  1. Here is my inspiration: Or maybe this: (but with a different color ribbon).
  2. These ideas are all so awesome! For our guestbook we will be buying postcards (once we get there) and all the guests will get one postcard to write on - we might even mail them home on the wedding day so when we get home, we'll have a bunch of messages from our friends and family.
  3. I'm not too sure yet... depends on how crafty I feel. One girl I know made her own and brought them with her. I think that's what I might do - but I'm not that great with a sewing machine, so we'll have to see.
  4. Okay, the resort has white chair covers that are free to use with the wedding packages. They can get ivory chair covers but you will have to rent them (I don't know the cost cause we're just going to use the white ones).
  5. Oh, thank you ladies!! I've been trying to find paper parasols for a decent price and had no luck. Thanks for the links!!
  6. Really We're staying at the Tulum so I guess we're getting married at the Tulum side. My WC is Jazmin and she's been very helpful and usually gets back to me within 1-2 days. Have you tried phoning?
  7. I just found that site the other day... isn't it awesome!!! We went with the Tequila but the menu Jazmin sent us was a wee bit differnet than the one on the website. We are having: Appetizer: Mexican Platter Buffet Soup: Azteca Entree: Chicken Breast Medallions with other stuff (I can't remember right now, haha) Dessert: 3 Milk Cake We are doing the full legal one. We arrive on Saturday and will be getting married on Wednesday. So it's about 4 days. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure if they're strict or not, as we wanted to be married on the Wednesday and Jazmin said it was fine.
  8. Nope, you're not a pain at all!!! I think everyone around me is sick of "wedding talk" but I love it, haha! So feel free to keep on asking. I was looking at finding my own florist and bringing them into the resort but Bahia's pricing seems to be fair compared to other florists (mind you I haven't seen what their florist can come up with either - but I'm willing to wing it). I decided to just pick my flowers out when I get there... but she will be sending me a few pictures of ideas for the wedding area. Here's the price list that Jazmin sent me: Bride Bouquet from 50 until 345 usd Bridesmaid Bouquet 33 usd Groom Boutteniere from 9 until 48 usd Groomsmen Boutteniere from 9 until 48 usd Centerpieces from 25 until 45 usd Keep in mind that some of the wedding packages include the bride bouquet and groom bout (but you might have to pay extra for upgrages). As of right now, we have 21 guests and two children (ages 5 & 7) coming with us. We went with Signature vacations and they had a promotion on that if we booked ten spots we could reserve 10 extra spots - no deposit required... so we did because we have a few friends/family who aren't sure if they can come or not (one couple is trying for a baby, another is getting married this year, etc.) For our reception we decided to have it in one of the restaurants on the resort (The Tequila). We're on a pretty tight budget and can't splurge too much so this was one of the reasons we chose the Bahia... the supper is included in their wedding packages!! Whoo, sorry it's long... haha.
  9. She is getting back to me about cost (I'm assuming they have an outside vendor do it) - I think the sashes are just white - she said that's the only color she can get the covers in. Bringing in your own cake is a go... she just wanted to remind me that if I have problem with it, it's not their fault - obviously. She didn't send me pictures of beach locations... but I'm not too picky... just want the sand between my toes, haha. Don't worry too much about being in a rush. I'm finding that I have tons of time to search and decide before the big day!
  10. After a bit of confusion (I said I wanted to get married right on the beach and Jazmin sent me the gazebo and palapa pictures again, hehe - my fault, I should have been more clear) Jazmin said that we can get married right on the beach if we wanted to. They have white chair covers that you can rent for an extra cost. Hope that helps!
  11. Okay I asked Jazmin if I could bring in a cake and this was her response: "About the cake question, yes you can, but of course the hotel is not responsible If the cake is not in good condition ( It is very obvios, but I prefer remind it)" So I don't think they mind. Good luck!
  12. No, I didn't. I will though... I'm just waiting for a response from her on another issue and then I'll ask.
  13. Got a reply! Hi Stacy, For a cake similiar to below for 25 people plus delivery to Bahia would be $150 usd. The cake would be on a silver cake stand. Your choice of flavor..anything from vanilla, tres leches, chocolate, carrott, coconut, lemon, etc... It's your day so whatever you like! Lots of time to make that decision. Let me know if can answer anyother questions for you. Jennifer I was asking about the blue cake with the seashells. I've ben searching around and apparently this is a great place to eat also! Will have to add it to my list of places to eat.
  14. Thank you so much!! I emailed her at the bartley email address. I'll let you know what she says.
  15. You know, I'm not sure... I'll email Jazmin to find out - I just assumed you could have it anywhere on the beach if you really wanted - that's what we wanted to do.

Thank you for all the welcomes!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Tlseege Welcome! I'm also looking at the Gran Bahia (Akumal though) but it's basically the same thing. I emailed her asking about bouquets prices - and she's taken a bit longer to reply - might be busy though. For the most part, I've been pleased!
  17. I found this bakery in Akumal Turtlebay Bakery & Cafe just wondering if anyone has used it or heard anything about it. I tried emailing them twice but it didn't work. Also, has anyone tried bringing their own cake to the Bahia Pricipe Tulum?? Just wondering if they had any problems... thanks!!
  18. Firstly, thank you so much MikkiStreak for your template... it's awesome! Here's what I made: Now, does anyone know why my first one has a black background It's just supposed to be white (or transparent) but I can't seem to get rid of it.
  19. Jazmin said that I could bring in an outside Photographer for $90USD. Here are the pictures she sent me of the three different locations you could choose: Hope that helps!

    Howdy!!

Hi all! My name is Stacy and I am marrying my love, Joel, on January 9, 2008 at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum. We were three months into planning our traditional wedding before we decided that going away was the better choice for us! I just started browsing this forum yesterday and have already found it verrrrry helpful!
