  1. Thats awesome. I am putting together the music and needed to make sure I wasnt going to long. So you say it took your bridal party and yourself 5 mins and 35 secs to get to your groom? I will plan accordingly. haha

  3. Here I come again: I was just thinking of this checklist and are there any suggestions as to what is really needed to get ready for the wedding. For instance: 1. Hair dryer, curlers, hot iron, extra towel. ? stuff like that what did you find you needed and were glad you brought? TYAT
  4. Question for you ladies: How many mins did it take you to walk to the groom from the top of the spa area? Also, I have 9 attendants...I know I know.....we're all kinds of traditions of Italian, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Spanish, Lebanese, Irish, English...I'm sure there's some other stuff in the pot as well. So anyway, we have a lot of love walking with us. ( 9 women and men, My Father and myself ) how long will that take us to walk to the groom and minister? TY
  5. We decided upon the Riu Jalisco. It is an all inclusive resort and because of the high season our wedding is being held, much advice was to just put all the food and drinks / accomodations into one price. It actually wasn't that bad considering a lot of our guests enjoy lots of food and drink. We will certainly give our comments once back. One of our guests is using their points and staying at the Westin. We'll also give our comments on their take of the hotel once we get back. It's so hard to know where to stay without actually going on a site visit. We opted for advice and reading comments online. We did get advice on renting a home there Casita's I think they are referred to. But there are to many of us to do that and be scattered throughout PV. I even heard of a couple marrying at the home they rented. I hear they are very lovely. Idea for a smaller wedding perhaps.
  6. SATURDAY, JANUARY 5, 2008 LAS CALETAS RIU JALISCO WEDDING HOTEL...HERE WE COME!!!
  7. Hahaha You are so right. Cove not Island. Our visit with Kellie was great because she was and is so helpful. They are beginning to go to the US shows. I think there isn't another place that is this type of affordablity where you get the feel of an island anywhere around the US general area. And the Islands that are available are very expensive. The show in downtown was not what I consider a great show, but meeting Kellie was worth the trip. I think she mentioned some other shows they would be attending in Texas. From what I saw of the venues Las Caletas was like no other. I originally had Cancun as the wedding site, the saw a slideshow of a wedding of a friend in Las Caletas and after a phone call and expense account check. Well, Jan 5 here we come. So so lucky to have found this venue.
  8. Yes due to your suggestion. I bought a second dress. I love it!!! Now I can roll around in the sand and not worry about it getting to dirty, although it is white Yikes!!!
  9. I think the greatest thing about Las Caletas is that a bride can have her dream wedding in whatever vision she and the staff can accommodate. Las Caletas will always be the natural setting due to its protection enviromentally but for some brides those extra things mean a lot. The fact that Las Caletas is such a beautiful place will eventually bring more couples to enjoy their moments there. I think its a wonderful opportunity for anyone to have what appears to be their own private island for 5 or so hours. As I've gone through hundreds of photos and sites looking at each brides choices...I found them unique and beautiful in their own way. I'm so happy Chris and I get to experience Las Caletas in our way. John Huston's Paradise is about to be shared with many others who will also interpret their vision...and that's a good thing. and its in part due to many of us who will share it with our family and friends. That's how we found LC through a friend and now we go to share it with ours. Its inevitable that Las Caletas become a popular wedding venue, for all the reasons we fell in love with it. But fret not ladies the cove is protected and will always remain that natural cove, simple and God given.
  10. Hi Girls, Went to the Dallas show and met Kelly. Nicole couldn't be there for this trip. Also, Lori, another bride was there to represent and bring her newly engaged friend to the show. First off Kelly is delightful and very helpful. Probably the biggest realization was the fact that Adventure Weddings not only accomodates the wedding but they can also help with tours and even give some names to help set up reservations in the hotel and restuarants. I think you have to make that call but they have some insight into helping you out if you cant figure out how to make that inital contact. I was impressed with Kelly's easy going personality and laughter. After going to see the video they had set up, I realized that there probably will be an unbelieveable sense of romance and beauty when we see Las Caletas for the first time. I am positive that this wedding ceremony will be more than either Chris and I ever imagined. If you dreamed of being on a seculed island with only nature as your backdrop, the most primitive sounds from the jungled coastline, the water crashing up on the rocks and a million candles everywhere. Welcome to Las Caletas. And I havent even been there yet! Lori said her guests upon arrival to the cove were sweeped into another place not Mexico but a tropical island somewhere private and serene. She said they speak of it even today. The beautiful wedding they attended in Las Caletas blew them away. Do I sound like an advertisment ............I think the staff and LC will speak PR loud and clear once we all take our turn at saying I do. Yeah..........I'm so happy Chris and I found this off the beaten place I can't imagine it was anything but God given.

  15. If I'm correct she said yes to fondant due to their new equipment. In 2 wks she said they'd be getting that equipment. "The cake will be fine, they are getting some new decorating tools in the next 2 weeks and they say they can do anything." Quote from the bakers to Nicole. " Send her an email and make sure thats correct but it appears they can now do many things. I'm telling you girls )brides...Las Caletas is going to be a big deal w/ brides very soon in terms of matching up head to head w/ the hotels in PV. I'm glad we are coming in on the beginning of the progress.
