cost of wedding.com On average, US couples spend for their wedding, while their wedding budget is 50% less. This does not include cost for a honeymoon or engagement ring. In the US, 82% of couples spend less than the average wedding cost while 18% of couples spend more than the average. Maybe something like a median would be a better reprentation when 82% spend less than the average. Those 18% could be totally skewing the numbers.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I can't upload draft #2 because it's on the computer in the room where my friend is asleep. But, I have made the changes. I made the text off center so it centers with the tree I made the tree lighter green. I put a thin black line around the peach date. It stands out better now. I put a green oak leaf between the location & town I'll move the name down too. Once I have the chance I'll post the current version. We are going shopping for her wedding dress & my BM dress all day today so it might take me a while. Thanks again! I'm so excited about them. It was fun for me to be able to contribute something to her wedding. As an out-of-state BM I won't be able to throw showers or anything like that.

Here is draft one of my friend's save the dates. She is getting married between two oak trees on a ranch. Her colors are green & peach. Any ideas to make it better? I'll be ordering these as vista print postcards. She is visting me this week & we are in full wedding planning mode. I'm one of her BMs. She was one of my superimposed honorary BMs Updates! I dropped my friend off at the airport this morning so now I have a chance to polish up her save the date. version 2 version3 version4 version5

a little bummed about my "something borrowed" veil

You'll see wedding pics of yourself and not be able to imagine it any other way. :-) Good luck w/ the veil hunt!!!! Can't wait to see pics of your newest option. Thanks! It is funny how it works. I didn't even want a veil. Then I started looking at them because my mom really wanted me to have one. I loved that long simple style. But, I only planned on spending $30. My friends was atleast $200 is not more. Her wedding was very grand with a huge budget (maybe $60,000). So I got excited about a veil nicer than I ever would have bought. It's hard to change gears to my original thought of having a cheap veil. But, I know I can't spend as much as she did to buy a veil like hers. I'm just a little bummed trying to accept that. I feel bad for her too. Such a pretty veil & then it gets lost. I'm excited to do a dress rehersal. I haven't put it all together yet. off to the airport.... -

Wow you girls are amazing! Especially since I know how much tammy loves her veil. And rebecca isn't getting married until after me. I am so moved by how generous you are! (the smiles are not working right, but I was going to insert group hug here) Here is a pic of her veil. It was the simple, long style I wanted. But, then it has beautiful, subtle details of peals along the trim. I could buy one like it, but I'm sure it was expensive. It was just so exciting to see my friend had this perfect veil & was happy to loan it to me. I have another veil option from a different friend. The only thing is the veil is a little fuller than I wanted. I'm about to pick a friend up at the airport. I'll do a dress rehersal for her & see what she thinks of veil choice #2. It would mean a lot for me to wear that one too. My wedding will be on that friend's 5 year anniversary. I'll post a picture of me in my dress & veil #2 and see what y'all think. Thank you so much everyone for being so caring! This is a great place <group hug> -
I love lists to! Lists & calendars. I had a similar feeling last saturday. My wedding to-do list was full of stuff I didn't really feel like doing. Then there was my work list of all these work related things I really didn't feel like doing. So saturday I turned on some good music & just started checking boring stuff off the to-do list. It felt really great. In all the madness, just make sure you take time to stop & smell the ferrets. That's what my granny always said.

I was going to borrow a friend's veil. I was her MOH in January so it was special to me to have a "something borrowed" from her. The veil is beautiful. It was just the style I wanted, but much prettier. Her mom had her take it to the photographer after the wedding to take more pictures of it. I guess the photographer didn't get enough at the wedding. The photographer lost it. So now I'm veiless. I can buy a cheap one like I had originally planned. It just won't be as beautiful as the one I was going to borrow. I really didn't care about the veil at first. But once I saw the beautiful one I was getting to borrow I got excited.

Anyone else stressing about increasing airfare prices?
rodent replied to monicaswave's topic in Just venting or funnies
i agree, for us june/ july/ august brides it's much less stressful. Prices were available & obviously on the rise so it was easy to tell guests either book now or never. I would be much more worried if my wedding was in 09. -

rodent replied to monicaswave's topic in Just venting or funnies
Airfare increases prevented a lot of people from being able to attend my wedding. But, you have to be able to accept that. I'm happy with the 24 guests we will have. It allowed me to be able to take everyone on an excursion & make better OOT bags. I wouldn't have been able to do that with the 50+ people who originally wanted to come. Luckily my family had already booked & all the people that had to be there. I was also really glad we picked a cheaper hotel to offset the travel cost. Even with high airfare, it's still a good deal on a vacation. I'm getting a little stressed about the cost of flying home. I live out of state from my family. I'm attending a wedding in houston & one in ohio this summer. Airfare is so high! -

The sunset lighting I'm talking about is when the sky looks like the sky in Matt's siggy pic. Or maybe that's something the photographer captures with their camera settings. I honestly don't know how it works. When I watched Matt & Sol's video the sky didn't look as intense as it turned out in their pictures, so it must be photographer magic. Shutter speeds? Also, this picture of Nics • TAMARACK STUDIOS • And Jean-Marcus posted a wedding with beautiful sunset pics. I wish I knew more about this when I scheduled my wedding. I'm worried we'll be outside during the harshest part of the day & eatting dinner when it's beautiful.

Excursion vs. OOT bags
rodent replied to MrsTrussell2B's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
i told mike's mom the other day about the OOT bags & I could tell from her reaction she thought OOT bags were above and beyond what's necessary. She had offered to make favors for me & I told her I already had a whole bag of them. My friends also reacted the same way. More shocked that I'd give everyone a whole bag of stuff. So I don't think it's something people expect at all. But, I loved putting them together. Making the OOT bags & planning the excursion have been my favorite part. I can't wait to report back on what I would do if I had to do over. -
Your blog looks great. Did you do the design yourself? I really like your background & logo. That is too cool that you were able to "bring it to life." Have a great time in cabo!
