How do you incorporate extr veggies in your diet>
NYJen replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Put low fat peanut butter on celery and apples. That helps!!! I personally like cooked broccoli better than raw. Saute it in oil and garlic (both of which are good for your heart too.) When ordering pizza, always put some veggie on it (mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, peppers, anything.) Same for pasta - get primavera. Always add lettuce and tomato to your sandwiches - every little bit helps. -
Ok, I just checked my order and it WAS shipped. In fact, it's in route to my house right now. I was planning to start on August 1st (beginning of the new month) but I'm so excited, I may start tomorrow.

I just noticed my credit card hasn't even been charged yet. (Which leaves me to believe it has not been shipped. Not sure what that's about.) Yes, they do have an All-Veggie Program.

When he is done he usually has used every pot, pan, frypan, and bowl. I have to admit I hate day to day cooking, it is so boring, but I love throwing dinner parties and cooking for my friends. When Brendan cooks, I swear he does the same thing. I think he uses every spoon in the house. Drives me NUTS!!!!

I lost my ring today!

It's hard to think that ... but ... it's the only thing that keeps me going through the day. I hear ya!!! And that's a great way to look at it. But this is why I never lie and never steal. I'm too afraid it's going to come back to haunt me some day. One night when I left work, I was walking to the subway when a tourist couple walking in front of me dropped their shopping bag from Tiffany's. I have no idea what was in it, but I picked it up and gave it back to them. I would NEVER keep something that wasn't mine. First of all - it's not mine. Second - I'm too afraid I would get bad luck for the rest of my life. My secret wish for the person that stole your ring is that they get nothing but bad luck forever. -

They had my lotion ... but said there was no ring. I've filed a police report, checked pawn shops and put up cash reward signs ... but to no avail. FI is in Iraq so I can't get the paperwork for it -- just the receipt from the jeweler. SO, I had to buy a look-alike until he gets home and we can file the claim. But nothing will ever replace it -- I told him I just want a wedding band now, and will wear the look-alike knock-off until our wedding day so I at least look/feel engaged. I'm sssooo glad you found yours before it was too late!!! Oh, that's so upsetting. I hope the person who stole it gets bad karma forever because of it. -
Dancing Shoes for Guests

What are you going to put them in at the wedding, are you going to have them at the ceremony site, or the reception site, and did you buy random colours. Whew, that was alot of questions! Kelly~ There are a lot of things you can do with this idea. 1. If you're having your ceremony on the beach, you can have them in a basket right where the sand starts and guests can take them from there. Or 2. Also, if you're having your ceremony on the beach, you can put buckets of rose water right where the sand starts so after the ceremony your guests can wash off their feet and then grab a fresh pair of flip flops to put on. Or 3. You can just put the flip flops in a basket at the reception site for the female guests to take once their high heels start to hurt. I just ended up getting all different colors and different sizes. I'm going to take off the plastic hanger thingy that Old Navy put on them to tell you what size they are and instead I'm going to tie each pair of flip flops together with ribbon and attach a tag with the size. Have fun with this. Your guests will love it. -

Stole this idea from a bride on TheKnot. I went to Old Navy and bought 40 pairs of flip flops (different colors and different sizes.) I'm going to put them in a basket at the reception with a sign on it that says, "Dancing Shoes." I'm sure the women will love that they don't have to dance barefoot on the cement if their high heels start to hurt them.

How about a Coleman cooler. Like the one that holds a 6 pack of beer. It's definitely got a beachy them to it.

Place Cards - IDEAS NEEDED! Please!
NYJen replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I'm planning to use bright colored leather luggage tags. This will also be their favor. But I like some of the other ideas on here too. Maybe I'll use the "champagne glass" or "mini message in a bottle" idea for the Welcome Dinner seating. -
How about a footed cake plate with a different dessert on each table. For example: Table #1 = Brownies Table #2 = Cookies Table #3 = Pastries Table #4 = Cupcakes You get the idea. This can be part of your "dessert hour" at the end of the reception and guests can mingle to the different tables for some snacks.

Beach Ceremony - no chairs - is this a big deal?
NYJen replied to Alyssa's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I've been to one wedding in my life where we had to stand. It was a more formal event in a Woman's Club and everyone was dresses up with heels and everything - so that was kind of annoying. But if it's on the beach, I don't think anyone will be wearing shoes anyway. Maybe you can do something unique like have all your guests gather around you guys in a circle rather than only be looking at you from one direction. That could make it more fun and personal, and possibly distract everyone from the idea that they're standing. -
OOT Bags overboard
NYJen replied to Darlsay's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
If you are having your wedding at a resort, check with the onsite WC and see if you can ship the stuff directly there. And from what I hear, don't ship via DHL - only Fed Ex. It may be a bit more money, but chances are it won't get "lost." And by that, I mean stolen. Also, I just bought stripped towels from Target for $5.99 each. It was a pretty good deal. You may want to look into it now since it's a seasonal item. -
