It just depends on YOUR guests. My friends and family couldn't afford an extravagant resort (we wouldn't be able to either!) so we decided to find a nice resort that fit the price range most people were comfortable paying. Most paid $1500-1600 for airfare plus AI for 7 days. I think that was quite reasonable and our resort was GORGEOUS. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the vacation so much we are now planning a group vacation for the following year. Ultimately, you need to decide if you want more people to come or if you are content having the best resort but fewer people. You could easily run prices and costs by those that you absolutely want at your wedding. If they aren't biting, then you probably should look at different alternatives (that is, if you are willing to compromise for them to be there.)

Very pretty! I love the photoshoots Sarah does with them too! They look gorgeous and I know your guests will be in total awe.

Details of the dresses are hard to see from those pics, but I think your figure looks great in dress #1. It totally flatters your curves. I think #2 is my second favorite. I love it with the lace veil.

Honestly, we didn't do HOURS worth of photos after the ceremony. I think it was only about an hour. We are on a more strict schedule at Las Caletas, but I was more than happy with the amount of photos we received from that time period. I guess that aspect comes down to personal preference. If I told my DH that we would be doing photos for 2 hours after the ceremony, I think I would have been alone in most of the shots. No way I could get him to be that patient. I don't think I could have been that patient either, considering we took pics for about an hour before the ceremony as well. We photographed separately prior to the ceremony so our only shots together were after.

Cute. I really like his shirt. My hubby wanted something cool too. It took us MONTHS & MONTHS to pick out his ring. Luckily, the shirt was easier.

They were Guess. I'll google to see if they are still available. I bought them last summer.

My BIL has his ex wife's name AND current wife's name tattooed on him. You would have thought he would have learned the FIRST time.

The groom wore the same shirt as the BM but in a different color- the BM's shirt was more of a mauvy pink. My dad wore a similar shirt in brown- similar I mean by it having embroidery down the front. This is confusing. LOL I have a link in my wedding pics to better explain.

It's finally here! WOOHOOO!! Have a great time Carly- it goes so fast. Next thing you know you will nearly be married for 2 months wondering how the hell time flew so fast. I wish I could go back and do it all over again. I can't wait to see pics!

I do feel for you girls that have wedding dates so far out that airfare isn't even available to price out. I remember when we started planning a year in advance, I was so antsy to get prices to determine the affordability. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you all!

Cool. Decks can be built in a weekend- I've seen my dad do it. Of course, I was used as errand girl- you know, run to the store and get me a beer, etc.

Have you checked out occansey.com for their veils? They custom make them. I bought two (!) and sold one. I'm only 5' too and my veil was 65" I believe. I loved it and I'm so glad I decided to get one. It was only $40 and if you decide you don't want one, the price is so great, it's easy to resell. Of course, I wore a flower too!
