely low budget. You have to walk on the runway to get to the plane, you have to pay for a coke, water etc etc. But considering it is sooo cheap and everything else is sooo expensive, I think it's a great deal! And it's a reliable airline, very popular in Mexico. Same for me. That is why I picked RM. I was expecting things to be much cheaper for our guests. I'm glad I went with a cheap hotel too so at least that helped. Most guests paid $700-$800 for 3-4 nights from houston. Really not bad for everything included. But last summer you could get it for $500-$600. I just made it clear to my guests that airfare had gone up a lot & the trip was now $200+ more than we planned on. I emphasized that we do not expect anyone to go- only go if they had the money to spend on a vacation & wanted to. I'm thrilled with our 28 guests. It's really the number I wanted. You have to pay for your food on many of the major airlines now anyway. I wish vivaaerobus flew out of houston. have you checked to make sure it's 175 with the fees? there are a lot of fees.

I don't think so at all. This is what we are doing to. I ran it past some guests & they agreed it sounded good. Most said, "why would you pay for food when it's included?" The money I'm saving is allowing me to treat everyone to an excursion. Not that I think you have to do that if you don't pay for dinner. We were just able to swing it so I'm excited about that. Even if you do a private event, many guests assume the food was covered anyway. Sometimes there are size limits though. If you have too many guests you might have to pay.

I remember when fanny packs were cool (atleast I thought they were). I had a neon pink one that I wore everyday in 5th grade. It was full of candy. Ahh, to be a kid again.

3 of my friends flew to see me recently. We had such an amazing time we said we've got to do it again, but with everyone. So we planned to get together next summer at one girl's family beach house. If everyone is scattered all over, I think the best thing is to pick a place that is cheap to fly to (like a major vacation spot- Florida is always cheap). You can rent a house. It's so hard to find a weekend everyone can make. I think if you declair the weekend way in advance it's easier.

Keep anything you'd be bummed about losing on your person as much as possible. Going to eat? Bring your passport, cash, camera, etc. DO NOT think the safe is safe, sadly it just isn't. I think you're better off walking around a foreign city with $800 cash in a moneybelt than you are leaving it in your hotel safe. Btw *if possible* don't keep tons of cash handy if you don't need it right away. We had no problems using ATM's in PV, can't speak for other locales. Never ever, ever ever, leave anything of great value in your room. Period. Thieves know about the suitcases and the socks, and maybe even the books since a lot of people mention doing that too. It stinks that you have to go so far and it is certainly inconvenient. But, if you were making little to no $$ and people wealthy enough to travel left their valuables around when they weren't, your moral compass might break too! Better safe now than sorry later. Good luck everyone! Great tips. I have a thin moneybelt that you can wear under clothes. Just incase people are picturing a fanny pack. I'll have to look into a waterproof one. Have you ever had trouble with it leaking?

I didn't know they flew here either until we saw the flights on funjet.com. But right before mike's parents booked, there were no more ryan air flights to pick from & they were replaced by aeromexico. Now with seeing all the airlines canceling flights like frontier & ATA, I think we would have stuck with airlines like continental if possible. I'm just waiting for these 2 months to go by hoping no ones flight gets canceled.

Hyperpigmentation Anyone?

My FI hates fake tanning so I haven't gone in a long time.... which results in me being currently nice and pasty - so hopefully my lack of sun means no growing fungus. It's hard to break the fake & bake habit but once you do it's really nice to not have to lay in those beds each week. I lay out with friends an hour each sunday once the weather is nice. That's as much tanning as I allow myself now. I have to tan a little or I burn the first vacation I go on each summer. -

I remember a friend having light spots that turned out to be a fungus that grows on your skin when you are in the sun too much. This was in high school & I don't remember the details. Help with posting a slideshow of wedding pics...anyone

I agree, use Vimeo. It's much better than photobucket. -
Our guests booked ryan air out of houston & aeromexico. It was still around $400. We went through a TA that uses funjet. Last summer there were $200 flights on suncountry. Sadly, it looks like those days are over Since we started watching prices in August, they have only gone up. We booked in september & it hasn't been lower since then. Ryan air has really strict luggage rules (up to 44 lbs total) so it might not be a good airline for you to fly. It's fine for guests who won't have a lot of luggage, but if you are taking OOT bags or any decorations it would be hard.

They wanted to rent a van to get there but I didn't want them paying for that so we all piled in my Mom's minivan. It was a blast! That sounds perfect. I bet your girls loved you for it. They look like they had a blast being in your wedding too. I love the bridal party in the pool picture. I would love being in a wedding where I got to take crazy pictures like that.

I just feel like people forget how much everyone else pays to come to your wedding. I'm just getting very frustrated with all of the costs because I'm expected to pay for it, not really asked. For my wedding, if people can afford it, come! If not, then come to by AHR. I'm not going to be upset if people can't afford it. You know, I'm just ranting. I am actually honored that she asked me to be a BM. I just want to point out that it can be frustrating sometimes BUT I'll do it because I love her! I approached mine the same way. I actually talked a friend out of going because she really can't afford it right now. I only want people to go if they really do want to spend the money for a vacation. I put so much effort into making friends really comfortable saying they won't be going. in the end I'll have a lot less friends there, but that is totally fine with me. Your friend probably has no idea what she is doing is stressing you out. It's a pretty normal way things are done. it's not like she is doing something out of the ordinary. But that doesn't make it right. It should be a choice. You should talk to her (phone not email) and say that you want to work out a way for you to be a part of the wedding, but without spending so much. Suggest the hair & makeup ideas. is there anyway to make the bachelorette party less expensive? Approach it really nice & a good friend should be able to talk about it with you. I think things go wrong when so much hostility builds that it isn't talked about until Of course you don't want to cause her more stress. But, it should be a talk you can have without things getting bad. I've had the shoe disscussion many times. Maybe the bride was mad at me, but they always seemed to understand. I think they realize I've been a BM so many times that I'm just trying to give good advice.

Part of me would like to buy their dresses too (if I pick one), but like you, I paid about $1,000 to be in all of their weddings. And now we're 30! They all got married when we were broke and their parents paid the bill. I feel the same way. If I had BMs I would buy their dresses because I paid for all of mine. I just wish it was a tradition that was never started int eh first place. I had planned on picking a bunch of bright colors, letting them pick which color they wanted & then let them buy a beachy dress in that color. That way they can set their own budget. But, I decided just not to have BMs all together. None of Mike's guys can make it. it was jsut a lot easier not to. But, I made them my honorary BMs. Anyway, back to dresses, I don't think you should have to buy their dresses after all you spent on their weddings. But there are so many other ways to be a nice bride. You probably will be great after your experience as a BM. My next BM dress is tea length black & I love it. I did really appreciate her picking something so rewearable (that's why she picked it) so in turn I'll go above and beyond as a BM. But, I agree it might not be beachy. this is an indoor wedding. A great thing about a beach wedding is that you can find great dresses that aren't expensive. Also, when they are short they don't have to be hemmed.
