  1. What a cute story. I was laying down too when Brendan asked. How funny.
  2. We chose the Corridor because you can swim in the beach and I liked the bigger resorts. I didn't want to be in Cabo San Lucas. I know our guests will travel into Cabo San Lucas to sight see, so this way they can experience a couple different areas. Plus, we're having our Welcome Dinner in San Jose. So they'll really get a taste of all of Los Cabos.
  3. Not really. We quickly looked at Villa Del Arco and the other one close to it, but I didn't want to be in Cabo San Lucas, I wanted the Corridor.
  4. The Corridor is commonly known as "The Tourist Corridor" because of all the resorts for tourists. Stuff to do is really found in either San Jose or Cabo San Lucas. Both areas are very close to the Corridor (Corridor is between both areas.) And a cab or shuttle ride in either direction is roughly 15 minutes.

  6. I'm going to look at my emails with all the info on the villas (what the rates are, if they will allow a wedding, what the minimum night requirements are, etc.) But off the top of my head, we researched: Villa Amanda Villa Vista Ballena Villa Hayden Casa Luna Llena Casa Paraiso (found on Cabo San Lucas) Villas del Mar 498 (also at suncabo) Most of the villas wouldn't hold our group. Other reasons were because they didn't allow weddings or the event fee/rental fee was too much. But I'll look for that info and get it to you.
  7. We're now getting married at the Hilton (only because we're inviting 118 people and we have no idea how many are going to show.) The only villa in the Corridor that would hold our group is Villa Vista Ballena. We toured this villa in person and it's very nice. I just didn't think it was worth the $10,000 rental fee for one night. That fee didn't include food or anything else, that's just for the space. This is why we settled on a resort. For a party of 40 people, why don't you check out Cabo San Lucas Vacation Villas, Resorts & Hotels, Los Cabos Mexico and take a look at Villa Amanda. It's a great space and they will allow a 3 night minimum with no event fee.
  8. OOoooh, here's a thought: Pink ties on the white chairs, Brown table cloths, Pink napkins

My thing is I want to be able to have my reception party last until everyone is done partying. Some of the villas have noise restrictions. I'm sure you already know this, but if partying late is your concern, stay away from Pedregal (even though their villas are GORGEOUS.) My WC told me that you must stop the noise at 10PM and the cops WILL show up if you're too loud (not what you want on your wedding day.) I did a lot of research on the villas in the Corridor. Let me know if you have any questions.

  11. Keep us posted on your progress. I'm also interested in what your menu was like. I checked out the website but it looks like you have to call and talk to them about your menu, is that right?
  12. I am disappointed. How can you post a thread saying you got your dress and then not have a pic Who is the designer? Maybe the designer's website has a pic of it that you can copy and paste
  13. That was my original idea but after researching, we decided a resort would be a better option for our group. How many people are you inviting?

I would say, go with the white wooden chairs without the covers and ties. They're very pretty and easy to move without worrying that the ties will get messed up. Plus, since you're having your wedding at the Imperial Suite, it's a more casual atmosphere and your guests may move the chairs around themselves after dinner. Again, no worrying about the ties.

So, for my engagement pics I'll make my own book, but the BD book will be from Leigh. Why do you ask? Well, I plan to do BD pics and although I'm not going to do any "naked" shots, they will be kind of racey (is that an old fashioned term or what?) Anyway, I wasn't sure if I should just let the photographer make my album or if I should look into some of those online album making sites (Vistaprint, etc.) But I'm not sure I want to risk having my pictures all over the internet. LOL!!!
  18. Yes, Leigh recommended a friend of her's Angelica Glass. She has a website: Angelica Glass Photography - check her out.
  19. Not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but did you have your photographer make your album? I'm assuming you did so that you wouldn't have to send your very personal pics out and possibly have them fall into the wrong hands.
  20. I know what you're saying. Both are really nice. It's a tough decision. Maybe you can use one type for the ceremony and another for the reception.
  21. That's beautiful - I may "steal" this from you.

I'm not too worried about it, since our wedding is in November, and traveling should be fine. But Jen, you make a good point, general wedding insurance is a great idea...now I just need to look into that. Any suggestions? I actually haven't looked into it yet. (Hmm, I should get on the ball here.) But I think I'm going to check with my home owners insurance first and see what they suggest. I think I'm going to see if I can get enough coverage to cover the travel expenses for my guests too. Not sure how much this is going to cost, but it's definitely worth looking into.

  24. Two quick comments on this issue: 1. We usually book our travel on our American Express card which has an unbeliveable travel insurance program. You actually get a certain amount of money if your bags are lost for a certain amount of time or if your flight is delayed for a certain amount of time. You should look into this. 2. My boss gave me a 15 minute lecture on how I should purchase "wedding insurance." Like travel insurance it will protect you from things out of your control (your house catching on fire and you can't go to your wedding.) He made a good point when he said that with all the money we're spending on the wedding, it makes sense to spend a few hundred $$$ to protect ourselves from a what could be a possible huge loss. I think I'm going to do this since it is a DA and EVERYONE is traveling. Makes sense to protect us from any events out of our control.
