We are making it legal Friday (the 13th) in the morning!!! We were planning to go with a married couple we are both friends with, but the guy has to work now. I called another friend & asked her if she wanted to witness thinking that no one would really want to wait in line at the courthouse with us. It sounded like she cried when I asked. Her excitement for our legal day is great. So we are picking both friends up around 10am & heading downtown. Afterwards we are going to eat mexican food & have a margarita toast. I'll post pictures in this thread afterwards. Getting excited about legal day is helping me get through the next week 1/2 without losing my mind. I'm so full of excitement about mexico that I feel like I'll burst if I don't have an outlet. I've never planned something for an entire year. The anticipation is becoming too much!

If others have issues that it's your 2nd marriage and feel you don't deserve all the congratulations, then that's their problem. They are probably negative dirtbags anyways. that is exactly what I was trying to say, but you say it so much better. I love the LC Rachel spin on everything I think wedding guilt is common. I felt so much guilt when we first started planning that it was completely ruining the happiness of being engaged. My guilt was all from asking people to meet us in mexico. Now I know that the guilt was a waste of time & our family can not wait. if people try to make you feel guilty that is their problem. But, don't make your self feel guilty. Celebrate & get excited about your awesome wedding coming up!

Here's the questions: 1. Is it appropriate to have a reception/picnic AFTEr the wedding back in our hometown at a local park (cabin w/ fireplace/outdoor games, etc) and invite everyone to that? yes, I think that sounds like fun. 2. DF wasnt ever married, so can we register and ONLY include the registry cards for people on his side of the family and friends? I wouldn't include the registry cards. They are considered bad ettiquette. You can spread your registry info via word of mouth or put a link on your wedding website. Many people called & emailed me so i told them where we were registered. Don't fight the registry. People will talk you in to doing it because they want to send something. I wasn't interested in registering, but now taht the gifts are rolling in I'm really enjoying them & i feel so loved. I never imagined people would send so much. 3. DO I walk down the aisle myself(second wedding, dad wont be there)? Walk with who you want. If my dad couldnt make it to my wedding, I'd walk in with my mom. She is the one that raised me. I'm walking with my dad because it's a big deal that he has lost a lot of weight so that he can walk me. If on the day of my wedding he isn't feelling up to it I'll walk with my mom. Another option is to walk in together with your soon-to-be husband. I think you can still have a bachellorette if you want. there is never anything wrong with just having fun with your girls. i don't think a 2nd marriage should have to be treated that differently. I understand not having a shower because many of those guests have attended a shower for you or you already have all the stuff you could need. I haven't been married but I still had no interest in having a shower. Thanks for the replies!!!!!!! I appreciate it! I have been more excited about 2nd marriages when i know the person is marrying the right one this time. To me it wasn't any less special. I'm so happy to see my friends get it right the 2nd time around & find the happiness they deserve. it's still a huge occasion to celebrate.

They run about $150-$175, but you can find them for $100 with no tax or shipping. I'm buying one of these for a wedding in April. I'll find my post with info about it.... -

Thank you!!!! Desperately searching, Steph it was something like snotty bride. cessy boston posted it. I started making my mom's by the pool this weekend. it's not perfect, but I think she will love it. I saw some etsy sellers selling them for $10-$12. Probably would have been easier than doing it myself. I hope I can get them done in time. I don't want to stress about it. Just lay by the pool & stitch. If I don't get to it in time I'll just give them blank hankies.

Looking for multi-colored glasses
rodent replied to rodent's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
They came in this morning before I left for work. I quickly took a picture of them with my fiesta ware. I really like them. They are very heavy glass. -
Is there a way for us to know who our referals are? Also, the number on my user cp says 29. I had 2 before this started so do I have 27?

That is why I haven't expected much from my hotel WC. I imaigne she is super busy with weddings going on right now. From what I've heard they are not as responsive before your wedding, but once youa re there they give you so much attention. I'd rather be taken care of while I'm in mexico than have her answer every little question in advance. That is also another reason why I feel like they deserve a nice tip. The bulk of the money is going to the hotel & the WC is the one busting their butt to put everything together. My wedding is pretty simple so I didn't see a need for an outside WC.

I think it would be fine if you are not so worried about your pictures. It's a lot of pressure to shoot a wedding alone. He is bound to get some good shots, but you can't expect that he will capture everything. And if he doesn't have experience with shooting people in bright sun you might have some problems with exposure.

Once I moved out of texas I started seeing how different it is. For example, in other states they don't have their state flag flying everywhere, pasta in the shape of their state, state shaped decorations, etc. I tried to explain to someone that it's just because Texas is such a pretty shape & the whole table started laughing. I guess it is weird to think of a state shape as pretty, but it is. So this started a whole silly thing of me putting all this texas stuff on my desk. The fact that you can buy Texas kleenex boxes at HEB is pretty funny. Anyway, I love Texas & I miss living there. I have run in to some texas bashing though that is annoying. As soon as some people hear I'm from Texas they already have this stereotype in their head. Its hard to believe that people could think that everyone in a huge state fits into one mold, but that kind of ignorance is everywhere. I figure they are just jelous that their state shape isn't as pretty Don't Mess with Texas!
