last july, my car window (driver side) started acting funny. I'd roll it down to get into my parking garage & it wouldn't go up all the way. If I waited a minute, rolled it back down & then rolled it up it would get there.
I took it to a place to have it fixed. They charged my $250 to replace the .....OK I forgot what they replaced, valve maybe?. When i got it back it was even worse. It did the thing more often & I had to wait longer to get the window back up. I took the car in again & they said it worked fine for them. So I left & it was still broken. It doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be a problem. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to get back up so I just never roll it down. So I took it in one more time & they said they can't tell whats wrong. When I asked for my money back they said they can't do that, but they'd definitly fix it. But, they don't know how to fix it.
The place is open M-F 9-5 so getting there is a PITA. Then being without a car is hard. So I've just been doing without any functional windows (my passenger broke before that so I leave it stuck up.) But, not having a drivers side window that works is annoying. I have to open my door to get into my parking garage, at drive thrus & the bank.
I've never delt with a mechanic problem like this. Should they have to refund my money? Should they have to figure out what's wrong? What if they can't fix it? Should I take it somewhere else? Or just keep opening my door. I've gotten skilled at swipping my card with the door cracked open.
The car is a 99 civic. I plan on keeping it atleast another 3-4 years. I just hate spending another $250 to take it elsewhere. The window can just break again too. It's the 2nd time my drivers side broke & my passenger broke twice too. I miss hand crank windows.
