I had the chuppah, but then I brought a capiz shell curtain as extra. I also brought down decor for the tables.
  2. Whoa- I sense a last minute panic brooding. Menu- totally necessary? NO. Does it possibly add some color? Yes. I like knowing what I'm going to be eating so I would appreciate one. HOWEVER, don't do it if you are short on time. It's not worth any stress. Don't laminate though. I think that would look cheap and not photograph well. Laminiate is only good if the menu is going to be used over and over. IF someone spills on it, who cares? It was only needed for a first glance and to possibly spruce up the table. I did the menu is spanish and english because that's the way the resort gave it to me and I liked having both languages although all of my guests only spoke english. It was just a fun thing to have both. Timeline- I would do one. If details change, everything will work out. I would just put wedding start time as 4 or if you are having some pre-cocktails before 3:30 or whatever. People should have enough common sense to know if it's at 4 they better show up early enough anyways. Plus everyone will be at the resort already.... bonus of having a DW! Don't stress. You are in the final stretch so what get's done get's done. Forget the rest. Have a great time!
  3. I bought mine two years ago at World Market. Not sure if they carry it anymore though.
  4. You could also do things like "hung up on details? Go online to our website.... to find out more!"
  5. Oh and cougs- I like the two right swimsuits. However, that model is not "plus size." She looks perfectly normal and ideal to me. The one on the left I think might not be as flattering. Maybe cause it's not open in the boobies.
  6. So this is sad but I've actually thought that bigger boobs would help camouflage some of my flub. I knew a chick that had a breast reduction and let's just say her boobs were actually helping her out. However, she was able to not be in pain and exercise more freely without them so she ended up looking better eventually. It was just kinda shocking at first because you would think it would make her look like she lost weight, but it did the opposite. So long story short- yes, let's pack some of your boobs into mine.
  7. Oh that sucks-- I guess I don't have big enough boobs so that's not my primary concern. I love the maternity top you linked cause I think it's the type that cinches up the sides. Totally flattering.
  8. OK I gotcha. I think it's cute and you can kinda play more into the word play on the back. I do agree with Erika that it's very similar to an ad so I'd make sure your website and name stick out more- could be the jpg quality.
  9. OMG you girls make me feel so much better. My fav takini is from target's maternity line. I had to rip out the tag so no one saw it and got the wrong idea. Holllla! I'm not alone. Also, I had to share that my new way to protect chub rub- I bought some men's boxer briefs. Don't laugh. They work and don't give muffin top like some of those spanx underwear!
  10. Just to be clear- is this the first way your family and friends will find about the details of your wedding, or has something else gone out? I'm kinda confused. LIke what is it for? I think the pic is cute and I'm all about word play, but maybe something else that explains the intent more? LIke are you saying "go online to check out your wedding details?"

  12. Canadians don't live in igloos?! Where the hell have I been? You all still get around via sled dogs though right? So glad everything went well Carly. I know you debated forever and I'm absolutely thrilled you are so happy! I'm pretty amazed what modern technology can do! Sooo woooohoooo to being able to see!
  13. Stage name? That's crazy weird. I'd assume he would have already made a name for himself with Nate Cordova so I guess I don't get the rebranding. Eh- whatever. He's a cool guy. Elizabeth Lloyd kinda started like that because she was also Beth Fladung. Mostly because Fladung was her maiden name I believe but she didn't have "Elizabeth Lloyd" established as her career name and often times people on here would be like "soooo should I book Beth Fladung or Elizabeth Lloyd?" It was kinda funny though. She was just starting up the wedding side of her biz at that time and getting a website so those kinks got worked out soon.
  14. Nessa- Oh and there is plenty of shade so sun isn't an issue! BTW- the food is gooooood so it's a treat to get two meals at LC, not to mention they give you fruit and muffins on the ride over! Kat- Nate Broshot= Nate Cordova right? I'm confused because it's the same blog name but different name.
