I am not completely sure why I am letting it bother me...but really this isn't the first time I have "looked" again at changing locations because of the price. I don't think it's outrageous in price if it fits into your budget...but that's the thing...we had a small budget and we have already doubled it!! So I'm just trying to cut back where I can. I wouldn't just give up privacy though because that too was important to me, but when I saw the cabo surf it also seemed very private so that is why I was leaning toward there now.... Sorry for rambling!

On a side note...when I couldn't be in my friends wedding, it broke my heart to tell her that I couldn't come to Hawaii and I tried to look through all my finances to try and find a way to make it work and I knew that it would take alot for me to save and even then didn't know if I could break the bank just to go. So I made sure I told her early on that I couldn't do it because I owed that her to make other arrangements and not string her along! Just my opinion.

We chose Dreams to stay at because we wanted an AI. I am pretty sure that the RUI AI you have to make reservations for meals and Dreams you don't so that is why we picked that over RUI. However, I decided against Dreams for my wedding although it would have been cheaper...I didn't like the Gazebo location or the beach and they couldn't provide me with a location on a grassy area overlooking the beach that was private enough. So I choose the Fiesta Americana to have the wedding at. We would rent their Imperial Suite for the night and it is 5200 sq feet w/ a private pool and grass and beach and you have the ceremony and reception all right there! It is very pricy though. The suite would cost us in May 2008 $2100 for just one night and that doesn't include anything else for the wedding! However, after reading on this forum, I am now looking into the Cabo Surf because it also looks very nice, has had great reviews and can provide me with the grassy area overlooking the beach and the reception in a covered palapa (hut) as I had originally wanted!! So, hopefully the date is open (I am awaiting an email back) and we will change venues!! Plus the Cabo Surf seems alot more flexible and accommodating than the FA. So cross your fingers for me that the date is available!!! Good luck planning!!!! If you have questions, just ask! Michelle~

OMG Kelly! I am so sorry you are being put through this. Stuff like that really upsets me! One of my biggest pet peeve's is stupid and inconsiderate people! I can not for the life of me understand how family can treat other members of their family like shit!! And the fact that you changed locations because of them! Wow!! That is the ultimate!! I hope your FI can talk some sense in to them! Just remember that you, your fiance and your son and what matters most and you will still have the most beautiful day!!! Keep your chin up as best you can!! Things will fall into place!

Oh...my fi and i both bought some bottle opener ones about a month ago!! They are awesome! The bottle opener works great and they are super comfortable, but I agree, it took a couple days to break them in. I didn't know they had ones you could stash stuff in...that's cool! We got ours at the sports authority here in california. I don't know if those are everywhere..but basicly any sporting store or outdoors store or online....I think we paid like $40 each.

Question for all of you cabo surf brides...isthis place an all inclusive? Where exactly is it located? In the corridor? Is the food for the wedding reasonable like more or less than $50 a plate? Sorry for the questions....just reading your threads...It sounds kinda nice and I am just keeping my options open!

Love the invites courtney....it's good to know you are sending them early...I was kinda thinking of doing this...I have the weding website...but I think that I should send invites early too because most people are going to know this early I would think if they can go or not...I mean they have to plan and save for their trip and start booking. So why wait... good idea!

Hey everyone! I was just curious... My sister is in charge of doing my centerpieces and helping w/ oot bags, etc... she is a designer and so she has all the creative ideas and does good w/ budgets...anyway, I was wondering if we end up having alot of stuff to take with us (which I am going to try and keep it all at a minimum the best I can) have any of you shipped some of your items to your wedding coordinator ahead of time like a week or two?? Just to try and save the hassle of packing it in luggage, etc....

I received a quote from deena...I have only talked to her via email. She seems great and she is working w/ maye! I am going to go the cupcake route so I think maybe that's why it's a little bit more? That and I am getting married in 2008 so rates probably change? Anyway. I am going with a top tier 6" that serves 12 and then 3 tiers below full of cupcakes about 40 total with buttercream frosting and sugar daisies on top of each cupcake. She quoted $92 for the top cake and $4.25 I think per each cupcake...plus $15 delivery and $30 stand rental... I just love the cupcakes....

Just a quick question...I hadn't thought of this idea until I saw this thread...how much are these parasols? I think they look great but where do you find them and how much approx...if it's less than flowers...I may go that route too...I am not a huge flower person!!! BTW: I definately think that your's should be slightly different the the BM's...depending on your colors?? I like the size difference idea....your's larger and theirs smaller!!
