    Wecome to the forum, Jordan!
  2. FI's Aunt and Uncle are professional photographers in Chicago. For our wedding present, they are flying to Mexico and taking all of our wedding pictures! We really lucked out on this!! Before their offer, I had looked into photogs in Mexico and was planning on spending about $4,500.
  3. Girls, Thank you for all of the re-assurance and kind words! You all have given me something to think about I am already feeling a little better about this!

I still have a hard time introducing myself by my new name, a lot of students knew me by my old name and so its been a hard transition. For me hyphenating wasn't really an option since my maiden name is longer and it would have been just too much for me. However if I wasn't a teacher I would have hyphenated because I think that women have the right to keep their name. If you really want to change your name though, it doesn't matter that they rhyme you will get used to it. Thanks for the kind words, Christine. FI and I have dated for a loong time, and I have known this was coming...Hopefully, it is something that I will get used to one day!

Welcome to the forum! Wow - just a few more months until the wedding! What things do you still need to get done?
  6. Congrats on your recent engagement, and welcome to the forum! Tell us a little more info, and we will be glad to start helping you find places. How many guests are you thinking? Do you have any locations in mind? Ect...
  7. Okay, so I have been avoiding this issue for a long time now because sometimes it is easier just not to think about it! Fiance's last name (almost) rhymes with my first name. Seriously. My name is Jackie and his last name sounds close to that. AHHHHH. The good news is that my real name is Jacquelyn, and I think Jacquelyn actually sounds really good with his last name. However, NO ONE calls me by real first name. My options are.. 1. Take his last name, and just get used to the "rhyming" sound 2. Keep my last name and add on his name after it. 3. Or just start introducing myself as Jacquelyn, and hope people will start calling me that instead I really don't know what to do. I love my FI, and I am really proud to take his last name, I just don't know if I can live the rest of my life being teased about it. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you girls!!!!!!

Maybe she will have a recording or something, too
  12. Oh, I need to add Music to my list of things to discuss with my WC! Thanks, Edna!
  13. Great Idea!! Here is what I've found so far...

    Hi

Welcome to the forum! There are tons of great Caribbean locations to choose from! What kind of wedding location are you interested in? Big? Small? Let us know what we can do to help

    New!!

Congrats on your engagement, and welcome to the forum! Any specific locations in mind??
  16. Oh, thank you for all of the good tips, Tara and Amanda. I just arranged to do a tasting, and to take a peek at all of our guest's rooms as well as the honeymoon suite. Yay!

  18. That is a tough one...both Dreams properties look beautiful. Have you checked Trip Advisor for reviews? They usually contain a lot of good info about activities/nightlife and things to do at the resorts.
  19. Chandelier earrings will be perfect with your dress. (BTW, your dress is beautiful! I love it!)
  20. Like I posted earlier, I am going on a last minute site visit to Playa Fiesta (we leave next Friday!)! I am very excited to see the resort, but have no clue what else I should do when I am there to help prepare for the wedding?? What do I bring? What questions do I ask? This will be the only time I am there before the wedding, and don't want to forget anything! For the girls that have visited their wedding location before, what did you do? TIA!! Jackie
  21. Happy (late!) birthday, Edna!! I hope that you had a great day. The ring has got to be coming soon...
