  1. Holy crap ladies... I am going to sit down right now and make a list! I can't believe our weddings are so soon and I have so little done
  2. Funny story: My FMIL suggested that I ask for hand canceling when I went to drop off our STD a few months ago. We had gotten personalized stamps with our monogram and the envelopes were caligraphied, so when she said it would "it would make the envelope look nicer" I didn't argue. When I got to the post office, the line was really long so that woman who worked there handed me the stamper and told me to go crazy. So I am standing there with the stamper in my hand, not knowing how doing it by hand would make it "look nicer" when I suddenly decide that the purpose of of hand cancelling is to protect the stamp from getting covered by the cancelling (I know, I know). Anyway, so there I am, stamping 100 envelopes NEXT TO my beautiful stamps so as not to hide them! You should have seen the woman's face when I handed her the stack of invitations! She was like "um, miss, did you not know that you were suppose to 'stamp the stamp'? Now you either have to re-cancel everything or risk having them come back!" I felt like the biggest idiot...
  3. That's great! Everything looks beautiful - you must be so relieved to check one more thing off your list
  4. I've never been to DR, but I checked with FI (who has been there once) and he said NOT to go to Occidental. Apparently he went with his family a few years ago and someone "broke" into they room and the safe. The only thing was, the window was locked, the door was closed, and he personally set the safe before leaving for dinner!. Anyway, the hotel refused to acknowledge anything happened and wouldn't even call the police... they had to pay an employee cash to take them to the police station to file a report for everything they lost. Needless to say, they won't be returning to that hotel anytime soon!
  5. I was planning to use Snapfish, but I am not sure how to avoid the email confirmation problem. I am planning to order prints from them this weekend so I will see if it's possible to change the email address during the ordering process. As far as the card, I was planning to just "borrow" Angela's card
  6. I am not sure what the "proper" thing to do is, but I am sending the invites to everyone... I hope it doesn't come off like I just want a gift!
  7. We are planning to do before pictures, but I don't think I will be wearing my wedding ring. I really want the "before" pictures to look like they are "before", so I don't want to be wearing my wedding band in any of them. I guess I will just try to squeeze in some "after" shot post-ceremony... does that help at all? I feel like I am rambling...
  8. I figured if I was going to spend my saturday night making playlists for my wedding, someone else should be too
  9. Oh, so beautiful! She is so very beautiful, and you captured them perfectly! Amazing work (as if I was surprised)
  10. goergous dress... that detailing under the chest and on the train is exquisite! You are going to be one beautiful bride!
  11. What a great idea! When I first read the title of the thread, I was like "east coast of what?" I guess being from the east coast makes you immune to its DW possibilities. I am going to think of some locations that I have been to in in NY and MA
  12. Yay!!!!! I am so happy for you Heidi! You totally deserve it - make sure you flip off your old boss on behalf of BDW on your last day

I know some people like it themselves too, and I love a pretty table but I also love Le Creuset and I've been eyeing this french oven that makes my heart smile...lol It's $260 but if I returned the china it would be free. That's a lot for one pot but I would use it often and love to cook. I can eat off of almost anything but I can't cook in just anything. That's my fetish. Oh, and Galit how cool that we picked the same pattern...it really is beautiful. Maybe I'll keep the 2 sets for romantic dinners between DH and I? OK I'm driving myself crazy now It's rediculous to drive yourself crazy over a bunch of plates! It sounds to me like you already know what you want to do, so just return the china and get the french oven of your dreams

  16. Welcome to the forum!!! I am getting married in mexico on memorial day weekend next year... I am pretty sure on the east coast may is "off-season". I can tell you that right now flights from NY to cancun (with one stop) are around $320.00, but I dont know how long that will last. Also, if you are looking for affordable options I remember DR being pretty inexpensive. Good luck and happy planning!
