  1. Marie- that's devastating. I'm soo sorry. Please don't feel guilty though. It's not your fault. People make choices for their own lives- even if we do help coach them along the way. I'm sure he was gratiful for everything you did for him. Take care- you are in my thoughts.
  2. Ummm...I'm not so sure I'm going to say she deserved it. He's an ass- yes. Should he have figured it out sooner- yes. But comeon, it's now not going to be ok when people make a decision to NOT go through with a wedding. I don't know if I really support that notion. I think people should be able to walk away and not be considered responsible for "emotional damage." Does that mean we are going to start allowing people in serious relationships to sue their significant others due to heart break? It doesn't really detail how their wedding was paid for and how much $ went into it. I think he should be held accountable for paying for half the wedding. But if this suit is won due to strictly "emotional damages" and moving to another state therefore giving up her income, too damn bad. Happens all the time- I don't think we should start putting a monetary price on the damages inflicted from a break up. I know others might think differently but I just don't think it's fair to penalize someone for making a HUGE decision about their future.
  3. Steve has a titanium band- it does scratch but it's suppose to be very durable. We looked at tungsten because it's suppose to be the strongest metal and doesn't scratch at all. Steve didn't like the designs so that's why we decided to go with a titanium one (mind you, he wanted a very intricate ring. They have some cool tungsten ones!) This is what he ended up with. It's titanium with a black diamond. $285 from here: black wedding rings 2 Here's some info from here: Tungsten Rings, exclusive Tungsten Carbide Ring collection by Avant-Garde. All our tungsten rings are made with the superior Tungsten-Carbide alloy instead of being made from pure metal. Many jewelers offer pure tungsten wedding rings that do not include Carbide. Tungsten(W) in its pure state is just a regular metal and do not poses the hardness and scratch resistance of tungsten-carbide(WC) and can scratch quite easily. Only when it is processed with carbon © and other elements, and compressed under extreme pressure and temperature, it is transformed into Tungsten Carbide (WC) - the hardest metal ever to be used in jewelry making. All our tungsten rings are cobalt free. There is no cobalt in any of our jewelry. We use nickel binder only. This is very important as the presence of cobalt can cause an adverse reaction with human body, causing skin rashes and discoloration of the ring. What happens is: Skin oils bond with cobalt, bringing it to the surface, resulting in discoloration similar to tarnishing. The cobalt spots cannot be removed by cleaning or even polishing. Tungsten Ring is the most wear resistant wedding band available today. Hardness of tungsten carbide ring is comparable to the sapphire gems. It is between 8.5 and 9 on the Mohs hardness scale (Diamond is a 10 - the highest). Due to this extreme hardness, Tungsten Ring will hold its polish permanently. Tungsten-Carbide can only be scratched by diamonds and corundum family stones, or abrasive materials and tools containing corundum or diamond. Consequently, these bands can be called, scratch proof or permanently polished. All of our wedding bands are made with the comfort-fit feature, providing optimal comfort for continues every day wear, and making it easier to put on and take off. All our bands are laser marked on the inside "TUNGSTEN CARBIDE". So you know, you received the highest quality ring. Our black Zirconium ceramic rings are marked "HIGH-TECH CERAMIC" Can Tungsten Carbide ring be removed in an Emergency? Yes! First try soaking your hand in an ice cold water for 1-2 minute, then apply a lubricant (such as petroleum jelly or hand lotion) between the tungsten ring and the knuckle, hold the ring with a towel and pull with a rocking motion. In an emergency situation where there might be a medical necessity to remove the band (such as hand or finger injury) It is removed by cracking into pieces with standard vice grip locking pliers. The same technique is used for removing ceramic and natural stone bands like onyx or jade. Place vice grip locking pliers over the band and adjust the jaws to clamp lightly. Release and adjust tightening screw one-forth turn and clamp again. Repeat this process until a crack is heard, and then continue clamping in different positions until the hard material breaks away. Be careful not to slide or rotate the cracked band on the finger. This is what our jeweler told us too!
  4. For some people though it's not as easy as that. If you have normal functioning metabolism then it's easy to say moderation is the key. I believe I was exercising and using moderation before but unfortunately, my body is a little bit stricter. After 2 years of continual weight gain and no explanation, I visited the doctor for a series of testing. I found out that my body isn't "normal" which is actually a relief in the end. I know that sounds funny, but when you work your ass off and strictly monitor your food to only find that after MONTHS you haven't lost a single pound, you become frustrated and hopeless. In turn, you figure you should just pig out on anything you want because it doesn't really matter. Now, I understand that eating in moderation isn't really going to work for me. I have to button up my diet A LOT more than that- which I'm ok with as long as I know I can produce results. I'm very thankful to say that I have been seeing a difference so it helps me remain positive and not feel like I'm a failure. But I do have my weak moments- especially when my body decides to celebrate my womanly "gift" every month. LOL I'm ok with caving every once awhile as long as I still try to maintian a healthy approach to my giving in to weak moments. For example, instead of eating a calorie packed dessert to satisfy a craving, I'm happy with turning to a skinny cow sandwich. Or eating baked sweet potato fries with my hamburger instead of normal french fries. I think the main thing if women are experiencing the same frustrations I was to just visit with your doctor. Get all the test done- find out if your body is functioning properly and if it's not, find steps to help yourself out.