  15. It's only $50 pp now? Ok that's a steal! Totally go over early. I debated taking everyone for awhile because it was a huge expense, but trust me- WELLLL worth it. #1 peace of mind- at least to me- that everyone was there. #2- I loved spending that private relaxing time with the people closest to me. #3- time is short if you don't go over early, it would be tight getting ready- and by early, you go over with the day excursion so it's like 8am. Tons to do during that time. Personally, I was sick so I layed on the beach, then in a hammock and in the casita- LOL lots of laying around for me! Then I had a wonderful lunch and got ready almost immediately after. We had 8 people so I didn't want to skimp on time and end up shorting myself. It worked out perfect.
  16. Yes very true Andi. No shower, not that they would have time for that if they came over later. Ours ran late too. I was worried about my fellas missing the boat so I was glad they came with us. However, I think they had too many tequila shots in their man room and ended up having WAYYY to much fun taking pics. I should post all their stupid ones because they seriously tried to act like a "couple" and then rolled around in a wheelchair. So in this case- damned if I do, damned if I don't. LOL Either way they were up to no good!
  17. Mine went with me early! So he showered and got ready too. They gave the guys the room above where we eat dinner as the "man room."
  18. I think I could have planned my wedding easily under 6 months- only dress and photographer bookings would have been tight but everything else- easy peasy. HOWEVER! Guests need more time than 6 months to save up money. If that's not an issue to you and don't care who comes, then go for it. But it does seem like you do care... I know you are concerned about losing some guests anyways by waiting because of babies and other obligations, but you never know what's going to happen. People can be TTCing and not always get preggo as desired. My suggestion- put a list of MUST ATTENDS together. Talk to those people about how you want them to be present at the wedding and see what they say. Then I'd plan a wedding for what's convenient for those people and I'd forget the rest because no matter what, many won't attend. I can't help you about the home vs away though. That's for you guys to decide. We knew 100% no home wedding for us so the date was our only challenge and we planned that around our immediate family.
  19. I didn't mind that the show wasn't true to the books, but now I kinda love that it's following the same storyline- because I loved the story! We still get some twists and turns from characters that weren't in the series- or are completley different- like Tara and Lafeyette. I'm loving this season! Very good! Good bye Bill! MUHAHAHAHA (well I hope that's the good bye Bill.)
  20. We had 8 in the casita. It was tight but we managed. The only issue really was the showers- one shower for 8 people. Well techinically I think there were two shower heads and towards the end, two girls "showered" together in their bathing suits. As for counter space for makeup and hair, I thought there was plenty of room for that.
  21. Or what if you were to take a centerpiece like the one below and place the peacock feathers inside- flat against the glass so it peaks around the whole limes. I'm probably not explaining it well...but I see it in my head!
  22. I think if you took a ribbon and tied it around the top it might bring it together more. Kinda like this, but a ribbon more suitable to your theme: This placement of the ribbon is more what I was thinking:
  23. Mrs. Williams- Jamy and I got married at a beautiful private beach local so it didn't require a lot of extra decor. At least in our opinion! LOL You can find all Morgan's threads by going to Search and selecting "advanced search." You can search threads by member, so put in "Morgan." and select "threads started." Here's her planning thread- http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...g-stuff-21764/
  24. Oh I did too. I barely added anything extra. No centerpieces, no extra flowers- just ocean, sand and candlelight. LOL We only had 22 guests, but I guess it just depends what we are each counting in that "budget" number because I know some of the girls included rings in theirs and I didn't. I just found my contract- we spent $7k at LC... but the other half was photography, wedding wear, other small details and honeymoon. Considering about $4k was for our honeymoon and travel I guess I spent only $3k on everything else. I did pretty well too!
  25. Jamy- I'm amazed that your wedding was well under $10k! Are you counting your honeymoon in there? Just curious- because I know our weddings should have been comparable and ours was around $14k and I didn't think I splurged too much- well other than LC. About $4k of ours was the two week stay and airfare. Mrs. Williams- 100 guests seem like a lot to keep a lower budget. Maybe you can reduce some guests to save- or not if that's not negotiable for you guys. We have a budget thread on here. Check that out and it might give you a better idea of what everyone spent. Morgan did a lot of DYI and had a great wedding for a really affordable price. Maybe check out her planning thread to see some ideas that might help you get all the details that you want in the wedding, but at a price that your FI approves of.
