That's not an easy thing to constanly remember. It truly takes work. My dad is a elementary school principal and he has a 5th grader that has no arms OR legs. He said it doesn't slow her down one bit. She eats on her own, goes to the bathroom by herself, etc. I guess I should have her spirit and stop complaining about all my extra flub.
  2. LOL Lauren. It was HIS idea. He works out 6 days a week so he was sweet enough to take a break from his normal work out to help me. It was funny though- he was using the watermelon as weights while were walking. He kept doing lifts above his head with it. People probably thought he was a freak. LOL Gum is a good trick too. From having a desk job, I noticed I want to snack from boredom. I keep water and gum fresh on hand to help combat that. Gum has been a life saver for me.
  3. I think someone did Andi but I could be wrong. I get so confused with all the weddings now. I'm off to think about that unless someone beats me to the answer. As for picture withdrawl, just wait til winter. LOL

Actually Martha, I'm on Actoplus Met (which is basically metformin with some other drug combined). He has me doing that with the Bontril (or phed....something or other that I typed above. LOL) I don't even want to admit how much weight I have gained in the last 7 yrs. It's so sad. I have a lot of weight to lose and I'm confident (at least right now) that I can do it. Are you still taking Metformin? I didn't ask if that's a med I would be on long term. I know the other isn't. I'm to see him in 3 months to see how well I'm doing. I really really hope it works to help me make the needed changes. Gosh- it's so hard to reprogram yourself. I used to eat whatever I wanted no worries. I also was an athlete and very active. I suppose once you cut down on working out at least 2 hours a day, the pizza, beer, hamburgers will catch up right? I've just never had this problem before and had someone told me 10 yrs ago I would weigh what I do now, I would have seriously fainted. Steve is trying really hard to work with me too. Last night we walked to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for dinner (one thing being a watermelon.) The poor guy carried the damn thing back the 2 miles. LOL
  5. You might already be gone but GORGEOUS dress. It fits you perfect. I love the detailing- it's so unique.
  6. Oh no Carly. I kinda remember this being discussed before. Wasn't Matt wanting to do a big ol' ceremony before and you had told him to plan it? Or am I going crazy?
  7. Are you kidding me? I was so over the wedding planning before the actual DW. LOL I'm not having a big AHR though- at least I don't think so. It will be super casual if anything. I feel your pain.
  8. haha those are great Abbie. I love the elephant one. And the last one- oh that's horrible. But I bet she did feel skinnier. LOL
  9. Glenda- I loved how you shared the details of the wedding. Although so much drama went down, I'm sure you have fun retelling the stories. As for you my dear- you looked lovely. Your hair, makeup, dress, shoes all perfection. I'm so glad it turned out to be the wedding you dreamed of. Some what- LOL. I adore the bubble pic. It is beautiful and totally captures the spirit of the day. You two look so happy! Congrats!
  10. How to Look Good Naked - MSN Lifestyle - Beauty & Style - Slideshow - 1 I wanted to post a link to this article/slideshow because I found it quite interesting. Obviously, women have a tendency to have a distorted body image and it was interesting to see how that played out. I hope to catch this TV show when it comes out. I know I need help!
  11. I understand being all over the map- that sounds like me. LOL Hopefully after all this passes you will find that Sam is in a better job than before and he may even thank his dad for being an asshole. It may be the push for him to find something he loves rather than something he tolerates for a pay check. But if I were him, I certainly wouldn't shy away from applying for any job. My husband's job has a requirement for a BA and he still got hired. They liked his worth ethic, fresh insights and attitude. Sometimes employers like those employees they can mold. Your postitive outlook will certain help things go down the right path.
  12. Wohooo Tammy. That will be so helpful for all the brides trying to get ideas!
  13. Ok what is wrong with his DAD!!! Good grief. Anyways, Jenn- tell Sam to not be discouraged. My hubby has no college degree and essentially went to work after hs. He was able to land a good job with his work experience. Ironically enough, I have a college degree and I've been rejected a time or two for lack of experience. Not all employers want the degree. Nine years of experience isn't something to throw away- people will see the worthiness in it.
  14. Someone isn't playing a joke right? And now that they see how upset you are they are afraid to fess up? Do you have jokers at work?
  15. I voted for the second. I like that it matches but isn't matchy matchy. Both rings are beautiful though!
  16. But you took them to work? That's WEIRD.
  17. Have you done the insulin testing? I don't know what the test is called but you fast then drink some sugary stuff every two hours while they draw blood and wait for you to "crash." I did that last year but apparently I didn't listen to the doctor much to cut out flour and sugar and subsequently gained 10 lbs in a year.
  18. Shannon- Did I read that right- You have already shrunk your arms 1/2 inch? That's fabulous! Keep it up!
  19. That's true Danielle. Your brain has a hard time deciphering between thirst and hunger. Stupid thing huh?
  20. Both dresses are beautiful and so flattering. You can totally tell you LOVE your dress. You are all smiles.
  21. It all looks so beautiful. I can't wait to see it materialize. You are going to be the most beautiful pregnant bride. I can't wait to see the bump! Your dress is just so beautiful too! Congrats Karma. Have a ton of fun!
  22. Thanks Abbie. I bawled my eyes out for about half a day though. God how pathetic is that. It's dooms day when a dr tells you no more bread, sugar, potatoes. LOL Steve looked at me like I was psycho but I think the gets it now becuase he's been eating like me for the past week. LOL He just gets to have more chicken than I do.
  23. I had scheduled a TTD but had to cancel since I was so sick. I think it was $300 for an hour. Beth was so great- she refunded it all back. Her rates may have changed. I had contacted her almost 2 years ago. I hope to some day go back to PV and do a TTD. You don't have to be newly married to do one right? LOL
  24. We used to have some problems like that when Steve changed to his new job a year ago. We had to adjust to a TOTALLY different routine. He would sometimes work late (until like 2am) for events and then have the next day off while I worked. I would get SOO pissed because we wouldn't see eachother but he would still go play on his THREE different sports teams. I felt so insignificant. I'm sure that's the same way you are feeling. After a LOT of arguing because he never got it (and it sounds like your husband doesn't either) we compromised to make Sundays our day. We would do fun things on those days- instead of housework like we used to. It really helped and it was just enough couple time for me to get my fix and not feel so neglected. Maybe try to sit aside a day where it's just about the two of you- no questions asked. Don't lose faith Lauren. It's just a rough patch that life sometimes throws at us. Just find a way to fight back and find some sanity.
  25. My doctor just told me some diet pills that work in a healthy way. I of course can't remember the names of them. I will ask my mom to remember for me.
