I've been told it looks a lot like Princeton.
  2. Mike rings came in today! They look great. The 10 is too big, but the 9 is hard to get on. Once it's on it's a little loose. He has big knuckles so a ring won't really fit right. He'll only where it for special occasions, not daily. We are going to use the 10 during the ceremony so I don't have to force it on. He'll probably wear the 9 when he wears it. He really liked the look. "very manly" he said. We;ll first he said, "where are my polka dots."
  3. Is it hard to find a place to eat around there? We don't need anything great. Just a decent lunch. I don't want to have to buy stuff & make sandwiches is we can just stop somewhere & get food. We'd be stopping for lunch after the ruins, before the cenote. Thanks!

You'll be surprised what you'll learn how to do. Atleast I was. Quote: Originally Posted by LC_Rachel Wow. It's all so great Morgan. You truly have developed into a little designer. I've been buying sundresses & tops since we got engaged. When I pack last minute I always end up with outfits that don't really go together. One time I flew in for a friends wedding. I just grabbed an outfit to wear to the rehersal dinner. I had no idea it didn't fit anymore. The skirt was too tight so I had to hike it up to where it was a mini skirt. The shirt was too tight so it was kind of hoochie. So I'm all hoochied out & the other girls look so nice. I even had to wear it in the church for rehersal. So for the week in mexico I want to have lots of cute options. I have more fun when I'm well packed I think I have a picture in photobucket... Yep, I'm the one in the miniskirt when everyone else is wearing pants & jackets. I don't pack well under pressure.
  5. Lauren's pictures were unreal! He is so amazing. I couldn't stop looking at them. I hope it works out for a few of the PV brides. And for me so I can see more of his pictures There is a thread where everyone posted their dates & location. maybe you can find more PV brides that way.
  6. The "why buy the cow" thing doesn't really apply. These men are not commiting to marry us for the milk I'm glad we have lived together. We moved from Texas to North Carolina together after only dating for 6 months. We have been living together for 4 years now. I would not have moved in with him out of convenience or to have a good roommate. We did it to really know each other before we decided to get married. We could have gotten married before we moved in together. We knew we wanted to marry each other. But, there were rough patches when we talked about breaking up. I'm glad we worked it out because we wanted to. Not because we were married. We've grown so much together & truely know who the other person is. I feel like it's important to know how a person is in bad times, not just good times. I wanted to see how we communicate about the hard issues like money. We have a very solid partnership now & it makes me feel very confident about our marriage. Mike has also been an awesome roommate It's been so much fun.
  7. Could it be babycow? She is in tulum right now. I don't know her real name, but COWdin made me think it could be her.
  8. I'm glad you & your guests had such a wonderful time. Destination weddings are the best!!
  9. thanks everyone! Glad y'all like it & have found it helpful. Borrow away. I did spend a lot of time putting things together, but there is so much I didn't do. We are not having a bridal party so i didn't spend any time with that. Also, we are not having a private reception so no time went in to coordinating that. There are no decorations. We canceled our AHR after my brother set his wedding date for this summer (huge relief- didn't want to do one in the first place). Also, I bought my dress after a weekend of shopping off the rack so no time was spent with fittings. So when you see all that I didn't do, maybe it makes it more realistic that I did the stuff I did. The writers strike helped too. And I haven't been keeping the apartment as clean as I used to

Sorcha After the wedding I'll have tons of projects with my pictures & video. I'm also helping with a friend's wedding to get my fix. But, I'm definitly ready to be done with wedding planning. I still have things to wrap up, like music, vows & alterations. But, all the main projects are done. I want to spend more time learning photoshop, web design & eventually take up photography (just as a hobby).

They were all cheap. Target, JC Penney, Old Navy & various sales. I've been buying sundresses since we got engaged. Most were around $20.
  12. OK, now it is over. 11 months worth of wedding planning! Thank you everyone who gave me feedback, encouraged me to keep making stuff & made this whole process a blast. I never had any intention of planning my wedding. I was just going to show up in Mexico & get married. Finding this forum changed everything. I had fun, saved money & learned new skills by being a DIY bride. I can’t wait to share this all with my guests. Big Thank You!!!!! I also attached a newletter I emailed our guests about the coba trip & deep sea fishing so they could pick which one they wanted. There are lots of pictures. 20. I know I’m early, but I finished my last project tonight & wanted to take a walk down photobucket memory lane. If you want more details about any of this stuff, check out my BDW blog. I tried to provide all the info there. My first DIY project. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t6412 This was when I started to love this forum. I had only been a member for a week & everyone was so wonderful helping the noobie make a monogram. I wish you could see how it progressed, but I made the rookie mistake of deleting my photobucket files. I started off with some bland fonts & bad colors. After some advice from the forum, I ended up with a logo I love and a bunch of new friends. The day we got engaged. We were on a hike with Mike’s family in the North Carolina mountains. He proposed on the top. The ring My save the dates My first shot at a siggy collage  See there is hope for all of you that think you are DIY challenged. Engagement pictures (snapshots by a friend) First pair of shoes I bought. Not as cute in person so I’m wearing them for the TTD instead. To cheap to worry about shipping back. There is more…
  21. This is what I have so far. I just made them tonight. I will look over it tomorrow & see if there is anything I want to change. I plan on ordering them from vistaprint & mounting them on blue card stock. She the blue frame around it won't be printed. That was just to see what the final thing would look like. My wedding colors are just a mix of bright colors so I made these very bright.
