    we are going to register because we are having an AHR. If we were not having an AHR I would not register because I don't want my wedding guests to buy us gifts. It's going to cost them a lot to get there so i don't want them have to fork over even more money for a gift!

    I'm also paying for my BM's dresses, but not their rooms or flights. We are thinking of covering the costs of everyones airport transfers, which will be about $40 per person, but we haven't decided for sure yet.

    We will probably get married before we go. I don't want to tell anyone about it, but I'm considering having my BIL perform the symbolic ceremony so I'm guessing he would have to know about it...Right?? I guess there is no way around him not knowing is there?

    I haven't been to PPR yet, but we are planning on having our wedding there in May 2008. I absolutely love this resort (from the pics anyway!!) and can't wait to go!

    Yeah I didn't think it would be legal to do it officially in DR. I guess I'll just have him do the symbolic ceremony in DR and then do the civil ceremony before we go. Thanks ladies!

    Well my BIL doesn't know spanish so him translating the ceremony is not really an option. Maybe they would let him do the symbolic ceremony and then we could just do the civil part before we leave...But I'm not sure about this one, cause I don't want all our guests to know that we got "married" before the actual ceremony and if my BIL does it, then my whole family will know.

    My brother-in-law is an ordained minister here in the US...I would like for him to marry us in Punta Cana next year. Is this even legal? And how would I go about it? Would we have to do the civil ceremony here then the symbolic ceremony in PC? I would prefer to just do it all in PC, but I'm not sure if that would make the marriage legal since he's not from DR. Does anyone know anything about this?

    I saw the shell idea the other day and thought it was cute. And I love the idea of the little treasure chest for the rings also! Now I'm not sure which to use!

    I voted to walk alone...I love the idea of FH watching me walk down the isle, it's so romantic! I'll be having my dad walk with me down the isle.

    we are not going to do a rehersal dinner, but we will probably do a welcome dinner the first night at the resort.

    We are giving out OOT bags and fans for the ceremony. We are staying at an all-clusive so for the welcome dinner I'm hoping we can just make reservations at one of the restuarants and call it good! The package that we are getting includes a dinner for the reception so we are covered there too. Other than that I love the idea of using the resorts free stuff and then giving out prizes. I may have to use that one! We also will probably be paying or partially paying for a few of our guests trips...
