  1. Hi, We loved this beach club because its privacy but since we have our own catering company we have always rented the whole location for 4,000 usd. plus 11% of tax. I know their menus are starting from 50 usd. plus 15% of service and 11% of tax and their open bar starting from 55 usd. plus 15% of service and 11% of tax for xtra hour 5 hours. Extra hour 10 usd. ++ so if you go through them you do not have to pay for the site fee. However depending on the menu and type of bar you choose it could worth it if you rent the whole location. Here are a few pics from some of our events there: http://www.yazmindelamora.com/wedding-blog/paulina-y-juan-grand-coral-diciembre-10-2011/ http://www.yazmindelamora.com/wedding-blog/tessy-e-irving-grand-coral-beach-club-december-17th-20011/ http://www.yazmindelamora.com/wedding-blog/carolina-adriks-wedding-febrero-2012-grand-coral/ Happy planning!
  2. Hi Emfayed, First of all please note that a real Shaman is 100% authentic mayan and becomes Shaman by inheritance, so their grandparents and parents were Shamans and of course the ceremony should be in mayan. So far there are only two in the area and the ceremony is ancient and real, it is not a show if you want to add a glance, you can have dancers, your guests will loved them! There are also cosmic ceremonies and oradores who are performing beautiful and meaningful ceremonies but are not mayans or ancient. Please find below the answer to your questions in blue: 1. How does the ceremony unfold? I`ve read that it includes the four elements and that it lasts 40 minutes, but happens during these 40min. Ceremony lasts around 30-35 minutes. First the air is purified with the sound of conch shell and the copal (incense) then the Shaman will ask permission to the 4 cardinal points, then the 4 elements, then he will do the blessing for bride and grrom, the exchange of flowers (rings if you want also), the mayan vows and the balche (Champagne) at the end he finishes with a offer to the water (ocean or cenote). 2. Can we inlcude our own vows? exchange or rings during the mayan ceremony? Yes it can be possible. 3. Does the chaman (not sure how to spell it) speak English or do we need a translator? The Shamans I know do not speak english so a translator will help. 4. At the GSP is the ceremony done in the Gazebo or on the beach? Can be done everywhere near water with or without a Gazebo. 5. Anyone have pictures? Here are a few: http://www.yazmindelamora.com/wedding-blog/category/mayan-ceremony-ceremonia-maya/ 6. What would you prefer, a regular ceremony or the Mayan one? I like both but personally if I am in the area, I will always prefer the original and authentic one. Hope it helps! Happy planning!
  3. Hello, The only legal ceremony in Mexico will be the Civil Ceremony. If you are catholic but your FI is not, it can be a bit more complicated than if both were but nothing impossible. The catholic Church is very well organized all over the world so you should only put in contact your Parish and Priest from home with the Church or Priest from here (Playa or Cancun). You will have to accomplish certain documentation that your Priest in your country of origin will request and they will send it directly to the Church here in Playa, it is very simple. If someone gets a legal catholic ceremony in Mexico, it could be perhaps because they are bringing a foreign Priest from another country where catholic ceremonies are legal in their country but not here in Mexico, so do not get confused. Hope it helps and happy planning!
  4. Hello! I guess you should consider two points: 1. Deal a good rate for a wedding group 2. Find out how important is privacy for you and your FI on your wedding date. If so, maybe you should consider hotels with no more than 300-500 rooms or the ones that perform no more than one or two weddings per day. Good luck in your research!

  6. Hello! As Matt says, still not that easy to rent or arrange a TTD in cenotes. Besides, Cenote weddings are not good for a lot of people to attend... The location is so humid that we always suggest to hold an intimate ceremony for the closest family or friends (or just the couple) followed by a TTD. We were happy and proud to provide the Shaman for this ceremony in one of the first cenote ceremonies on the area organized by Del Sol in 2010 and just loved it! 04.07.10 Matt + Alissa | Cenote Wedding + TTD | Photos by Matt Adcock + Sol Tamargo Happy planning!
  7. Hello Sunshine, There are plenty of cenotes in the area BUT is not that easy as it seems... as Pierre says, you have to consider the sunset time and the location where the cenote is located since sunlight is very important for good photos. If you are bringing your own photographers and they are not familiar with the area, I would suggest to ask your photographers to do a couple of days prior your TTD session a site inspection in order get the best hour for shots and avoid people around so you can get beautiful photos! Good Luck!
  8. Hello everyone! Yes! ... There are several hotels with Catholic Chapels on site and also there are private locations with their Catholic Chapel as well along the Rivera Maya. The process to get married is not that difficult since the Catholic Church is very well organized all around the world and there are also english speaking Priests in the area. Happy planning!
  9. Hello Violet0711, Our suggestion will be first to determine your budget and based on that you can define what options will be better for you such boutique, european or all inclusive hotels, beach clubs or private villas or venues. If privacy is very important for you there are a few all inclusive or some beach clubs that can offer enough privacy for your event. Regarding weather March is very windy and the rain season starts in May BUT here in the caribbean you can never tell. Good luck in your research and happy planning!
