  1. Hello Brides! Mexico is one of the few countries that requires the Prenuptial Lab Tests and Medical Certificate, specifically for blood type H.I.V and S.T.D (sexual diseases such syphilis or gonorrhea) with results in 24 hours that in some labs might be a little bit more expensive. The results are valid for fifteen days. Most of the resorts offer medical services for 24 hours so they normally are doing the lab tests, otherwise your external wedding planner will take you to the reliable labs in Playa del Carmen or will send them to your hotel's room. For a Prenuptial Blood Test you can have breakfast before or even drink a glass of wine or a "few" beers the night before. Is important to mention that in case you or your FI have a disease the Justice of the Peace will not marry you even if you want to or are agreed. Hope the above helps! Happy planning!
  2. Yes Nicole, You did the right thing so do not worry. Our best wishes on your upcoming wedding!
  3. Hi Lizzie, If you deal and booked directly with the hotel you are getting all benefits and you are the hotel's directly customer. If you book directly from Tarvelocity or a Travel Agent they will become their main client and will get most of the benefits. I know prices might be more expensive but you can always talk to the hotel and try to get the same prices that the travel agency or travelocity are offering. Also you have to consider that in case they have oversales the guests that are booked directly through the hotel will remain at the hotel, while the others guests might be sent to another hotels... that will be an extreme example but it is just an example. My suggestion will be to talk to the hotel and if they can not offer the same prices that the other companies offers, then you might have to quit to all the benefits that the hotel is offering to you and ask your guests to book through your travel agency or travelocity. The main difference between a travel agency vs travelocity is that through the travel agency you are getting service. Hope it helps and happy planning!
  4. Hi Nicole, I can understand as a customer how you are feeling... BUT since a vendor point of view, here in the area most of the vendors are used to be payed 100% in advance before the wedding. If your vendors are hired through the hotels or are reliable and stablished companies and belong to a forum, I am sure they will do their best in order to fulfill your expectations, perhaps your worries can be acceptable for some mariachis that you find on the street or some small vendors that are not stablished companies but not with the big ones so do not worry... 15 years ago, it happened to me that a Bride wanted to pay in cash directly to certain of her vendors that requested to be payed in cash right after the wedding and she lost all the money somewhere between her room and the reception area... and her credit card was blocked to protect her so she had to ask all her guests to lend her some cash... so it is wise to avoid any type of stress even after your wedding. Happy Planning!

  11. Hello Amandita, I am sorry to hear about your situation. Is important to let you know that most of the all inclusive hotels get started with your wedding 2 months prior your wedding date. Since everything is managed by packages for them is very easy to get together all things in less than 2 months. I know it is not the same for you as a Bride but remember all inclusive coordinators manage around 25-32 weddings per month. Because of the above, many independent wedding planners have a lot of work in All Inclusive hotels! If that is the case, here is a thread that will help you to define the steps before hiring an independent wedding planner for you: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/a/5-steps-to-hire-a-wedding-planner-or-vendor-in-mexico Happy planning!

  14. Hi Amberya, That is the average price for a standard bridesmaid bouquet BUT if you are looking for something more affordable, you can ask him to do his cheapest flowers in the area like roses, carnations, lylies, etc. or for example to use only 8 flowers per bouquet and I am sure he will offer lower prices. You might need to be more specific with them. Good luck!
  15. Hello, I understand how you feel. I used to be the Groups & Conventions Manager at Barcelo and we used to do all the weddings as well 12 years ago! Most of the All Inclusives start planning two months before the wedding date. Since they worked based on packages in less than a week they can arrange with no problems all details BUT you as a Bride do not feel or see things this way, so I suggest to start arranging everything that do not concern directly the hotel by yourself or start looking for all details so when the time arrives you are ready with questions, photos, colors, type of flowers, etc. Sometimes you do not need to stress out before because as I told you most of the hotels have different and their own deadline times to get everything arranged so just talk to your wc on site and ask her if you should start looking for some specifics or wait until she lets you know! Happy planning!
