  1. There's the Party Hopper Tour for $65 per person. It includes entrance fees/cover charges, open domestic bar plus express entrance pass. The bars they go to are Congo Bar, Dady Rock, Senor Frogs, & Coco Bongo. This is great 'cause those lines at the clubs could get very long esp. Coco Bongo. The convenience is worth it!
  2. PAULA!!! Your big day is right around the corner. I just want to say Congrats and can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures...
  3. Very very nice!!! Still working on my invitation. I got too inspired that I decided to DIY my invitation. It's a whole lot of work. I sometimes wish I should have just ordered.
  4. I vote #2. I love calla lilies and orchids together! It looks stunning! Personally, instead of tulips, I'd go with orange roses.
  5. Susan, you may have answered this already, but did you use a travel agent?
  6. Great topic... We put a blurb in our website that we'd prefer all guest to stay in the same resort, but understand that not all may be able to due to costs or availability at the time of reservation. We mentioned that a day pass is required if they are not staying at Dreams. We did not say we will pay, but if someone asked us if we can cover their day pass, then we will. I'm hoping that we won't need to cover anyone. Where I stand on this is that the guest should pay for the day pass since they chose to stay outside of the resort that the wedding will be held. They should factor in the day pass fee to the savings they are getting by staying in another resort.
  7. Susan, you are one organized woman!!! The delivery of your review is fantastic. I felt like I was there at your wedding. Can't wait to hear more... Can you pls. post your florist contact info. I'm thinking of switching to Daniella now. These reviews are so helpful.
  8. Wow Dragonfly, where did you get these fans? They're pretty nice.
  9. Congrats Katherine! Can't wait to read your review as well since we're having our reception in the ballroom.
  10. WELCOM BACK JILLY!!! Congrats! Thanks for writing a thorough review. It's very helpful.
  11. Azucar, the lounge/club next door is another option.
  12. Welcome back & congrats Susan!!! Can't wait to hear your reviews. I haven't signed the contract with Citlalli 'cause I want to read your reviews first.
  13. I vote for Firedancers! In Cancun, I read packages start at $1,500 per hour. Mariachi Band is $1,100 for 45 minutes but a Mariachi Trio is only $530 for 45 minutes. I think Mariachi Trio would be a great intro and more relax so appropriate for rehearsal dinner. The firedancer would be awesome for the wedding entertainment.
  14. Aside from Susan, is anyone else hiring a DJ or other form of entertainment? I'm in that phase of the wedding planning and could use some recommendation. Thanks! By the way, I also booked Citlalli for photos and Miguel for videos.
  15. Im booking with Claudia's studio using her associate, Citlalli and Miguel for video. All of their associate takes great photos so just in case one cannot make it, I wouldn't be too disappointed with the replacement.
  16. Definitely let the wedding coordinator know you are visiting and set up time to meet with them. Also, prior to going there, narrow down your choices. The water is inviting and instead of doing site visits, you may just want to relax on the beach. When we went in August, the wedding coordinator waived the day pass fee for us so we spent the day at the resort and ate in all the restaurant. We wanted to make sure that the food and service was great. We planned to visit 2 AI resorts and ended up only going to one, Dreams Cancun. To us, Dreams had everything we were looking for.
  17. Yeah, I visited Dreams in August and put my deposit while I was there. So far, I've sent out STDs, bought my dress (still looking for BM dress) and secured a photographer and videographer. I'm now onto finding a DJ and possibly other form of entertainment like fire dancer (if not too expensive). June is still a long way from now so I think I'm moving at an pretty good pace. I'm anticipating the last 4 months prior to the wedding to be the busiest since all the little stuff have to be done then. I'm also slowly collecting stuff for my OOT bags and have tasked one of my BM who works at J&J to purchase items for my OOT bags (this is actually a great help). I've also been looking for invitations, which we plan to send out in late January. How about you? How's it going so far?
  18. I'm having a Tuesday wedding! At a minimum, our guest would have to take off 3 days from work.
  19. Dreams is surrounded by water on 3 sides. There's a spot on one of the sides with a small beach and there's also palapa huts lined up (it's next to the gazebo). That beach is fairly quiet so great for private parties. We're getting married in the gazebo but will definitely go to the beach to take photos. Whatever you decide for your ceremony, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Either are great choices...
