  1. before you make the decision to sell, just know that you won't get back a large percentage of what you paid. I don't know about everyone, but when I've known someone who sold theirs they got about 1/2 of what they paid. Would you consider no band? I don't have a band. I love my ring on it's own. Your ring has the same simplicity that I love about mine. I think that is why a band is taking away from it, not adding to it. My ring is also 4 prong & round. 3 of my married friends were visiting me recently & they all said they prefered their ring without the band.

Also, warn your guests not to trust them.

I had so much on my mind with the wedding that I didn't want to even try to memorize them. I wish I would have. I can usually memorize things so easily I should have just done it. So I had the notecard out, but I wanted to look at mike not the card. so i lost my place. i'll see how it actually sounds when I watch the video, but I feel like I did a bad job reading them. Then mike went next & he was so awesome. I alos kissed him after i read mine & then realized we weren't supposed to kiss yet. it just felt like the natural thing to do after reading vows to him. oh well, it wasn't an audition for anything. If I was overwhelmed with emotion & got flustered that is fine.

I just realized that I didn't cry at all. we wrote our vows 2 days before on beach chairs at the ceremony site & read them to each other. I cried so hard. so maybe I got it all out for the ceremony.

All we wanted to do was ride together (there were 6 of us) since we made the transfer together and we were on the same flight. So, yeah, I agree. our guy did the same thing! did your guy look like danny devito? he accused my mom of lying. and they were just trying to get on the same shuttle. everyone was leaving around the same time, but they ended up split between 4 shuttles. he tried to split up my mom & aunt who were on the same flight. my aunt paid extra to take the connecting flight instead of the non stop just to avoid riding the shuttle alone. the meeting we had with him the first day should have been to get everyone on the same shuttle. instead he spent the whole time trying to sell us a trip to xelha. grrr....I wanted to tell him off so bad but I didn't because I figured he'd cancel our airport shuttle. I need to get around to filing a complaint.

Belize is also beautiful and the dollar goes pretty far. Next year, DH and I are going to Greece, so I think you should just wait and you can tag along with us! LOL I have a client with a second home there who has offered it up. I need to check and see how serious he was about letting us use the house. My understanding is that Bora Bora is very expensive and I know I would want to stay there for two weeks or more since it takes a while to get there. That might be better saved for a later vacation. I completely agree. If we took a seperate honeymoon it would have been to Belize or Costa Rica. Before I go somewhere I want to have time to research it extensively. It took so much time to plan out our trip last year to london, paris, & normandy. I wouldn't have been able to plan both the wedding & that trip. But, then not everyone likes to be as prepared as me. I just felt like it helped us get the most out of our time there & not run in to any unexpected expenses. So I personally would not want to have the honeymoon be the dream trip. I'd rather save that for another year when I have time to really plan it right.

Don't think I'm crazy BTW can you tell us who this wicked cool photographer is? I'd like to stalk her blog My coworkers think I'm obsessed with weddings because I often spend my lunch break looking at photographer's blogs.

I spent a lot of time talking to my photographer, Kristie, about locations to trash the dress & ideas for pictures. It would have been awesome to go to Riviera Maya ahead of time & scout out places to trash the dress. It was a little overwhelming to show up at the cenote for the first time for each of us & figure out where to shoot. But, you can make it work. There was also something cool about taking in the beauty of a place for the first time and finding cool spots for photos. It was like an adventure. She also scouted out places the day before the wedding near the hotel. So on the day of the wedding she told us about a cool little lagoon down the beach. We took some wedding day pictures & day after pics there. I also swam in it the following day. If it's something you can afford to do, I think it will be fun. I couldn't budget for it, but I would have really enjoyed a scouting trip. Actually, I find myself wanting to go back to riviera maya & scout out all the cool spots for pictures. oh, to be a photographer living in such a beautiful area...

I'm so happy we did it legal in the states.

Don't worry about asking him what program. I've learned movie maker & it works for me. I was just wondering if you were using it too & needed help. Don't forget to share it with us!!

  16. I just read over your first post. I hope to do the same thing. I want one edit that is the length of a song. Then I want to make a slightly longer edit for family.
  17. I didn't know how many songs our videographer needed so i gave him a bunch on a cd in order of preference. this isn't the order (i don't have that saved) but they are DMB & santana- love of my life david grey - this year's love maroon 5 - she will be loved weezer - island in the sun RHCP - soul to squeeze DMB - crush incubus - stellar we had all of these songs playing with our post ceremony mix. Who was your videographer? Mine was mike cantarell. I don't know how long my video will be. I'm hoping it's a file I can trim down into a short thing for the AHR. I want to combine the video with pictures. I have found when I'm trying to set pictures to the beat of a song, something with hard notes like a piano works really well.
  18. i watched it this morning. i kept saying "im the bride" too during the trip. but, it was always for silly reasons. like we wanted to take food to go from the buffet to eat on a terrace. my friends asked if it was allowed & I said, "yeah, I'm the bride." It just continued throught the trip. it was fun. too bad I didn't know to say it as BRIIIIDDDDE.

I don't know her contact info though. I've been told she is very good too. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12143 $160 sounds way too high to me.

So fun to see/hear about your wedding - thanks for all of the things you've shared! just keep in perspective that no one will notice if things aren't the way you planned. people won't remember the details. they will remember the great time they had. my favorite wedding ever was so simple, but we had a blast. my best memories are the great times I had with my husband, family & friends. also, don't feel like you have to be in charge & on top of everything. that was the hardest part for us. it was hard not to feel like the group tour guide & just relax.

There are several cenotes that have a cool root/ light hole. There is one near chichen itza that is beautiful. It's such a beautiful landscape. I definitly want to go back to a cenote. To get my cenote fix, I'm going swimming in a rock quarry this weekend.
  22. I have too many favorites, but this is my favorite of the day warning- these are very low resolution versions of my pictures. see the bat!! warning- these are very lo resolution versions!
  23. my mom used to home school. she'd take me along with her when I was in elementary school. it was mostly high school girls who were pregnant. she went to their homes though. they didn't come to ours. so I'm not sure how that would work with a baby. she was a high school teacher at the time & they were always looking for someone to take this position. I do think using your degrees is your best bet for getting a good job from home. The town we lived in was right by corpus. there is bound to be something like this in the corpus school district. did you already work in corpus? are you in their system? if not, i'd still make calls anyway. i'll ask my mom, but i think these positions are usually in demand.
