The "off wipes" come in a box of 12 I think and we got them at the dollar tree store.

I actually had a small wedding reception Jamaican style. I have an uncle who is from Jamaica but his son and brother both still live in Jamaica. They arranged a street party wedding reception for us as a surprise. My uncle rented a bus and brought us all to his friends house in boscobel the day after our wedding. They had a goat and a pig roasting, bread fruit, over proof rum and rice. They set up music outside, blocked the street off with tables and they gave us a traditional jamaican style reception. It was very interesting and very sad at the same time. Sad because of how some people have to live but they make the best of it. I fell in love with some of the children and I actually want to find a way to mail gifts to these kids. Everyone in the neigborhood just showed up. They didnt know who we were, but they welcomed us with open arms. And when they told me how the groom gives the bride the cake I didnt want to do that and I said Ewww they insisted and it wasnt as bad as I thought.

After you go through immigration and get your luggage its about 3 hours and thats with a stop at a rest area. We had a 1130am flight out of ft lauderdale and were at the Riu by 3.

Heidi, I dont really think that would be a big deal, Just email Michael tell him You do not want his Photographer but you are interested in someone taping the ceremony. But since your paying for the royal package see if you can get that 150.00 fee for him in the package refunded to you...lol maybe

You will not be breaking a contract with Michael because you didnt contract him to photograph your wedding. You are just having a family member take picures. The only time there is a fee involved is if you HIRE an outside photographer FROM Jamaica. For our wedding after we spoke with Chandlyn she told us to go to the photoshop to set things up. She has nothing to do with them as I found out, with my problem with the royal wedding package. If you have the "free" wedding you have to pay Michael 150.00 just to show up, If I didnt want him to take ANY pictures I wouldnt have paid them anything and would have gone to the shop before the wedding and told them there services were not needed. I am looking at the new contract from michael that I received last week It says for free and clasic wedding package photographer needs to be arranged prior to wedding, thats when I paid them the 150.00. Royal and Caprice it says photographer attends automatically. Thats because the 150.00 is included allready in the price of the wedding package. I am going to try and figure out if I can scan this, so I can post it.

Yayyyy we have a Dec. Bride..... But I guess that means we dont need to travel to the Riu to renew our vows, just to have a Dec fix....lol

We brought our own music also to have our 1st dance to. But we didnt rent the disco. I cancelled the reservation and we had our 1st dance on the beach during our cocktail hour. The steel drums stopped playing for just a few mins and Chandlyns assistant just put on the CD for us. The club plays typical US club music.

They work under Michael. I think he was out of the country the day of my wedding. I did see him when I picked up our pictures though.

Your right in Mammee bay you can have Ocean view or pool view BUT they lower the shades and you have no view in either....lol

I didnt do a booklet, I emailed out a lot of info the weekend before we left. Then in my welcome beach bags I put in a wedding day time line, in a wedding invitation format.

If you allready have the plantation rented out for 2 hours, I would just stay with that add the 2 hours and get a DJ there. This way you dont have to move the whole party to dance. There are bar stools surrounding the bar in the disco but no tables and chairs.

The photo packages have changed as I found out last week. No you dont need to book online now, but yes you need to stop by the photo shop prior to the wedding and look over the packages. For the "free" wedding you PAY 150.00 US for a photographer to come to your wedding Paid prior to the wedding, BUT you get 10 pictures included in that price. You can buy more, we only bought 2 at 8.00 each. For the royal package you DONT pay anything for the photographers fees BUT YOU GET NO PICTURES INCLUDED. You get 10 free WITH A Purchase of 24 pictures and 24 pictures cost 240.00. This is the only reason why we changed from a royal package to the free wedding.

Michael did not take any pictures at my wedding, we had another Riu photographer. There are a few. And yes you can bring any decorations you want, Just have someone in your family or a friend set it up for you.

Hi, The Royal package does not give you anything different then the basic free set-up. You would have to upgrade your flowers like Mo said to have anything different. We used the beach gazebo also, but I wanted the palm arch also, so chandlyn had that put up and the Tuille was on the gazebo allready. The bamboo white curtain type is nice also, but thats extra. I have a pic of that on my website if you want to take a look.

It was much easier then I thought it would be.... I topped off our vase with beach sand, then put about 3-4 layers of saran wrap around the top then put bubble wrap around it and put 3 rubberbands to hold it all on and it was FINE. The colors did bleed slightly into each other from laying on its side in my carryon but it looks cool, and its supposed to be blended, right? lol

I know the 3 weeks are going to fly by! I am getting very excited especially since you got back and had such a great time! Well, it's Saturday night and Tim is at his bachelor party in Atlantic City and I am home fighting with the printer. It keeps jamming and I am trying to print my damn place cards! I cant wait to hear how Evitas is. We saw the billboard sign for it when we were there and Chris said we should go there, and then I go into telling him how you are having your reception there and he was laughing at me for knowing about everyones wedding plans.....We tryed to get there but there just wasnt enough time in the day....

One more thing... I noticed there are no December brides... Do you think Chris and I could RENEW our vows yet?? We need a december bride....lol

October Oct 12 2007...... LOL I know it passed but I felt left out...I am alittle depressd that we are back. I miss waking up and sitting out on that balcony looking at the ocean and palm trees! Do I have to wait for the marriage certif. to come in the mail from Jamaica before I can apply for a name change or can I use the " brides copy" of the registry that the minister gave us?

I would email that question to Chandlyn. She most likely could get you the flowers but I dont know if they would be free. I didnt ask for flowers for the cake but I was happy that they were on it. I was planning on getting flowers for my hair but the weekend before we left I had a shower and my children got me a swavorski chrystal tiara so I wore that instead of flowers.

Its very nice, but yes it is buffet for soup and salad. Only your main entree is served. Here is a pic during the day where our tables were set up for our reception.