  5. Aww thanks Mel. I can happily say I'm down 8 lbs now. That's a nice number for me because it's only been 3 weeks and I don't want to lose too fast. I just want to say that I feel SOOO much better. My diet hasn't changed THAT much because I always watched my flour and sugar intake. However, I have pretty much cut out most flour products and ALL sugar. In return I feel so much more energized and completely positive. I won't lie though- I've had a skinny cow ice cream sandwich and a hamburger with sweet potato fries one day. I feel it's essential though so I don't feel deprived. No wants me to be a raving, craving bitch. LOL
  6. You are welcome Tara! I have a pair VERY similar to that and I know they came from Nordstrom so voila. Easy enough.
  7. IF memory serves me correct, I thought they looked like these: Nadri Teardrop Hoop Earrings - Earrings - Nordstrom They are pretty and on sale for $37! These are similar but more expensive. My mom bought me something similar to this for Xmas. I think this is the same designer. Nadri Large Pavé Hoop Earrings - Earrings - Nordstrom Nadri Medium Pavé Hoop Earrings - Earrings - Nordstrom
  8. ohhhh I like those earrings. Lot of $$ though for one time use- well at least for me. Do you wear earrings alot? Have you looked into our jewelry vendors here- like agape_gems?
  9. You can do it Kacie and Erica! Stay strong and remain positive. I'm sure it's harder than hell but just imagine that sense of pride when you get to start to count the MONTHS since you quit rather than just days. Take it one day at a time. Start chewing gum (sugar free). Skip the pop Erica- go for flavored water instead. Find something that works for you. You have a whole team of cheerleaders!
  10. We had ours at our hotel. In hindsight, I wish I would have had a nice casual one at Fajita Republic. I tried contacting them to set up something prior to the wedding, but I couldn't figure out how to get ahold of them. Their email is [email protected] or something silly like that.
  11. Those are pretty Yari! Are you putting them cardstock or will they be as we see? Pretty either way!
  12. LOL- what a smart husband you have Lauren.
  13. I didn't do menu cards for LC. I did them for my WD but let me go find the template. I think menus would look pretty on the plates btw. I kinda wish I had done them cause I had NO color on my tables. Well I guess I would have if I remembered to pack my centerpeices the day of the wedding.
  14. I'm sure I could beg a few off DH too. He's Greek afterall!
  15. I'm not a big GHI lover. I didn't watch last nights though. It's on my DVR and I'm hoping to have time to watch tonight. The cast for the show really is terrible and I know we aren't alone in thinking that. I saw a lot of comments (on scifi I think) about the cast. I just wish normal GH would do all the international stuff. You know there's got to be some creepy stuff in those really old cities.

Maybe we should hook them up. I would LOVE to buy a Greek island. Count me in. I got a few dollars to chip in. LOL
  17. The one's I bought my bridesmaids were 3 inches. Let me post a pic to give you an idea of the size. I know when I was picking one out I had a hard time visualizing what each size would look like. Mine was MUCH bigger at 4 inches: I didn't really intend for it to be that big, but I just rocked it anyways. I didnt want to have to send it back or mess with it.
  18. I think it would be cute. It's also some nice motivation!
  19. Oh my goodness. Freakin people. That's in my neck of the woods. I'm willing to do some investigative work for you, but unless Abbie and Christa back me up, I don't think I want to go knock on any doors. I'd get the shit kicked out of me. Any updates- anything you need?

I'm totally crushing on you. I said I forgot people! You haven't been around often- must be enjoying the newlywedness. LOL Or Brendan is worried about all these potential crushes so he stole you away from BDW.
  22. Oh my mom didn't even want to go to LC with me the day of the wedding cause she said I would be too stressed and bitchy. I told her I was completely chill about the whole wedding process and I don't think she really believed me. She went though and was so surprised how chill I was. It's completely out of character for me. I'm so high strung.
  23. LOL Yari. At least you won't be gluing your menu cards together on your way to the airport. Trust me, doing it your way is so much less stress in the end.
