  1. Carla- I have a question. So what if your mom considers you not married? In the big picture, how does what your mom thinks change your relationship with your FI? I think this is an area where you should never compromise. This is the vows you are making to your FI and it doesn't really matter who else validates it as long as he does. I think you would really regret altering your wedding ceremony to suite your mother especially when you use the term "hate" to describe your views on the religion you were raised in.
  2. Happy Birthday Abbie!!! I hope Doug treats you to a fabulous day. You deserve it.
  3. i haven't read what others wrote so I could be repeating (not that it hurts to have it drilled in right? ) First, it sounds like all this stress is unnecessary. Don't freak about numbers yet. It's so early and you will find that less people will come that you expected. I would say about 2/3 won't come...but you could have a more dedicated group than the norm. Second, it sounds like you are super stressed because this wedding has spiraled out of control and not one thing is what YOU want. Take the reins back and put your foot down- nicely. There isn't a need to get all bridezillaish and piss your FMIL and FI off to no end. Just remind FMIL that it's YOUR wedding and make compromises with your FI. It's between the 2 of you and no one else. Don't feel bad about reminding others that they don't belong in the decision making. Third- no matter if you pick the most perfect place possible, you will have people bitch. Recognize that and shut out all negativity. Some one will always grumble- it's too much money, it's not nice enough, I'd prefer ___, etc. Who gives a shit- they have hte right to choose whether or not to come and if they don't like it, they can stay home- Which sounds like you really wouldn't mind anyways. Most importantly, relax. It will all work out. The early months are the roughest cause you are treading unfamiliar territory and you are receiving the most negativity. WE have all been there. It gets better. Just take it in stride and concentrate on what matters most.

Which (don't get me wrong) is great BUT having them come makes me concerned because both my grandma and FI's grandma do not get around too easily....the terrain at Las Caletas combined with the boat ride has me a bit frazzled today!!! They all know about the boat ride...my bigger concern is getting to the ceremony location at LC.... Does anyone have any insight for me on how some of your older guests did while at Las Caletas? I am sure it will be fine I just need some reassurance!!!! thanks! My grandparent's both went. They are both younger (70's) or maybe I meant young at heart. Anyways, my grandpa has a bad knee- probably needs some surgical intervention soon. He made it from the boat to the ceremony fine. One thing- the boat arrived late so they had to be rushed. THat made it a bit harder on them and I know he was hurting. I didn't find this out until a few days after the wedding when he kinda grumbled. Soo I guess what I'm trying to say- It's all good in the hood. Just give them plenty of time to get there. And if they aren't too proud (like mine!) a wheelchair is readily available.
  6. You know- I have a video on our myspace of me face planting during a wakeboard trip. I will have to figure out how to share our myspace so you guys can laugh at my expense. BTW- our myspace (Steve & mine) is really stupid. We have like 8 friends and we are never on. So I don't want people to think it's cool or anything. LOL WE just created it because our wedding website got attacked by our friends so we created a myspace so they could put their inappropriate comments there.
  7. I'm sorry Calia. That's so sad. I'm such an animal lover so I know how you feel.
  8. Congrats Jenn on making the RIGHT wedding happen. Can't wait to read a review.

They were all up in our business.
  10. WOW! That sounds so exciting. Definitely let us know when it airs! And WELCOME.
  11. Holy crap Alyssa. I don't think you could have done more if you tried! Everything is fabulous and absolutely flawless. I can't wait to see it all. I can't believe it's nearly time. EEEKKK!
  12. Oh this is so creative. I love what you girls (and guy) are doing!!!
  13. I knew this had to derive from a Japenese game show. I don't like the show that follows it though. The reality show bit throws me off.
  14. Cute hair Morgan. I think it will look so chic and it goes perfectly with the style of the dress. I'm so eager to see how you do that. I always thought the buns were cute.
  15. Oh ya- the called him "below the belt ____". The commentators make that show even better.
  16. Ummm...I'm thinking I would do the running slip jump and end up in a very uncomfortable splits. Or fall off backwards hitting my head on the way down. I LOVE BIG RED BALLS. LOL

So glad they kicked some ass. Quote: Originally Posted by ~*petals*~ I am! Can't wait for track & field this weekend! LOVE track & field. I can't wait for it to start up too! THat's the WORST part. Every other Olympics I was in school so I didn't have the typical 5 day work week. I used to be able to lounge around all day and watch the Olympics. I'm so sad I miss some, but I'm glad most of the big events are prime time viewing. Now if only I can keep my eyes open..... LOL I'm sorry, but that whole limping with a hurt ankle thing really pissed me off. I know so many athletes who play injured and the adrenaline totally takes you through the pain. I can't imagine what the adrenaline would be like doing a vault for an Olympic gold, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have felt much pain. PLUS I'm pretty sure NO athlete would walk away from an chance to make history because of a sprained ankle so I guess I didn't see what she did was so special (in regards of her sucking it up- not the landing a perfect vault.) Gosh I'm still ranting about her.....LOL

I'm STUPID so I continue to try to do things as if I won't hurt myself. People used to tell me all the time I needed to be on a reality show. I'm thinking that's not a compliment. Anyone watch wipeout? I totally deserve to go on that show. I pee myself laughing each time cause I can just picture myself doing some of those hysterically funny wipeouts.

  20. Beautiful dress! Fits your perfectly and the details are gorgeous.
  21. Wow. It's amazing how much it changed your skin tone. I like the color it brought to your face. Nice choice. It will lighten a lot too. My hair was so dark and now it's a light brown. I want to dye it back dark dark again.
  22. I like the idea of the gazebo one- 23- to be an aged ("sepia" right?)thank you card. Gazebos just look like part of the "older" world romance stuff to me. I know that didn't make sense, but in my head it did.
  23. Love the bamboo favors Carly. Those turned out beautiful. The sushi looks so yummy too! What a great idea to serve that at a AHR. It looks like the party got started too. Love the bare butt pic! LOL
  24. I'll check my old emails but I had contacted a bride a LONG time ago about bridgeport. I will see if I have the email still as well as a link to her photos. I didn't go with Marisa in the end though.
  25. Found! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21012 Sorry about your nose though. I hope you recover quickly!
