  7. We are leaving tonight to stay with a friend by the airport & then we are off to Mexico in the morning. I can't wait to be there! I'll be back next week with lots of pictures to share. It feels unreal that it is finally my turn to leave. Thanks everyone for all your help. You have really made planning a wedding more fun than I ever thought it could be.

  10. I'm so happy to share the same wedding week as so many of these couples who must be so excited to finally be able to marry. Yay for love, marriage, & california!

  13. here is the picture tammy emailed me. It is so low resolution I'm not sure what to do with it. It is 52 dpi at 2x4 inches. I made it 200 dpi at 4x6 so it can be printed, but that is way more resampling than should be done. Should the background be whited out more? the orignal taken with a camera phone cloned out some of the background adjusted curves
  14. that is ridiculous. I prefer to opt our of stuff like that so I think opting out is fine. But, still taking food? That is not right.

The government is so smart sometimes. hehe That is really messed up of your FI's dad. Hopefully he'll change his mind. in NC we didn't have to do rings. that's a weird rule. not everyone gets a wedding ring. but, your right it would be hard to just get one out of a vending machine or something like that.
  16. I don't want to limit myself to a photographer who is in my area. A great thing about having photographers on the forum is you can get to know them over a long distance. I'm in North Carolina & my photographer is in Arizona. I think being open to hiring a photographer in any location allows more options to find the perfect photographer for you. Just about all of my wedding planning has been online or over the phone. My travel agent is in Missouri, photographer is in arizona, most of the guests are coming from texas & the wedding is in mexico.

So, as you come here today to reaffirm your wedding vows and as you reflect back over all the years as husband and wife, do you now reaffirm the vows you took 25 years ago? If so, repeat after me. Vows: Roy(Please repeat after me) I , Roy take you Denise to be my Wife, Friend and Lover. * I will be yours in plenty and in want, * in sickness and in health, * in failure and in triumph* Together we will dream, * play and experience. *When you stumble, I will restore you.. * Throughout my life * I promise to cherish and respect you,* to comfort and encourage you,* and to stay with you * as long as we both live. Exchange of rings:My dh lost his wedding band so I got him another one and he surprised me with a past/present/future ring) Roy place the ring on Denise’s finger and repeat after me. I give you this symbol of my Love…Knowing Love is precious * and Fragile, yet strong. * I give you this sign of my love, * an ever present symbol * of the vows we have made this day. * I give you this ring * as I give you my Love. Denise place the ring on Roy’s finger and repeat after me. I give you this symbol of my Love….Knowing Love is precious * and fragile, yet strong. * I give you this sign of my Love, * an ever present symbol * of the vows we have made this day. * I give you this ring * as I give you my Love. Sand Ceremony: As you stand beside the ocean tide, may your love always be as constant as these never-ending waves that pour near your feet, flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea; Your love came softly upon each others heart, just as the foam comes softly upon the sand, and just as there will never be a morning without the ocean's flow, so there will never be a day without love for each other. You have pledged yourselves on this day your love will be as dependable as the tide; as these waters nourish the earth and sustain life, may your constant devotion nourish and sustain you until the end of time. Roy and Denise, you have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, and this covenant is a relationship agreement between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives. The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship. You have recommitted here today to share the rest of your lives with each other and with your children, Brandon and Ashley. We recognize the significant role that Brandon and Ashley play in this re-commitment celebrated today. They will now join Roy and Denise in this re-commitment to each other by contributing a part of each person into one sound (or unbroken or enduring) family. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these (4) individual containers of sand, each representing a member of the family in all that they were, all that they are, and all that they will ever be. As each individual’s sand is poured into the family’s one united common container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as the grains of sand can never be separate and poured again into the individual containers, so will continue the bond with your family. Blessing: With the words from an old Apache Wedding Blessing, I would like to Bless this Vow Renewal. “Now you will feel no rain for each of you will be shelter to one another. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no loneliness, now you are two persons, but there is one life before you. Go now to your place to enter into days of your togetherness and may your days be good and long upon this earth.†Each of you has pledged your truth, one to the other, by giving and receiving your Love. It becomes my pleasure to make complete the union of your lives. I now give you into the keeping of each other in the highest and noblest relationship recognized by society and the laws under which we live, I pronounce you Husband and Wife once again. You may now kiss your wife. Thanks for letting me share. beautiful
  18. OK how is this now? I adjusted the curves & took some noise out of her shirt. It was so much faster than what I did before. I'd love any feedback or tips.
  19. Here is a picture of shelly's I was trying to save here is my first shot After a class I took yesterday I'm trying it again right now. Now I understand curves & levels so much more. I'm tweaking it right now. I'd love to see what a pro suggests. here is my 2nd shot without maintaining the sky. I was just trying to see if I could improve them. It looks pretty artificial though. Plus it took a long time to do. There must be an easier way.

  21. this is a wonderful game We have done a little of this before, but I'd love to see more. Many of us are learning photoshop & were just talking about starting something like this yesterday. We want to start posting before & afters and give a brief description of what we did & allow others to critique it. It's great having photographers around to learn from

The DW is about the REAL wedding, celebrating with friends & fam & just having a kick ass time, right? Well goddamn if I didn't have a certain guest, who I have known my whole life, that got lit at the girls pedi-party & started asking questions. I don't know how she knew, but she just kept probing & probing in front of all the women. Only my mom & BFF knew. I was so pissed. I just smiled & didn't say a word. I wanted to strangle her because she made such a big f'ing deal about the person performing the ceremony (we had our own officiant) and how it was legal in Mexico, blah blah blah... Point: just be prepared random people were asking me all the time. When I was being secretive about it it was so uncomfortable. I'd try to dodge the question. I hate lying. So finally i started to say, "we are taking care of the paperwork before we go because it's less work, saves $1,000, & allows us to personalize the ceremony." The response is great. And I love my legal day pics. I don't want to hide them from everyone. I want them in my photobook.
  23. I was too excited to hold it in so I'm telling everyone. No one sounds like they feel jipped. I think they are coming for the sun & the ruins tour anyway
