  1. I registered for fiestaware because I love color. I want to find some multi- colored glasses to go with the plates. The fiestaware glasses are not what I had in mind. I'd like to find something like this from pottery barn. The problem with the pottery barn ones if you have to buy 6 of each color. I want a variety of 4-6 colors. Yes, I'm the queen of tacky By morganleigh03 UPDATE I bought these. I really liked the pottery barn ones, but these were 1/2 the price ($5 each shipped).
  2. all this talk about registries I feel like peeking again.
  3. i checked mine because my mom told me I didn't have enough plates on there. I had forgotten that i still needed to update it & one of my fiestaware colors isn't sold at taht store anymore so those were off the list. So I logged on to make changes & saw all this stuff had been purchased. I couldn't help but check it out then. I checked my registry honestly witht he intention to see if i needed to add more to it. So much was gone from one of my registries I wanted to make sure i didn't underestimate how much to put on it. The other registry had plenty. So now I feel like I should keep an eye on the one registry to make sure there is plenty on it. Or will people just move on the other store? I would feel bad if people drove to one store & nothing was left. Maybe I'll swap some items out. There are some bowls on one registry that are available at the other store. So yes, I stalk them but mostly with the intention to make sure they are up to date. But, once I do log in I can't help but check things out. This morning someone asked for my registry # so I peeked after i looked that up.
  4. I hope we can get the ferret laws changed fast so nibblets can chill on the beach again. This was a picture from last summer when I took him & some buddies to the outer banks. Too bad I already mailed my invites. I guess I can use these for the thank you cards OK this picture is great, but I'm blank on something to write. I'll just post it & someone else can have fun with it

