Hi Ladies, I wanted to ask about the Riu Jalisco and anyone staying there. We were told we'd have shuttle service from the airport to the resort and then back to the airport. Did anyone find that to be a problem. Where were the shuttles and who do we look for in terms of the type of shuttle. Does anyone know TY Ahead of Time

Hi Holley, I think I'm the next bride going out to LC on Jan 5. I will take one zillion pics for you to see the place. The brides before us have done such a great job helping show the facility. I havent seen it yet and wont until Jan. 1 when we do a sight viewing. By that time all will be ready. I do know I can take some of my things out there on that visit and leave it so I dont have to bother with it the day of. We are going out early as well all 9 of my bridesmaids and 2 moms so 12 all together. We're going to get massages and begin getting ready for the guys and our guests. We ended up with 79 people total and that works out to such a blessing. There are a couple of new things we have purchased working with Nicole. 1) Cigar rollers 2) Fireworks display just before we land back in PV after the wedding. We are so excited about them and used our monies differently to purchase these things for our guests. As you can imagine the men and some women enjoy cigars. The fireworks seem to be such a fantastic ending to the evening organized events, we feel so happy to do this for them. We are NOT having Live music instead using CD's. We are having a slideshow. The firedancers, and all the rest that most of the other brides have done. We choose the pkg for 80 people and over since we originially had 150 guests who were coming. I would suggest that Jan is not the most economical time to go to Mexico for a wedding but in the end it will be amazing. I'm just sorry the timeframe didnt work out for a lot of our guest. Nicole is indeed a great asset to Adventure Weddings. They are as we are very lucky to have her and Kelley work with us. They have both been so helpful and we are so confident that all will run smoothly. We plan to get off that boat and say Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Jan 5 shortly after returing I'll work on the pics and my thoughts on the whole process for those of you who are getting ready to go. ** We went to the search sites here and it helped so much picking out our music using ideas from past brides. We loaded our music on CD's. No live music for us. ** We are going into town and purchasing our flowers for the bridesmaids, groomsman, mothers of the bride/groom, grandmothers, fathers. We have a designer with us so we are going to do that as a fun project. Nicole is going to have my bouquet, groom boutionniere, floral arrangement made for us per our contract. ** We are bringing items over from Dallas to PV. for the tables ** Table runners we are renting from Nicole for the dinner tables ** We are surprising our guests with a funky dance just after our wedding song. Much like whats been seen on YouTube. ** No videographer, Photographer from Dallas ** Trash the Dress the day after the wedding ** Gift bags we'll do once we get to PV. Purchased the bags here and stuffing them w/ items from PV once there ** Our cake will have fondant on it and thats $5 per person to do that. 3 tiers ** Mostly, Nicole has been able to organize everything we asked and do it in a way that makes us very comfortable. As I said I'll bring back as many details in pics as I can. Happy planning! See ya'll soon.Newbie getting ready to be old HAT

Hi, Just under a month and Chris and I will be the next couple saying I love you forever under the beautiful sunset at Las Caletas. I have 1 zillion ?'s and find myself waking up in the middle of the night in excitement. I have some questions for those before us. Here goes.... 1. How many people joined you for the wedding on LC? 2. How was your dinner seating arrangement? How many per table etc. 3. Did you use CD's for music or Ipod? How was that? Did it truly matter that you didn't hire a LIVE band? 4. How long did it take you to walk down from the spa to the alter? How many people were in the wedding? And was the timeframe of music you used enough? 5. How much percentage did you tip Nicole who is completely AMAZING. Or did you? Of which we are but wondered the percentage to do. She is worth the whole bundle but of course can't do that 6. Did anyone stay at the Riu Jalisco Resort? 7. What is the BEST memory of marrying in Las Caletas for you and hubby? 8. What would you have done different? if you could have changed anything? 9. Is there something in the water because a lot of brides are going to have a baby after returning from their wedding hahahaha 10. For those of you who married in the winter as we are. I noticed the video's and pictures were dark. What suggestion do you have about that? We did not hire a videographer, our uncle will film but we decided this because of the lighting situation. We didnt feel it was worth the money to have it this way. As I mentioned we are filming but not with a professional. 11. I would love to see anyone's and everyone's pictures from their LC wedding. You have all helped us so much in envisioning the way LC looks, especially since Chris and I won't see it until the 1 Jan, 08. In some ways I don't want to see it until that day but then again I feel we might just fall in love and feel so blessed to have others come see it as well. Thank you all. On another note: We are doing two new things new to LC. One is the cigar man roller. 50 cigars for $450.00. We did this because many of our guests do smoke cigars and we were going to purchase them anyway but felt instead to do this fun presentation for them. Also, in the last month I believe, fireworks have been okay'd as we head back to the pier in Puerto Vallarta. The fireworks will go off for us for 3 mins cost: $1,500.00. Yes, its a lot of money for both deals but we wanted our guests to have some special moments and we decided to use our budget on them as opposed to the band and videographer. I can't wait to share our wedding with you all. You have been a great resource for Us and we thank you so much for your help. If you have any advice or suggestions please feel free to share, you are my sister's off Las Caletas and I truly appreciate your past experiences and constant advice to us waiting to go through ours. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you. I sort of hope the water's having some magic in it myself. Who knows Las Caletas Nursery...will be next online. dancing on the ceiling as I get ready to jet off to Las Caletas

chrisnessa replied to kitesurf_bride's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Welcome Back and thank you for the review and especially Pics. We'll be going to PV in 7 weeks as of tomorrow for our wedding. This all makes US so excited. Your photographers did a great job. You choose well to use them. CONGRATULATIONS!!! -
We are staying at Riu Jalisco Resort. They also built a new one Riu Vallarta next to it, which I heard is more contemporary. We wanted Old School so took Jalisco. Its All Inclusive and thats what our guests preferred. I think we are about 10 mins from the docking area to go on the boat to Las Caletas. We are so excited just over 7 wks left to go.

Congratulations. I just saw your thread. I did enjoy the pics as well...so beautiful. Happiness your way. -
I did not ask that question. I'll send a message her way Yes there is someone who is making them. One of the guests is a designer! Since its in January I think they are putting the flowers in a box w/ tubes of water and then arranging at the location in the morning. But I surely will ask them about that. I did find a shop. flowerstogovallarta.com That said they would sell single flowers for us. It will save us about 400.00 to do this method. We have a ton of people in the wedding. My bouquet and his bout. and one large arrangement is being made by the Las Caletas contract. So thats great TY for your advice I'll send email now

Did anyone go to the flower shop or market in PV and make their own bouquets and boutonnieres? I want simple and $40 a pop for 9 women and then 10 a pop for the men I am thinking to gather flowers and wrap them with satin ribbon isnt going to be a hard thing to do? So I know there is a Sams there as well. Did anyone of you do this? White roses in a bundle thats all I want.
