  1. From what I have read they say to take the card out of your camera. I always carry mine with me because I have seen how those big dude throw bags like basketballs. EEHHK! Not my camera, no sir. Old film will have poored quality. Like baked goods they start to go bad...now I want a cinnamon roll. if you want to order less expensive ones do a dry ( or wet) run to see how the quality is before you go.
  2. I will end up doing 3 shopping days just so everyone gets a chance to share in the experience. Will that work for you? Go by yourself then another time with her?
  3. WELCOME! Hope we can be of some help.
  4. Ok well after Ms. High-and-mighty gave her answer she went and looked into it. Here is what I found: X-ray's don't harm cameras. They harm film. So if your camera is loaded with film - and it should be - your concern should be for the film in it, not for the camera itself. Will airport X-rays harm your film? Yes, they can...but you usually don't have to worry, according to NYI. Here's why. The X-ray machines in all American airports and most overseas international airports will not harm your film, provided your film is X-rayed just once or twice. So if you're flying to Disneyland or Hawaii or London and back, your film should not be harmed by the airport X-ray machines. A problem arises, however, if your film is X-rayed more than a couple of times. X-rays are cumulative. The second dose adds to the first. The third to the second. And so on. Eventually, your film will be harmed by the accumulation of X-rays. So if you're going on a multi-leg trip, beware. Insist that your camera and film be hand-inspected on each leg of your journey. Security personnel are required to heed your request in the U.S., and the inconvenience is minor.
  5. A HA! I have an answer! You do not need to worry. Only very high speed film ( read: expensive and professional) will cause you a problem. I used to work in a photo lab and I never saw a problem from x-rays. Don't worry at all.
  6. I like the idea of the polaroid- I am just trying to keep thing cheap and that film is crazy expensive. We both have cameras and will stalk people until we get good photos. I went and bough a cute basket that I am going to throw the book in along with our engagement photo book and some pens and markers. I made up a note for the side of the basket asking people to sign the book and letting them know we are going to be taking their photo. I wrote that if they didn't cooperate we had ways of taking unflattering photos--that should do the trick.

Ahh yes, I would do it if I had tons of free time. It took me about 4 hours to do just those few pages. Cutting those circles out was killer!

I have done them off and on for about 8 years. I was doing it before all the fancy papers came out so I am happy that I can make things faster than before.
  10. Welcome! Now I wonder how often we have seen the nipple ring of a newbie BEFORE they joined...hmmmm.
  11. I really am not a huge fan of a book with peoples names written in it. I would much rather have someone draw a funny picture or share a great memory at our wedding/party. We are having our pre-wedding party next Saturday so that is why I have this done so early. SOOO I made up a book so people can do this. Our good friend beachbride shared a poem that came just in time for me to use. THANKS! I did add something to the end because a few of my friends are not in relationships and they might be discourage from sharing tips. Here is the poem she shared with my extra lines. a very treasured gift A piece of hidden knowledge we didn't know exists. So share with us your wisdom about marriage, love and life How to be a loving husband or to be the perfect wife. Please write your thoughts and wishes to share with us for life For the greatest gift of all is the gift of your advice. If giving of advice doesn't appeal to you, we have something else to ask you to do. Share your favorite story of our times together Placing them in this book will help us to cherish our memories forever. Now on to your favorite part--PICTURES! I will warn you they are big so you can see the detail The cover. I bought a sketch book and put the ribbon and flower on. Cover page. The poem and some pictures of us as kids to spark some memories. This is all I am doing to these pages. I will have the guests write out their message to us and then put their picture where ever they have not written. Wow-that took me forever to do!
  12. I have seen it go both ways. One where the MOB basically wears a modified Bridesmaids dress and one where she wears something totally different. My mom has been given total freedom with the exception of wearing white. If your mother is the type to try and show-off I would go shopping with her so you can keep her dress style under control. Leopard print never works at weddings.
  13. I love how the sugar looks like sand on the cake!
