  1. The worst story that I cringe every time I hear it unfortunately happened with my parents. It was not my drunkest moment, but it was a contender for the title. No one wants stuff like this to happen with your parents though. It was my aunt's bday and she and I took a road trip to stay with my parents. We all went to a local sports bar that has a trivia night that my parent's friends run. One of my parent's friends was not that much older than me and he was completely annoying. I think he was interested in me, but didn't know how to act more mature than a 3rd grader. I got insanely pissed so my aunt and I ditched them all and went to a different bar down the street. This is where I went a little off the deep end. Too many drinks to count resulted in too many stumbles back to the sports bar. When we got back, it's all a blur so parts I remember and parts I'm reminded of every year or so from my parents or aunt. I was so wasted I was taking drinks out of stranger's hands and chugging them before they could take it back. I called a guy my parent's hung out with a "man whore" for no reason. I didn't really even know him. I went off on some girl for wearing a bananna clip. I climbed on top of a table and tried to dance before my dad dragged me down and pulled me out of the bar. As we were walking outside the bar, I ran up to the window and banged my fists on it shouting "Kyylllllllle." This is one move my aunt likes to mimic every once and awhile. My dad grabbed me by the elbow and dragged me to his truck and had to push me in since I couldn't get in by myself. I ended up puking all over my mom's white carpet and when she discovered it the next morning I tried to blame it on the cat. LOL Unfortunately, it was blue just like the AMF's I had been drinking prior to me going wild. I guess that's why they are called Adios Mother F**kers.
  2. I think it's totally different than asking someone to chip in for the caterer. If I were to get a registry card for photography, I would assume that my gift would be a nice print for their wall. That I would help contribute to paying for nice things like photobooks, prints, etc. Not the services per say.
  3. Ya that seems a little ridiculous. She wants you to do all the dirty work and then she do the part of just booking it? That's a nice way to make money with little to no work. I think it's a good idea to switch!
  4. I use all kinds of OTC teeth whiteners. I have used the crest white strips before and had positive results but I usually use Rembrandt's version. I like that they really stick to you teeth better and they are a little gummy so I really press them into all the crevices to make sure it's hitting the in between spots too. I also use whitening toothpast all the time. My teeth only have minor sensitivity issues when I'm using the strips but it generally goes away quickly. My teeth get REALLY white too!
  5. So what exactly does she do then if you take the guests info and give it to her?
  6. I read on here that it's possible cholorine could damage. I still wore mine anyways because I would rather have my ring re-dipped than stolen. It looked perfectly fine and was all sparkly! I've even had my ring checked since I have been back and no problems. The prongs are still holding up tight.
  7. Ugh- I'm so sorry. You know, I would elope if I were you. If your family and friends don't even want to attempt to try to go, why cave and do a wedding at home for them? It's one thing for people to try to save money for months and then realize they just can't afford it, but totally another to not even try. I hope the two of you can figure out what works best. Got my fingers crossed you can find a happy solution.
  8. LOL- I can't say anything. Totally speechless.
  9. I don't think it's tacky but I'm not exactly ms. etiquette. I think most people understand how expensive photos are and what a great gift to the bride and groom!
  10. Wow. It looks like she has grown again. It's amazing how fast they get bigger! She's a cutie Ann- and her hair is so dark!

If I'm still confused (which is very possible-LOL) and you still want a buffet meal, I don't think it's a big deal to serve yourself. After all- it's a buffet. I saw lots of people going back for 2nds. I know my groom went back for thirds! I think it would be hard for servers to keep up with this and try to dish up buffet food because there is usually more options than a plated meal.
  12. We had buffet style- we had 2 servers (I think it was 2) that filled water, got drinks, etc. Everyone else just dished up their own plates. I kinda don't get what you would use servers for. If it's buffet, would they take everyone's order then go over and dish up their plate? That seems silly- maybe I'm misunderstanding.
  13. Our photog ate on her own- our dinner was a buffet. I'm not sure if I was charged for her to eat or not. She took a few pics while we were eating but she and her assitant made sure to eat. They had a table off by themselves. I would think giving her time to go grab some food would be a nice thing to do
  14. Adorable property! Is that a pond I spy? Steve would kill someone for a pond on property.
  15. Oh bummer. I think they are incredibly cute. BUT my beach bag doesn't exactly stand up on it's own. A bigger bag would be desirable so you could throw your pool towel in it.
  16. Put people's gifts in it and pretend it's a Tiffany. LOL
  17. Oh I hope it works out Ann! The RV trip wouldn't be too bad- you would have some good company! If Oregon is on the way- althougth its certainly not the fastest way from point a to b- but nonetheless, I have a empty guest room.
  18. Great job Erin! 6lbs is such a feat! Congrats. Amy, you should post some of your salad dressing recipes!

The pain really wasn't too bad. I have a little redness and itchyness from the tape they used on my back. Fi is really taking good care of me though. He makes sure I get all my meds and wiped down my back to get all the adhesive off. I took some before pictures and will take after pics when I can. Cute. He probably wants to make sure he takes care of you now so he can love 'em up later. I'm glad to hear you are doing well!

Hope you like taxes we got lots of them! For the record, I found all of this quite charming. I loved NYC and can't wait to go back and experience the weird smells and a constant sense of paranoia.
  21. That will end up very pretty Glenda. I have smooshed diamonds on mine too. LOL
  22. I found some really cute ones in tbe bridal section- plus they were in your price range.
