  1. Ok so I knew for a long time I was addicted to BDW. However, I never knew how badly. Just today I figured out how to view "Top Posters." I've witnessed some threads talking about the stats, but I had no idea where they existed. I found out today though and I am at the top in nearly all categories! YIKES! I seriously need to work more and I'm afraid I'm going to get fired! because I'm a
  2. Crap- that sucks Heather. I'm sure all will work out though! Is 5pm the latest? If so, I'm sure you could still swing things. Although I was married in PV, our ceremony didn't start until 6:15. We had plenty of time to take pics. Also, if you don't think you will have enough time, schedule a TTD session so you get lots of nice daylight pics.
  3. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1200 Heather- tons of brides have gotten married before or after to save money- me included. There are a lot of threads on it, but here's one to get you started. I'm so thankful we got married before- I hate the idea of having to do a "class" (I'm not sure if this is just a Jalisco requirement), blood tests and several hundreds of dollars more. It was just WAY easier to do it before we left and have the "real" ceremony there.
  4. LOL I wish I could walk everywhere, ride a bike or take public transportation. Doesn't work like that when you live in the sticks! GRRR!

But oh well- I hope they at least make eachother happy.
  6. Welcome to the forum. I was just married at Las Caletas in March. The link to my review and pro pics are in my siggy. Also, have you checked out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1775

  8. Well I just want to know what kind of crack the flight attendants and pilot were smoking if this did happen. Who in their right mind would think this would be ok. Craziness.
  9. Wonderful review. I'm sure it will help many brides! Your coordinator sounded like a gem. I'm so happy your wedding went well and you are able to recommend your resort to others! Congrats!

WHAT!! You got off for that? Ok, so maybe my cops are meaner but I've gotten a ticket for 7mph over the speed limit. Another I did slow down fast enough when the speed dropped from 45 to 30. It took me a full block- whatever! Another I got a ticket for a "school zone" which was complete CRAP! The school lets out at 2:30- I later called and the cross guard and the blinking "school zone" lights were all gone. I got a ticket at 4:30 and the sign says "when children are present." no children were present. I argued over that one for a long time but I lost and didn't want to take a day off work to go to court. I should have though!
  11. Oh geez- when I first read the headline I thought maybe he was having pooping issues- LOL. I would be so pissed if that happened to me too! Ride across country in an airplane bathroom? That just sounds absurd and completely unlikely.
  12. Steve's dad was a cop so he always got out of tickets. Plus he's the II so they have the exact same name. It's not hard to figure out he's the son.

It just a symbolic ceremony (although to those of us that went this route, it was still the real deal.) As for a Friday the 13th wedding, I'm not a superstitious person. It wouldn't bother me to get married on that day. It would actually be kind of cool.

I'd rather get a ticket for speeding. I've also had like 6 speeding tickets- I never learn my lesson and I def need a better excuse apparently. I've tried to say "I was running out of gas." Nope- speeding makes you lose gas faster so the cops don't buy that. I've tried the "I was just in auto pilot and didn't realize my speed." Nope, they don't like that one because that means your just driving unsafe, period. I've tried the tears and blaming the cop that he was ruining my life. He felt really bad but I still got a ticket. I'm going to reread the excuses and pick a better one!

  16. You got those at target? I was just there and didn't see ones like that- at least not in brown. Now I will need to search their website! I love them and need some type of invite for our AHR. Those are too cute Erica!

I have several one of Steve and I on a night with one too many drinks- LOL. I guess even the rich and famous get wasted during their reception.
  18. I am SO pissed I didn't record this last night. I forgot to record all my fav Monday shows and I missed them all. At least abc.com has it right? I can't believe he picked Shayne. Actually I didn't really care who he picked- I wasn't vested in either girl. This season didn't really hit the spot with me much. I can't wait for the Bachelorette though. She deserves a good man after the fiasco she went through.
  19. I personally like Rebecca's advice. She's your friend so I think it's only fair to give her the benefit of the doubt that something deeper is going on. As brides we are estatic for our weddings and we should be. However, other people sometimes have deeper issues going on in their life and with stress, it's sometimes hard to focus on being happy for your friend's eternal bliss. I would definitely reach out to her as a friend. If she's a good friend, then she deserves a friend back.
  20. I personally love Izzy and I hate to see her story lines shortened. It seems as if Grey's is just drifting from that core group and not concentrating on their quirky friendships anymore- you know, like having talks in the coma guys room. LOL I still love the show though and I really wish Addison could come back!
  21. I LOVED our cruise. We did a 7 day one to Mx and hit PV, Cabo and Mazatlan. The food rocked- I think I gained 20lbs. We went on Royal Caribbean and back in my college days, it was awesome because we purchased bottles of alcohol (2 bottles of Absolute basically for the price of one) and paid a fee to take it to our room- I can't remember what the fee was and just made mixed drinks to save money. It totally rocked. As for the frat guys and hoochie mamas, I went during spring break. My friend and I were the only hoochie mamas (LOL) and we couldn't find any frat guys. It was basically families. Def not a single and ready to mingle crowd. We made friends with our dining partners- who had an awesome vacation home in Cali. They loved us so much by the end of the trip, they offered up their vacation home for us to stay in. We scored big time!
  22. What! Again! You are a lucky girl. You can do the stairs- I did it, so you can do it! I looked up the botanical gardens when we had the vendor join. It looks beautiful! Have a great time.
  23. No problem. I just wanted to bring it up in case other brides were like me and had never been to the marina before. Most of my guests had never even been to PV so to say the least, they were somewhat confused. I think when they got there no one was working at the booths so they weren't sure where to go. I definitely know that no one was even working the port taxes booth, so they didn't even have to pay that. I had given my dad money to pay for everyone, but they didn't have to I guess. I know that's not a normal thing because Nicole had talked to me about the $1.50 per person fee.
  24. I don't remember if I ever brought this up here, but maybe some of the previous LC brides can help with this. My guests reported that it was extremely confusing the day of the wedding when they arrived at the marina. I didn't have transportation arranged for them because Nicole said for my small group it would be cheapest and easiest for them to just take taxis there. Anyways, we ended up having a couple miss the boat because they were confused where to go. They stayed at a separate hotel so they weren't with the larger group. My dad said they arrived at the marina they didn't know where to go. The taxi just dropped them off on the street so they didn't know how to get into the marina and the port tax place was closed. They weren't sure where to go and they were just kinda standing there. He said they would have been lost but thankfully Brad, the minister, walked up to them and asked if they were the wedding group. He showed them the way to the boat. I later talked to the couple that missed the boat and they clearly were way off base. I'm not sure how it happened but they saw the boat go by and realized that they missed the boat. Just wanted to put that out there, because I didn't provide my guests with any information other than show up to the marina. I didn't know what else to tell them (or even that more information was needed).
