For some reason, I am thinking that you speak Spanish If so, maybe you will have better luck at finding some more info! Jackie
  3. Welcome to the forum! I have heard Cabo is beautiful place to get married!

    Hello!!!

    Welcome to the forum!
  5. After much debate, we ended up doing a small registry. We are not going to "advertise" it, and only tell people if they ask.
  6. I'm so sorry that is happening, Kelly! That is REALLY inconsiderate - it makes me angry just reading about it. I am crossing my fingers that everything works out for you!!
  7. We are paying $600 for a DJ who plays for the entire night. We are also having a Spanish Guitar and Cello Duo for the wedding and cocktail hour who charge $500.00/hour.

WOW - that's a great price. We spent more than that making our own!
  9. We did boarding STD's, and our guests loved them. I found nice ones at bliss ink, blueskiesanddaisies(go to custom invites, and click on jessica and richard), and prim and pixie. Due to high costs, we ended up making our own and then ordering the jacket and envelopes from a professional invitation studio. I have a template also - just PM me if you would like to see it!
  10. My WC told me to expect 60% of our guests to attend the wedding. We invited 70 couples and have had 22 rooms booked so far. In the end, I am guessing that about 50% will end up booking. Like Ann said, there were no big surprises on who did and did not come. We asked around before we did the room block, to get an estimated number of guests that would be coming. Good Luck!
  11. I bought my first set of OOT bags at Oriental Trading. They were colored canvas and were 19.95/dozen. BUT then I saw pics on the forum of plain canvas ones w/ iron-on logos and decided to do those instead. I found my 2nd set(the plain canvas bags) at Hobby Lobby. I think they were around 3.00 each? You can always search on Ebay, too!
  12. Hi Heather, We are getting married in PV, too. We are going to do a Canopy Tour - Canopy Tours de los Veranos, Exciting Eco Tours in Puerto Vallarta. Our guests are really excited about it! For younger ones (or the less adventurous ones) there are water slides, a resturaunt, a bar, and exotic animals there too. Hope this helps! Jackie
  13. This would have been sooo helpful when I was making our website! It took me forever to compress our song so that it was small enough! Thank you for sharing!
  14. Wow! You have done an amazing job with planning!!! Thanks for sharing!

Or, do you pay the deposit at the same time you sign a contract for the room block and then you're just locked in? You pay the deposit ($5,000) at the same time that you sign the contract, and you are locked in. Also, if you only fill 18 rooms, there is a chance that some other rooms will be occupied by time-share owners. PF's owner assured me that they are used to this situation, and allow privacy on the wedding night. I'm not sure if you can do a wedding there without either a partial or full takeover, though?? Hmm..I never asked that question. Either way, I think you will be surprised at how many people decide to join you!
  16. Thanks for sharing! I'm not a Dreams bride, but the resort looks amazing. And I loved all of the pink, too!
  17. Yep! That sounds really low but I just double-checked it, and its correct!
  18. Ours were $150.00 per child ages 4-14, but the cost depends on which package you pick. Overall, VERY reasonably priced!
  19. Welcome to the boards, Amy! RM is a beautiful location!
  20. For couples with children - Kids 4 and under are free. Children 4 -14 pay for a Breakfast and Bar package (1/2 price of adult b&b pkg). Kids count as adults, until the room has 2 people paying full price. For instance, if one adult and one child share a room, the cost is the same as 2 adults. If 2 adults and one child share a room, the cost is the same plus a child's breakfast and bar package. Does that make sense? It is kind of hard to explain?

You mentioned in your post about the guests paying about $1660 for their stay there. Can you explain how you this works? One thing I wondered was if we weren't able to get all the rooms filled, then what happens with the contract? Also, if we had to pay a percentage upfront for the buyout, when guests book, does the money we paid for their room then go toward our own expenses? Any info you could share would be wonderful!!! Maria Hi Maria, Just now saw this post..Hopefully, I answered all your questions in the "Playa Fiesta Avg. Costs" Post If not, let me know!

It's so nice to have somone farther along in their planning process for Playa Fiesta on here and so helpful about providing us with info!) First, Adam (the owner) assigns a block of 18 rooms. There is a mix of room types - Standard Rooms, Ocean View Suites, Two Bedroom Ocean View Suites, and Penthouses. The wedding couple gets a detailed room chart, and assigns their guests to their rooms. As you go up above 18, Adam proportionately adds the connecting units to your block.

Are you and your FI staying just 5 days there and then honeymooning elsewhere? Can people stay longer than the 5 days for the same rate it they want? We have some guests who want to stay a full week or more. Yeah, I can't believe how fast our rooms have filled up! I'm afraid we might overflow the hotel. Guests can stay extra nights, with the same nightly rate as your package. We are coming down a few days before(as suggested by our WC), and then doing a honeymoon to Greece six months later. Also, PF provides lots of low-cost options that provide WOW! factors(fireworks, bands, fire jugglers, etc) that we are excited about.