  7. I found this on slickdeals.net. From one of the websites i came across something called athomesignings. It's a company that matches notaries up with banks & mortgage brokers. my friend is a notary so I'm going to see if that company would be good. I know she wouldn't want strangers coming to her house though. WAHM.com The Online Magazine for Work at Home Moms forum for finding at home work Here is an article from Good Morning America Another article: Tory Johnson's Tips to Make Money at Home Advice and Web Links to Help You Find Home-Based Work BY TORY JOHNSON April 4, 2008 — These days it seems like everyone is looking for recession-proof ways to make money at home. Here are some options: Home-based customer service agents. Business is strong for home-based customer service providers. I talked with several companies that look for home-based customer service reps and they say they are looking to recruit at least 20,000 new agents through the end of this year. The reason? Some large companies are cutting back on staff positions to save on salary and benefits. One of the first departments they look to outsource -- because they can -- is customer service. From banks and retailers to infomercials, consumer-focused companies require people to answer calls from customers. Among those now recruiting: LiveOps, West, Convergys, Alpine Access, Arise, VIPDesk and Working Solutions. Each company has a different business model, pay scale and criteria for certifying new agents, so visit their Web sites to determine what may be the best fit for you. For example, LiveOps is actively looking for home-based workers interested in sales, as well as licensed insurance agents for both health and life. Arise is specifically looking for agents with specialized skills in language and sales because its high-tech and retail clients are currently demanding this expertise from home-based agents. More specifically, Arise is seeking to recruit hundreds of French or German bilingual professionals, as well as those with great sales aptitude. The company says former phone-based, car or real estate sales agents could find a good fit with Arise when putting their sales tactics to work. TeamDoubleClickfocuses exclusively on virtual administrative assistants. The company says its client hours billed for 2005 were 8,840 and for 2008 they are on pace to exceed 80,000 client hours. Freelance opportunities are growing. The work isn't downsized even though the work force is. So many companies are turning to freelancers to fill the void. Freelancing is very viable option for people facing job uncertainty either because they're out of work or need some extra money to make ends meet or create a safety net. There are now a number of Web sites dedicated to connecting freelancers with companies of all sizes. Check out Elance, oDesk, Guru and SoloGig among others. Elance, for example, says it has more than 40,000 active buyers (the companies looking to hire freelancers), which is an increase of 60 percent from a year ago. And the site has 4,000 new projects posted every week, totaling more than $2 million in value. oDesk, which has nearly 7,000 job opportunities posted per month, is an online staffing marketplace that supports time-based work. The company supports the entire work relationship, and its solution includes software that tracks a provider's time and gives the buyer visibility into work as it is being done. The company says this approach enables people to build teams and work as if everyone were in the same office. The most popular categories for freelance work tend to be clients looking for experts in various marketing and technology functions -- from coding and Web design to copywriting, customer service and more. One word of caution: some (not all, by any means) of the jobs posted on the freelance sites offer relatively low fees for the work and expertise they're seeking, which can be an immediate turnoff -- for example, a project that will pay a few hundred dollars for something that perhaps is really worth a few thousand dollars. Think of these sites as a way to get your foot in the door with a potential client. If they like your work, they'll hire you for more -- and over time, you'll be paid what you're worth. This is a very viable option for making hundreds -- and even thousands of dollars -- every month depending on the time you have to devote. Find money around your house! An eBay/Nielsen survey found that the average U.S. household has 52 unused items lying around worth $3,100. It's a mix of clothing and accessories, toys and electronics, sporting goods and other stuff. It's one of the easiest ways to make money from home, and it's certainly savvy recycling because 83 percent of people believe that selling used items is a form of recycling. If you don't have the time or tools to post your goodies online, there are official eBay eBay trading assistance stores in your area. You can also email us if you'd like me to come to your home to help you find hidden treasures in your home to help you make money at home. Need a computer? For just about all work at home opportunities, you must have an up-to-date computer, which has been an obstacle for some viewers who've written to us. Copyright © 2008 ABC News Internet Ventures Tory Johnson Tells You Where to Look for Virtual Customer Service Jobs March 12, 2008 — Forget data entry. The most common question I get about work at home options is from people seeking data entry work. They imagine a company sending them files of papers to be input to a computer system. The assumption is that must only know how to type; no other skills required. That type of work simply doesn't exist in any legitimate form from home. A popular category for legitimate home-based work is virtual customer service. The companies that provide such opportunities operate virtual call centers by managing the systems, technology, certification and training to handle incoming customer calls and inquiries for large clients such as airlines, financial institutions, retailers, catalog companies, infomercials and more. These calls are answered by certified virtual agents from the privacy of their home offices in the United States. With only a few exceptions, these people are paid as independent contractors, not employees. Some require individuals to incorporate, others don't. Demand for specific skills varies with each company, but almost all require individuals to have a dedicated phone line, relatively new computer with high speed Internet access and a quiet work space. Kids playing, doorbells ringing and other ongoing distractions can be heard through the phone and are the basis for termination of service agreements. Compensation ranges from $8 to $20 an hour depending on skill level and performance. Most companies calculate pay based on actual time spent taking calls. Some people make a full-time living in this line of work; others use it as supplemental income. The most frequent complaint I receive about this line of work is that there are no opportunities in a particular state. Each company has different needs at any given time. They may recruit more in one time zone during certain months than others. They might not have the ability to do business in some states. I can't recommend one over another because every company is different. That means if you're interested in this type of work, you must do your research to decide which, if any, company is best for you, based on its eligibility requirements, clients, available shifts, required skills, contractor status and pay range. Just about all of them require that applicants pay for a background and credit check as part of the application process. These are just some of the companies that offer credible home-based opportunities, each of which differ from the other. Keep in mind, only you can decide whether the opportunity is right for you, so do your research by carefully reviewing the company Web sites, talking to their representatives and understanding the requirements, performance and pay models. 8. I'll answer again after my wedding, but right now I'm thinking my answer will be photography & the group excursion. I really haven't splurged anywhere. The only thing I went over budget on was photography, but I'm glad I did. I went under budget on a lot of things & I didn't budget enough for photography in the first place. Now we are adding in a videographer so I'm definitly over budget. But, still very happy with the grand total.

