The cabs outside of the hotels are a hugeeee rip off, I would suggest a bus, if that is possible for you? only $12? wow! I would have gone if I knew it was that cheap. oh well, there is always the next trip.

And my typo on the title bar is annoying me. sounds like fun. both in the same day would be a lot. there is an xcaret/ tulum trip & i've read several reviews saying to only do one in a day.

I thought it was like an hour away. we told a bell hop we wanted a cab & he got us one within 10 minutes. in cancun you can probably just wave one down.

We booked a group fishing trip and the rep from the fishing tour said to not tell Lomas about our trip because they will call and cancel it and try to get us to rebook with them. That is crazy! I guess they don't care and they just want to make money. We are going to Xel-Ha and Xcaret before everyone gets there. We get there 3 days before everyone else....I know some people in our group want to go, so we may end up going again after they get there. Thanks for the tip, Morgan! oh, so it's just you guys. then maybe a cab would be best. if you are taking a big group though I'd check on the vans. Are you doing both on the same day? I've heard to allow a whole day for one. i had heard bad things about lomas, but when i went 9 years ago they were great. maybe it was a different group then. our shuttle to the hotel from the airport was a mess. going straight through the website is probably your best bet. cut out the middle man.

Okay, crazy question...what does the hotel have to do with the excursions? I figured we would just get our own transportation. I just realized I spelled "excursions" wrong in the title! the hotel has travel reps you can book trips through. they are usually seated in the hotel lobby. Ours was in the lobby bar. You can book your own thing but they just made it harder for us. We tried to get a cab & the guy stopped us & said we had to get a van through him for twice as much. we had to sneak past him & hop in a cab. the hotel staff was supposed to direct us to this guy when we wanted to plan something, but we got them to let us bypass him & just call our own cab. have you priced transportation? it's a far trip so you might want to make sure that's affordable before you buy anything. [email protected] I was super happy with these guys. we chartered 2 vans for 20 people for $340. That was do go from puerto aventuras to coba. You can get a quote for cancun to xel-ha. I think xel-ha has a shuttle + enterence fee price. I have heard they make a lot of stops. it was nice having our own van to go at our own schedule.
  7. repay her with a crazy ferret picture becks does rock.
  8. you are flying funjet right? i'd probably book it online & plan it all out myself instead of going through lomas (who funjet contracts too). They were the only vendors during our trip that I didn't like. They lied to us constantly & were horribly unorganized. The lomas rep kept trying to sell us a xel-ha package for $75 per person. Not sure how that price compares. We were not interested because we had the coba trip planned. We made the mistake of telling our bellhop we had a trip planned to coba. he told us our tour provider was banned. They will try to get you to cancel so they can book you something. The lomas guy tried to cancel our groups deep sea fishing trip. Since we had a party of 25 he was relentless trying to sell us something. He tried to keep us from getting a cab to go to Paamul for snorkeling. My advice would be to avoid the lomas guys as much as you can & keep your planned excursions a secret from him. I don't think it was just our guy. I've heard similar things about Lomas. The next day he said he could get a price less than $75 since we were a group. I don't know if this is good or not. We were not interested. He was pretty mad when he saw we went to coba the next day. he told us we messed up & he could have got us the trip for $400. We had paid $340 and had very professional drivers. sorry, i'm ranting. that guy really angered me. Does the online price include transportation? You might want to see what kind of transportation deal you can get. id it your whole group going?

I do like the idea of having the traditional dress for the ceremony, then changing into a lighter one for the dinner/reception (although my fiance probably won't think so lol) I don't have any pictures of it yet, but I will see if I can find it online somewhere sounds like you really have you heart set on traditional so you should do it. even if you are hot, you can tough it out. you might want to look at sunset times & plan to have it when the lighting is it's best. we planned our times before we knew we'd have a pro photographer. we were eating dinner inside when the lighting was it's best. now that I understand, i might have planned things differently. but, it all worked out great.
  10. i think the decision is about what you want to do on the vacation. we are riviera maya people. we loved the ruins, jungle, cenotes, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. we spent very little time laying on the beach & were in bed early so we didn't need a night life.
  11. i sent mine right away. i wrote thank you cards over the weekend for all the gifts we got that week. i like to be really prompt with my thank you cards.

I haven't found much pics or feedback on puerto aventuras, so any help is much appreciated. Thank you soo much Morgan for the pics!! i loved puerto aventuras as a town. The beach was rocky, but there was a nice sandy area in front of dreams pa. I actually enjoyed a rocky beach. There was more sea life than I remember seeing in cancun. We snorkeled & kayaked right there at the hotel. I also loved the lagoon in front of dreams PA. On one side of dreams PA is the hotel I stated at. On the other there are private villas. So I feel like you'd have more privacy on the beach. maybe it was just that way for us because dreams PA is closed, but it was so easy to find a spot on the beach with no one around. I also liked the location of the town. We were about an hour from the airport. We were 20 minutes from PDC & less than 10 minutes from Paamul. Paamul was great. it's a small town with a beautiful beach. there were very few people on the beach & we snorkeled the whole time. There is also a marina right by dreams PA where you can deep sea fish & visit shops. Tulum would be cool because you'd be much closer to the ruins & cenotes.
  13. If you like it I can edit the high res version. I just adjusted the curves & removed a little noise. I feel like it still needs something to make the girl pop. maybe brighten her dress? she is blending in tot eh busy background.

  15. My hairstylist was going to be Annalisa who lives in Playa del Carmen. She had an emergency & was in Italy during my wedding. So my hotel arranged for Finita to fix my hair. She was excellent. I was charged $75 for an updo (medium hair). She arrived early & had the lobby call to see if I'd want to start early or wait. I decided to get started. Her sister Elena came with her to assist. They were both so nice & really kept me relaxed. I have found getting an updo to be stressful sometimes. This was great & completely relaxing. I showed her my inspiration sheet & she took it from there. She also never pulled my hair or hurt me. She said she learned how to be gentle from fixing her daughter's hair. I thought I'd share her contact info for anyone looking for a stylist in the area. She also owns a salon in Puerto Aventuras. [email protected] telephone 87 353 79 cell 984 127 1623
