I'm not sure how good of a friend he was, but at this point, if it's not worth it to you to remain friends with him, I wouldn't respond to any of his emails, phone calls or anything. I'm not familiar with Myspace, is there a space to leave a note, comment or email? If so, don't say anything. Let him see that you haven't commented and let him come to you and address your requests first. Since you tried repeatedly to contact him about his address, I would wait until he replies to you. Maybe I'm being petty, but I too am sick of people like this. Sometimes I feel like they need a little taste of their own medicine to see how it feels.

WOW!!! What a great house!!! You can even use the beautiful outdoor space for part of your event. AWESOME!!! You're going to have so much fun!!!!

I'm doing the same thing too. My WC told me another great way to use them. We're going to put buckets of rose water at the edge of the sand near the cement. So after the ceremony, everyone can wash off the sand from their feet and grab a fresh, clean pair of flip flops.

Bottom line - you need to do what YOU want for your wedding. When Brendan and I first starting talking about having our wedding in Cabo, we were really excited but I was a bit nervous about the cost for our guests. I even went as far as looking into places in NY to have our wedding so I could avoid all those issues. I looking into those typical long island caterering halls but none of them "did it" for me. I couldn't find anything that made me as happy as the idea of getting married on the beach in Cabo. So our attitude at that point was, "We're doing it in Cabo and if it turns out that it's just us and Juan Carlos (the photographer), we're happy." What's most important is that you get the day you want. You can look at it like you're eloping and if some of your family and friends can make it, great!!! If not, well at least you got the day you wanted.

Kelly's teasers-ttd
NYJen replied to dragonfly's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Wow!!!! Great pics!!! And I think you're right, those may be the sexiest ones I've seen so far. Make sure you keep those away from the kiddies. BTW, Welcome back. We missed you. You have to fill us in on everything. -
That sounds sooooooooooo much better than Nutrisystem. Wish they had that here in NY. The cheapest thing they have here is $39.99 a DAY!!! Too expensive for me. So far, I've lost 6 pounds in just under 3 weeks on Nutrisystem. Not too bad considering I haven't worked out at all. BUT. . . the food is weird. It's ALL pantry food. NOTHING goes in the fridge. Strange!!!! For example, they give you chicken salad and turkey hotdogs that don't need to be refrigerated. What's wrong with that picture Anyway, as far as cost, it's not bad at all. I think it works out to just under $10 a day. But I don't see anyone being able to stay on it for a long period of time. All those preservatives can't be good for you. So, I decided to finish the month of food they sent me and then go back to WW. I've always done well on WW. It just takes a little more time and effort to count everything out. Oh well.

Why did you choose your date?
NYJen replied to twinkletoes's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Our wedding date is actually our 10 year anniversary. We were set up on a blind date on April 6th, 1998 and we're getting married on April 6th, 2008. -

I added in that all tables, chairs, china, linens and chair covers are included (Thanks Kash.) I also listed a specific date that the 80% F&B deposit will be due (rather than just saying 15 days before we arrive.) And since I am outsourcing Jennifer Hatton for my cake, I listed on the contract that the cake and desserts will be brought in from outside. Other than that, it looks good. Just make sure you check the math on the numbers too. Emeline got it wrong on the first contract and I had to change it. Oh, and Emeline didn't recommend a photographer. I got Juan Carlos from recommendations here on the forum. Quote: Originally Posted by gkashmira Jen - You must feel fantastic and relieved to have that part over with! BTW I totally recommend the Sun Fun Hut over the Whale Wacthing terrace - it's really private - looks out over the ocean of course and also will have some shade for your cocktail hour... But whatever you decide it is really going to be the wedding of your dreams! I do feel better. Thanks for all your help. We're getting married on 04.06.08 (our 10 year anniversary - we met on a blind date.) I think we're using the Sun Fun Hut for our cocktails and the Whale Watching for our reception. Do you think that's good?

She's pretty awesome, but if she can't make it, maybe she has some recommendations for you?? She has given me some other recommendations and they look good, but I really want Leigh. I've seen her stuff and I think she's great. Plus I feel like I already know her from here. I've already gotten a quote from her for an ES a BD session and her travel to NY. She's available to come here after Nov 11th (which is perfect because I need the time to lose some weight.)

