If the insurance company has a place to start then it is much better then..." I got back to my car and I dont know what happend" - Im an insurance agent if you havent noticed, I see this stuff all the time. Right, they'd have to pay the deductable, but $250-$1000 is a lot of money for something you didn't do. And if they don't have full coverage it's even worse. When my car was hit & run I made $5 an hour. That's over 100 hours of work after taxes. It was really frustrating, especially since I was working every night that week trying to save up extra money before I went off to college.
  2. You have to report it. He might not have any business driving (especially not a motor home) and this might be the thing that makes him realize it. my grandma was driving long after her vision was too poor. He took her getting in a wreck to finally stop driving. My car was hit & run in the parking lot of my job when I was in college. I was picking up an extra shift because I needed the money & ended up being out a lot more than I made that night. The witness said it was an older lady who probably took off because she might not have had a license. It was the kind of parking lot someone would cut through if they didn't want to be on the actual roads heading to a store. My car was only a year old & I'd park it in the back of the lot to protect it from getting banged by doors. It's really not fair to leave this high school student stuck with the expense. Their insurance is probably high enough as it is.

Sinal Tours recommended by Matt & Sol [email protected] I'll be writting a detailed review after my wedding next month with their prices, contact details & how the trip turned out. It's just a van & a driver, but it's much cheaper to take a group on a tour this way than to book an excursion through a tour group.
  4. I just packed up all my OOT bag stuff (15 bags worth) and it took less than one medium sized bag. by the time I put in the rafia fans, the wedding related stuff will claim an entire bag. That really isn't bad though. We get to check 4 bags & shouldn't need all 4. With baggage restrictions getting more limited, I might consider skipping OOT bags. If I had to chose one, I'd do the excursion.
  5. evite is also nice because you can see who viewed it, not just who rsvped. if you are avoiding STDs for the cost, you can do vista print postcards. it's about $7 for 100 & stamps are 26cents (they may have gone up 1 cent today with the new increase). This is what I did for my STDs & my guests loved them. I see them all over on people's desks, fridges, etc.
  6. OK, I looked up my day & sunset is at 7:32. So at what time would the sky be that beautiful sunseting sky that looks so great in pics? or do you not get a sky like that in cancun? Also, the sun rises at 6:07am. If you want to go out to the beach to watch it, when is the best time to get out there?

An hour and a half would probably have been okay, but we would have been more rushed (don't get me wrong, we were still rushing a bit, but not crazy rushed). Of course if you are going to see your husband before then you can get lots of pictures then. I didn't want to see mine before, so we only did pictures of ourselves alone and with bridal party and with our individual families beforehand. I'm glad you posted this. I was trying to figure out when to actually take the sunset pictures.
  8. I'm doing my announcements after the wedding. I'm making vista print postcards because they are 10 cents each & 1/2 price stamps. I plan on putting a picture from the wedding on the front and some writing on the back. I'll have to save your pretty poem
  9. I like the wording. All it needs is a beautiful ferret picture & you are ready to go. OK, honestly, I think something like a palm tree graphic or a starsfish would finish it.

This is becauase the sun doesn't set with the ocean, so the light quickly gets blocked by buildings and trees. Ok, that was long... but I'd go with 3 pm. good advice. since the sun sets on the west you get a really fast sunset in cancun/ riviera maya. I'm trying to get this sunset stuff, but I think this is how it works. If the sunsets at 5:30 that's when it is past the horizon, but it isn't dark until later. I think there are several times to look at- sunset & dusk. Maybe this will be my fact to check on today. I've been meaning to look into it. We are getting married on the solstice, so the sun sets really late. Our wedding is at 4. Then we'll do an hour or so of pictures before dinner. Our sunset pics will probably be after dinner. I'm thinking 4:30 would have been a better time for our ceremony, but it's probably too late to change now. We'll have a tent for shade for our guests to sit under. I just don't want to be doing pics in the hot, intense sun.
  11. I should point out that domesticated isn't an intelligence thing. It's more of being socialized to humans. But, they have shown that as dolphins get socialized to humans it has negative efects on them. Possibly it makes it easier for an animal to be domesticated if it has a lower IQ. Or maybe it's once something gets domesticated it doesn't maintin the same IQ because it isn't having to be self sufficient. I was just trying to point out that dolphins think as much if not more than humans. They are complex and have emotions. Cats & dogs don't really care if their children are taken away & they forget about them afterwards. Otherwise it would be really cruel to remove their babies, but we do it all the time. So when you think about how much dolphins are like us you can see how cruel it is. can you imagine taking people away from their families & forcing them in an unsuitable environment for entertainment? It really breaks my heart to see what is being done to them. I second what jason said about not judging people who do it. I don't think bad about my friends who have done the dolphin swims. But, I do wish they knew the truth about it. I didn't feel like I was being judged by the friend who told me about it. I was really thankful she enlightened me.
  12. wow i think the photography matters so much more than the music. if you do it right, using an ipod is really easy. you could use the same mix for your ahr too

