So Jason and I have officially set the date, May 25, 2008 at a private estate in Nuevo Vallarta! We are having Kristin at the Dazzling Details coordinate the event and we are thrilled, however, we are having some trouble settling on a photographer. Of all of the photographers Kristin recommended we like Paulina Ulloa the best. Has anyone been in contact with her? We are a bit worried that her packages may be too small...

How exciting! I just finalized the plans for my Memorial Day Weekend '08 wedding in Nuevo Vallarta! We are staying at the Grand Mayan, which is amazing (I stayed there last year)! I am sure the Mayan Palace in PV is amazing too!

You may want to think about getting the Sofia dress in another color. My bridesmaids are wearing it in Tangerine and it is REALLY flattering on all 6 of them, and they all have really different body types! I know a few colors recently went on sale...

I am having a dazzling details wedding and I can tell you that Kristin can do everything and anything! She is amazing to work with and super creative. I am getting married at a private estate so I need a WC, but if dreams has one, and you have already selected your vendors, then I don't see why you would need to hire outside help!

I am on a posting frenzy tonight! I am trying to get a general budget together to share with my fiance and I was wondering how much DJs and bands cost (on average) in PV. I have been quoted some outrageous amounts by wedding coordinators, and so I want to see if they are accurate (i.e. $550 an hour for live music, $200 and hour for a DJ!).

Is anyone working the Dazzling Details? I would love some feedback! Thanks!

Ok, so I am getting very discouraged with the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta (my #1 pick) because their wedding coordinator is M.I.A. I recently heard of someone getting married at a private estate in Puerto Vallarta and it was supposedly amazing. Does anyone know how to find out about such locations? Thanks

I am not sure if this is the best place to post this question, but I am wondering around how much resorts in Mexico charge per person for food and alcohol (a rough estimate is fine). I know in Los Angeles, a modest estimate is between $80 and $100 before service and tax. I am beginning to plan a budget and thought that might be a good place to start.

I am recently engaged and my Fiance and I have not planned anything yet. We have always dreamed of getting married at the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta (my parents are members), however, we cannot seem to get a hold of anyone in their weddings department! That's where you all come in! We live in Los Angeles and if we have the wedding here, we will have around 250-300 guests (which is way too many). We think a destination would bring the list down to 100-150. Ideally, we would like to get married next Memorial day weekend or 4th of July weekend (we like the idea of a 3-day holiday weekend). Any advice on Mayan Palace or Puerto Vallarta/Nuevo Vallarta weddings would be great! Thanks!