Between Courtney's ES pics and Ann's wedding pics, I'm totally having "Leigh Miller Envy." I have booked Juan Carlos for my wedding and I'm very excited about that. But I'm seriously considering flying Leigh to NY (she has no plans to be here anytime between now and my wedding.) I never even considered doing an ES and a BD session before I saw her pics. But because she's so good, I HAVE to have her do SOMETHING related to my wedding.

I was originally going to get married in a Villa. But after all my research and the fact that I have a lot of people coming, we decided to have it at a resort. But I thought I would pass along some info that I learned while researching. 1. If you rent a villa in Pedregal, the outside noise must stop at 10:00PM. You will need to move the party inside. I have heard that the police WILL show up. Also, from what I'm told, the beaches in Pedregal are not swimable. So if you stay for a few days (since there will be minimum night requirments) you will have to travel to find a beach that you can swim in. 2. Both Cabovillas and Suncabo will charge you a "touring fee" if you choose to visit the villas in person before booking. Of course, this fee is applied to the cost of the rental. However, we discovered that American Express is affiliated with another company called Villas of Distinction and if you have an AmEx account, you can probably get someone to give you a tour for free. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. I checked out a ton of villas and I actually went to see Villa Vista Ballena in person.

Can I still lose weight not exercising?
NYJen replied to Alisarosenbaum's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Most definitely you can!!! I did WW twice in my life and lost a ton of weight both times. Plus I didn't exercise at all. I just joined Nutrisystem and it works. However, I don't like that all the food they send you is pantry food. (Nothing goes in the refrigerator or freezer - weird's me out.) But Jenny Craig is the same idea and I believe that has mostly frozen foods. And you don't "have" to exercise on these plans in order to lose weight. Let me know if you have any questions. I love WW. Nutrisystem - not so much. -
I love you all. But I voted for my girl Shelley (beachbride.)

Yay, I get to go back to Cabo before the wedding!!!

Yippee!!! That's so exciting. I wish I was going with you. -

Sorry I'm such a spaz about this stuff.

I'm going to have a logo made too. I looked into Aylee Designs (thanks to Shelley - beachbride.) I guess I'm just not sure how it works. They send me the logo and then I can send it to other companies to incorporate into my invitations, programs, fans, signs, etc For those of you that used Aylee Designs and put your logo on your invitations, where did you order your invites from? Did you also use your logo on other things? If so, where did you order everything from? Thanks for your help!

Price per room for your room blocks?
NYJen replied to laurelandjamie's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I am also getting married in Cabo in April 2008. I was given a rate of $295 a night at the Hilton which looks pretty good. (You need to keep in mind that the rates also go up every year. So what some people may have gotten in 2007 will no longer apply to us.) I also reserved the minimum room block of 30 room nights in order to get that rate. I am thinking I may work with Tammy (host) for other options only because I do not have wealthy friends and I'm sure some of them are going to have a hard time with the cost. We are also looking into getting group rates at other hotels. The Marbella Suites at the beach is a good hotel to look into. We have some rooms on reserve with them as well. (Although we needed to start the room block on April 4th but the place is completely booked that day. This somewhat screws me up.) Good luck with your search and let me know what you find out. -
Have you thought about getting your BM's Burberry Bathing suits. I think they run about $200 right now. I think it's such a cute gift idea since it's a DW and you're all at the beach.

One example: I sang in her wedding and had practiced my song during the rehearsal the night before- well, the sound person didn't put the tape in the player correctly and when the music started up and I opened my mouth to sing- it was on the DEMO side! Another voice came over the speakers...I didn't know what to do- didn't want to stop the song, it was during the unity candle lighting...so I just sang along with the person on the tape. It was sooooo embarrassing, but now it's hilarious. I even went and double checked the tape before the ceremony, but apparently they had flipped it over. omg, I wanted to die. That was totally an accident, but it absolutely was the way the entire day went. Sorry to hijack, this story just reminded me of that wedding! That's hysterical!!! Oh, you poor thing. I would have been mortified!!!
