  1. Yes Jill I will look at your pics because as a visual person...I can't picture what you are saying. sounds nice though. I thought about the floating candles...that's about all I had!
  2. So we are getting married at the FA Imperial Suite and there is a private pool right above the reception area. I don't know what to put in the pool or around the pool to decorate it? I don't think I like the paper bag luminaries. I don't hate them...i just want to see if there are other ideas?
  3. I have ordered and I think it only took 4 weeks at the most! I would venture to say that it might depend on the dress and how popular it is and how fancy it is, etc...

I spent an hour on this site last night...I love it!! Not necessariy for the whole table idea but little ideas within each table. Okay but I didn't know could build your own essentially. I am going to have to revisit this site and play a little!
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day!
  6. Met Fiance for lunch instead...I am going to call to make appointments for the weekend when I can bring a few in that I want to look at.
  7. I wonder if you have to make appointments during the weekday? Maybe I will stop by today. I leave work at 12:30 today and my class was cancelled so I don't have class until 6pm!! I imagine most of the bridal salon's have that...

Ok, you like both the strapless and halter, that's good. Both are very flattering and you can avoid low cut necklines with them. This is all good info. Now you need to make an appointment at a salon and tell the sales person this. They know their inventory so they'll be able to find stuff for you that will fit this criteria. I think I visited 5 different salons before I found my dress. You need to get out there and try on a bunch of dresses so you can now narrow down the color, beading, neckline, etc. Trust me, as you try on dresses that are closer to what you're looking for, you'll be so much more into this. I wish I lived closer, I would totally go with you. Thanks Jen!! You put it all into perspective. 10. This one I did like alright...my friend liked the flowers at the bottom and now that I see it on the model I like them but it looked weird on me! the one I tried was really big for me so she had to tie it and it just isn't the same... Not bad...and this picture you can't see the bottom well, but I didn't like the beading too much but the style was okay. My friend really liked this on the rack. I love halter and am definately not against it...but this one looks like it would be form fitting. I couldn't really tell because the one there was a size 4 and yeah I am so not there yet!!! So couldn't get a good idea I will try and post some more that I was looking at online.
  11. Well about a month ago, I tore out a few I liked from the bridal magazines but this visit was impromtu so I didn't have them with me or anything. I am going to go through them and maybe make an appointment at a salon for this weekend while it's still somewhat fresh in my mind and I have a little bit of extra time. I am going by myself though this time i think.... The thing is that I like to try stuff on without a sales person breathing down my neck...I feel to rushed to decide if I like it or not and if I stare at myself too long in it I feel like I'm being weird and taking too long. I didn't know that nordstrom had bridal gowns in their stores. i thought only online? I wonder if all the stores have them? I will try and find some online and show you guys. Definately something simple Jen. Nothing too traditional and nothing too low cut and nothing too form fitting (big hips).

  13. wow...I didn't realize they had so many activities.. I too was wondering what there was to do at night. Is the Azucar at a hotel next door? Which one?
  14. Just curious to see if anyone is doing their pictures before the ceremony so that you can spend the cocktail hour with your guests?
  15. Just curious to know if any of you are letting fiance see your dress prior to the ceremony??
  16. Morgan, thanks for the link to the other thread. I didn't even think to look first before I posted...I just wanted some quick feedback! I can definately see that I am not alone in this (thanks everyone!!) I think I am going to look online a little bit and in the magazines and then next time just go by myself and see what i think. I figure I will find one eventually. I am just so hard on myself and I'm so afraid too that fiance won't like it....
  17. very pretty!!! It must be a relief to know you don't have to worry about that now!!!
  18. Hi ladies! okay so for some reason I have been putting off going to look for dresses. Partly because I am just so busy w/ work and school and family issues that I don't have free time. The other part if because I just am not motivated. The thought of going does not interest me in the least? So this weekend I was up visiting my mom and friends and I decided to stop in this boutique up there. First of all, they had some pretty ugly dresses and i can't make decisions to save my life. So I found only 4 that I was willing to even try on and the whole time I just felt wierd like it just wasn't natural to me. Plus I felt fat and uncomfortable and just not feeling the whole thing. Is this totally abnormal? Has anyone else gone through this? I never have been one to think about my wedding day or care about my dress and I knew that my dress wasn't a big deal to me, but I just really hate the idea of having to go, try them on, look through those crammed racks and try and tell myself that I like a certain dress when really i just feel like a fat blob! HELP!!!!
  19. yeah I just read up on it and I don't think it would fly with my group and I personally wouldn't want to ask people to pay to come to some party I was throwing...especially since there is alot of cost incurred in going to a destination wedding. From what I just read, the guest could be alot of the people that maybe aren't coming or aren't invited to the actual wedding. Well I would really not want to ask them to help fund my wedding that I wasn't even inviting them too. That's just me though and my friends and family. Everyone is different and it does seem to be most common in Canada, so if you think your crowd would go for it...then why not make some money!
  20. I love this idea too!!!! I am definately going to use this somehow. I am worried about transporting it back home though. The sand. maybe we can pour it in at the ceremony, move the frame with a pic in it over to the guestbook table for reception and then take the sand out and put it in a safe container for the trip home and then recreate it again back at home?? What do you gals think?
  21. Awesome job Julie!!! You are beyond creative! I agree...how did you get your logo on those lip balms and stuff? clear lables or something?
  22. Any one know how many points homemade stew is?
  23. I am not sure how I missed this thread....but if I'm the Michelle in the original post for 5/24/08 then three things: 1. thanks for including me! 2. I am not actually getting married at dreams. i am getting married at Fiesta Americana however, I am staying at dreams so I will be there for all the end of May weddings!!!! 3. My date changed to 5/26/08. When is everyone arriving in Cabo and how long are you staying? We should all meet up while we are there if our schedules are too hectic!! I am coming in 5/22/08 - 5/30/08 I will have to repost w/ my progress. Wedding plans have been pushed to the back burner for 8 more weeks until school is out!
