  1. Glenda- My mom does geneology- not as a job or anything. Just as a hobby. She's currently reseaching Steve's side. He's Greek and his grandpa expressed that he wanted to know more. So my mom has been on the hunt and OH BOY- just in a matter of weeks she has all kinds of interesting stuff. I can definintely ask her some pointers to get you started- like where to look, what to get, etc. Its like a big puzzle. I could even ask my mom to look some stuff up for you. She really enjoys it so I know she wouldn't mind. She does it for people all the time. I would probably need to know info to give to her. Just let me know.

  4. Just saying Sunday is weird. Sunday Rose sounds much better. As for name a child Wednesday- I'm sorry all I can think of is the Adams Family and that's not a compliment. Sunday is WAY better than Apple or Coco in my opinon. At least she isn't named after food.
  5. We were married at 6:15pm- we didn't really have much choice on this. I probably would have had it at least an hour before. If I were you, I'd do 5pmish. 3pm might be a little to hot- especially if it's full sun. Just my thoughts though.
  6. I got married prior to going- I'm sure others of girls have too. I don't think it has much to do with the passport as long as you don't change your name on your passport to the new married name. Your passport name must match your travel documents. If it does, all else is golden.
  7. Oh gosh- what a ton to deal with all at once. I will have your family in my prayers. Congrats on your condo. I know it probably is hard to be excited, but try to not feel guilty in being happy about it.
  8. My dress was light gold. I love the color because it just shimmered and glowed. I think your dress is very pretty. It will photograph well too!

Yep, 90% men that work here. It is better for me physically it just sucks cuz this is who I am and who I have been for 9 years. I never saw myself as anything but a police officer. But everything happens for a reason...time to live by my own advice! We offer 12 wks but vacation and sick leave are used (we have them bundled into one- paid time off) so technically we are paid. That is until our paid time off hours run out. Did you return to work full time after your surgery? If not, you would have still qualified for FMLA to "excuse" the hours you aren't working.
  10. Steph- I don't know much about your time at your company, but please look into this. U.S. Department of Labor - Employment Standards Administration (ESA) - Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - Family and Medical Leave Act It's a federal law that you be granted at 12 weeks of unpaid leave and it sounds like you qualify to me. We have all kinds of rules and regulations regarding FMLA at my company- one of those being that we HAVE to offer FMLA to employees that are eligible. Whether they choose to is up to them, but we can't pray on their ignorance of the law. Maybe you have exhausted 12 weeks- I don't know. Just something to look into. I don't know all the facts, but my hunch is saying it's unlawful. I'm no expert though. Good luck!
  11. Yikes. Wedding dilemmas! I like the chocolate one SO much better. I think it would fit all of them much better and create a nice silhouette so even your sister would be comfortable. I don't think your girls look bad in their dresses, but in my opinion, they look a little matronly. I think the brown would be more fun and elegant. DB bangs out their stuff quick. Do you know how late you have to order the dresses if you were to change. Also, you look super cute in your dress. It fits you beautifully!
  12. Oprah's dude- Bob Green recommended Kashi as a great cereal. I don't know the fiber amounts in it though.
  13. At least when things come to attention like this, it all gets tightened up and people become more careful when treating the patients. Very scary though! Those poor babies!

He said "I will hunt you down and cut your throat." He looked Italian so I thought maybe for a sec he was mafia. LOL Plus the bride was kinda high maintenance too. They had all kinds of drama- I remember her yelling at people the whole time. For example, they didn't have enough money to pay for everything so they had to raid their money tree during the wedding to pay the caterer and photog. LOL Weddings are stressful so I'm sure MTV did catch some of the bad moments and didn't show many of the good.

Thanks, Kathie I was married at Las Caletas in PV. We have a whole thread dedicated to it. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1775 Or you can even go to Destination Wedding Planner for Puerto Vallarta Beach Weddings Also, to view my wedding pics, I have a link in my siggy. Just click on it. We did honeymoon in PV. We stayed at the Barcelo for 2 weeks. It was such a nice break! I wish I could do it all over again. Good luck on your site visit!
  16. Oh geez- what a drama packed weekend huh? Although it's nice you are trying to work it out, I would STRONGLY advise that you make some steps in setting ground rules. Your FI should not get comfortable in treating you that way and you have to make it known that while you forgive him, you will not tolerate it in the future- and stick to it! Otherwise, I'm afraid you might find yourself in a perpetual cycle and he will continue to be disrespectful because he knows he can. Honestly- I can't recommend the book Boundaries in Marriage enough. I would send you my own copy, but I have no idea where it is after I moved. I still have a zillion boxes in the garage so I'm guessing it's out there somewhere! Take care and keep us updated!
  17. I think it would be fun- my DH and I have gone and shot hoops together a few times. I'm pretty athletic so he didn't school me as bad as I thought, but there's no chance of me winning. He did go easy on me though. There's gotta be some type of league you could join- I wonder if there is even a co-ed team. My hubby and I play co-ed softball together (that was my college sport) and we have so much fun. However, I have aged in the last few years and I'm not going to lie- my ass hurts after every single game!
  18. I don't know what to say. I fast forwarded through much of the after show since I stayed up to 1:30am to watch the damn first two hours! I'm exhausted. My heart breaks for Jason but I'm also happy she didn't pick him. I'm not a big Deanna fan- obviously. I don't think her and Jesse will make it but that's the pessimist in me. I think they BOTH have no concept of reality and I can't wait for it to hit them. Wow- I'm grouchy. That's what I get for getting no sleep. LOL
  19. I'm happy to say that I have really tightened up my diet and with the help of the prescribed meds, I have dropped 6 lbs this week. I hope to continue the success. It hasn't been too tough and I feel really encouraged!
  20. I used shutterfly. It was nice because I was able to make our own domain (kinda) name- themanleys.shutterfly.com Also, I could be stupid but I can't post pic from snapfish on the forum. I usually transfer pics people upload in snapfish for me over to our shutterfly account. It's a pain!
  21. I do (did) WW at work. I don't think I'm signing up for the next round. Not that I disliked it- I just got REALLY bored at the classes and didn't find them too informative. I must have googled too much or read all the tips on here. LOL As for motivation- I know what you mean. However, WW is a lifestyle change. If you make the commitment to change, hopefully you won't have that yo-yo affect. I've been there too many times too. I'm hoping this time I can make some lasting changes.

  23. haha I would love it if they did but sadly no. I'm just "filling in" until they get someone hired.
  24. Very cute. I like the church one or the one where he's biting your ear/whispering something/kissing your cheek. LOL the possibilities are endless. Can't wait to see the rest.
  25. Or you could buy people cool gifts. That's my favorite usage of points.