It's been a while since I talked to my TA about it, but I think they can go by the airport & sit in a test seat. But, then it's sort of up to the discretion of the employee at the time. But, if they say it's fine & then the day of the flight there is an issue he might have to buy a 2nd seat that day. There were no taxes & fees on the 2nd seat. We decided my dad would be much more comfortable with 2 seats so we did it. Even if he didn't need it. But, I'm pretty sure he still does. I haven't seen him since he lost the weight. I know he will be more comfortable this way. Also, he would be sitting by a stranger. If he was sitting by someone he knows it might not be so bad. 12. It's nice to hear what was useful. I can't believe you didn't include the autographed picture of me I sent. Or did you mom put it in the welcome book? can't wait to hear more about your wedding!

  14. Anyone know of any good companies doing work online? I have a friend who needs a part-time job to suppliment her income as she starts out as a professor. She is only an adjunct prof so she doesn't make much at all. It's hard to sift through these online because so many look like scams. So I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually done an online job. Or it can be an at-home job. Just something that would work well around making lesson plans & teaching. I've known people who typed up medical records from home. I just wouldn't know how you'd get into that. Thanks!

Even if you are good at photoshop it still takes longer than lumapix. So I use lumapix to make photobooks, siggy, pics, etc. Photoshop it what you'd want to editing pictures. it is a lot of fun & very useful. I've saved so many pictures that would have otherwise been ruined. Like my favorite engagement pic was ruined because mike's shirt was tucked in his pants goofy. I was able to remove the tuck & the picture is great.

  19. I was planning on going that route too. But, I was really worried aobut it. I love pictures & I hated to trust that people would be taking good ones. I didn't want to be stressed about wanting pictures to be taken & seeing none of our guests were taking them. We took our engagement pics with a friend & I like how they turned out, but it's much harder than having a photographer. It's nice to have someone tell you where to stand & catch things that a non-pro wouldn't. I know I'm going to cherish these wedding pics so I'm so happy we went with a pro. I could tell I was not OK with the decision to not have a photographer because when I booked one I felt a huge relief. There are so many wedding things I cut corners on or did cheap & i can tell I'm totally at peace with those decisions. Not having a photographer would have been something I regretted.
  20. Photo Editing Software - LumaPix :: FotoFusion you can try it for free. it works the same, but all your pictures get watermarked when you export them.

And thanks to you (and some of the other girls), there are so many fun projects and instructions on this site, I'm sure I'll be able to test out a few projects. Thanks again! A yeah, I was in preK during a span of time that they thought it was better to make leftys switch. I just have terrible handwritting & pen control now. I tried to go back, but it was hard.

I'd like to play around with images and creating things like invitations, etc. That said, I don't want to shell out lots of dough and find that I am terribel at it! you can make all the stuff I did with elements. You can get it for $40 or less on ebay. Elements can do so much. I'd start there. Another great program for PCs is lumapix fotofusion. You can download a free trial. The basic version is $40. It's more user friendly to pick up & start making invitations. It's also great for making photobooks. I was always terrible with art stuff. But, since starting to plan my wedding I've learned I love graphic design. It's the first artsy thing I was good at. I think it's because I'm a lefty switched to right so I always had bad control of the pen. Let me know what you decide. If you have an interest in learning it, you should give it a shot. You might really surprise yourself by what you can do. I know I sure am surprised by all I've learned this year just by making wedding stuff. It's been fun having a creative outlet

  24. you can get a free trial of photoshop. I think it depends on what you want to do & how much time you want to spend learning it. Publisher is a simple program like word & powerpoint. It's pretty simple to start up & make things right away. Photoshop is a program you have to learn first. But, once you get it down it's an awesome program. There are also 2 types of photoshop. Elements is the cheaper more basic program. CS3 is a big program running around $600. It is amazing with all the stuff it can do, but it takes so much time to learn to use it all. There is also a free online version of photoshop.