I like to carry-on as much as possible because I know atleast that stuff will make it.
  14. possibly the people who are avoiding or just text messanging or emailing are too upset/ scared to say it in person. But, they should try anyway because it comes off like they don't care. I could tell it was really hard for people to tell me. Kind of like they were starting the "we are breaking up" conversation. As soon as they would start explaining I'd tell them they don't need to explain. When we picked a DW we knew that meant people couldn't make it & we understand.

She books fast though. Also, I believe if you fly in your photographer to dreams that is fine too. You can also do your TTD off the hotel property & hire anyone you want. Search around the forum & you'll find tons of info. If you don't have a TA already, PM "Tammy Host" the TA that runs this forum. She is a Dreams expert.
  16. I tend to say "I can't afford it" when I really mean it's just not something I want to spend my money on. I've said "I can't afford it" for so many friend's wedding related events. Bachelorette parties in vegas, parties in Texas, flying to all the showers in the last 4 years. I am a really good friend, I just don't want to spend the time & money on a flight. I have to fly enough as it is. Recently I've learned to stop saying I can't afford it. Now I'll say exactly the truth. Either I don't have the vacation time or it's more than I budgeted for travel for the year. Which is all true. The majority of my close friends are not coming to the wedding. I know they could get the money from somewhere, but they chose not to. But, I honestly feel like that is fine. If they'd rather have the money for redecorating their house, buying new clothes, taking a vacation somewhere else, that really should be their choice. The only thing that kind of upsets me is that when the wedding is in the US, I feel obligated to fly to it even if I'd rather save my money for something I want to do. I think a destination wedding is much easier to say no to. If it was as easy to say no to out of state weddings still in the US, I wouldn't go to as many. One nice thing 4 of my friends have done is fly to north carolina to see me since they are not coming to the wedding. Try your best not to take it personally. I really don't think it's personal. One of my friends was in tears when she told me she couldn't go. Her & her husband are starting to get serious about saving money. A big vacation right now just doesn't fit their goals. I felt terrible that it caused her so much stress. Seeing how hard it was for someone to decide not to go made me realize that it likely is a big deal to others who aren't going but they just can't make it happen right now. OK I'm rambling. I hope something in there made sense.
  17. I just started the ferret thread from page 1 until I got here to page 20. Even funnier the second time around. I bought my carry-on luggage for Nibblets because I really think we get get the law changed by June
  18. I love her dress & the tent set up. I don't care for what her sister is wearing or the ring of flowers.
  19. I checked out the knot DW boards the other day & the girls do seam really nice. Before, I had only been on the other parts of the knot boards & it was not a place I'd feel welcome. Don't worry, if the trolls came over here we'd put them in their place right before Tammy bans them. My guess is they are just jelouse. The majority of my friends who had traditional weddings wish they would have done a DW. If anyone knows of them attacking the knot DW girls again they should put an alert here so we can go prove them wrong

It was kind of strange. They had signs everywhere saying the restriction and security was being very strict about it. I felt like that was their top priority. Who cares if people have a knife, bomb, etc. Just make sure their purse fits in their carry-on.

Everyone going through security had to stuff their purses in their carry-on. Some people couldn't make it fit & they were sent back to check the bag I guess. They left the line.
  22. Were you allowed one carry-on bag & one personal item (backpack, purse or laptop case)? The only time I've run into a problem with having a carry-on bag & a purse was in London Gatwick. They made you shove your purse in the carry-on, but mine was jam packed. Luckily Mike had space. These restrictions were not on our airline's website either. So I thought the safest people to check with are those who recently flew out of the Cancun airport. TIA!

  24. A great way to become an active vendor is to go into the puerto vallarta section of the message board & share your insider tips on PV. I'm sure the PV brides would really appreciate it. It really helps to get advice from people who live in the area. I'm planning my wedding in Riviera Maya, and the local RM vendors have been incredibly helpful.
  25. Seeing this thread this morning reminded me of what I dreamed about last night. I dreamed that your BD book fell out mid flight. But, the flight was more of a space mission and they were worried the book would create interference with another shuttle as it floated in space so someone was going to have to follow your flight's path until they found the book. I always have crazy dreams.
