  1. Me too because book 4 didn't answer all the questions but made more! Like how is Renesemee going to develop? (I hope that wasn't a spoiler, but I don't think I gave away much.)
  2. I never feel like I get closure- even with the storyline received closure, I wonder "what's happening now?" as if it's all real. I definitely get very wrapped up in good books.

I didn't really see Los Burros as a nice sit down dinner place, but rather a festive, casual place. For $50 pp you better be getting some awfully good grub and environment. I know you said you are waiting til you get there, but check out Fajita Republic Yari. They have a nice atmosphere and some really good fajitas. Actually Steve and I REALLY wished we would have had our WD there. It was like $15 for steak, shrimp and chicken fajitas. We paid WAY more than that for our WD and the people didn't really like the food. LOL Oh well....

It is the exact same leaders of the parties (more or less) that they had in the last election. That's interesting. I guess it's somewhat unfortunate that we couldn't have an election any time we wanted in the last 8 years.
  5. I'm ok with the shows being rescheduled too. I would like to watch The Office though so I'm with Morgan (well except I'm not wearing a tshirt with a jello'd stapler.)
  6. I actually know a lot of people who have registered to vote for the first time. That's pretty exciting. I think many people are concerned with the future of our country so now they are actually taking the time to be involved.
  7. Trust me- I KNOW. Thankfully that thread is probably no longer in existance so they will never know what naughtiness we have been up to!
  8. I reported one. It was a nice midday afternoon viewing. LOL
  9. We celebrate creepiness. haha Welcome and no more lurking. We need to know all about you so when the question gets popped, we can celebrate it up!
  10. Are those two events related? I imagine in a small town they are. SOOO scary. I don't blame you for being terrified. I hope they catch this asshole quick and make it very painful for him.

Kaylee- I'm not a harry potter fan and I used to make fun of some of my friends that read the series. Just being a literary snob. Anyways, it's not really fantasy. It's modern day society (a small town in Forks, Wa) where "teenage" vampires try to blend in. It's nothing too out there that you can't wrap your brain around- which is kinda how I felt when I tried to read Harry Potter. I couldn't keep up with all the weird words.
  12. I understand where you are coming from Calia. However, just to play the Devil's advocate writers don't always write from a viewpoint that necessarily agrees with their own beliefs. Writing allows you to exlore the unknown and juxtapose your own beliefs against that of what you are writing. You can even argue that when you explore the beliefs of what you are "against," you may become more familiar or solid in your own. (Not that I think this is what Meyer was doing. She may have slipped the sex from pressure, but maybe her views on sex aren't exactly parallel with Mormon beliefs. There are many that practice a particular religion but do not agree 100% to everything.) As for parental content, well just with everything, parents have to be informed. I certainly know that when the day comes, I will have certain shows and stations blocked because I don't ask society to censor for me. I know not everyone takes that approach, but it's not hard to research the content of a particular book. Granted, they could have started one-three and found 4 to be a little out there. But I don't know if I would let my child read a "vampire" book if they were too young to understand the hints of sexual tension.

At first, I thought I was kinda stupid for reading young adult but then I realized that I was not alone.
  14. I actually read them after Rachelle recommended them in another thread. I LOVED them. I'm not a big "fluff" reader and while I didn't think her style of writing was poetic or stylish, I did like the storyline. It really pulls you in hook, line and sinker. If you are looking for something to read and not put down, I think this is a great book/series. I loaned them to 4 of my friends and ALL have raved about how they couldn't put them down. So don't read them if you don't want to be distracted. As for the sex in the book, I didn't think it was bad. You definitely get more sex on our prime time TV shows which many young adults view (this series is young adult.) This is obviously a personal opinion and many will have different opinions- which is great. Just for me, I didn't think the sex was too much exposure. Funny thing- there are a lot of older adults who like the series as well. I talked to one of my mom's friends who told me she just returned from a trip to Forks, Wa (which is the setting of the book). I was like "Really? I just read a book that was set in that town." Then she went off about how Twilight inspired the trip. haha- kinda funny.
  15. Ok I'm in the minority too and I'm pretty laid back towards most stuff so my view is a given I suppose. We celebrated my mom's bday during our wedding week (it was her 50th) and I actually secretly hoped that our wedding would inspire our BM to propose to his long time girlfriend- no dice. To be honest, no one will care. As you said, no one knows them but you and Joe so I doubt they are going to go around flaunting their engagement and sharing it with everyone. I'm sure it will be a more quiet affair and they will probably sneak off to dark corners. Just watch- they will find the bed at LC. Honestly Tara, you will see that in the end this won't even be something you think about months/years later. Don't let a tiny thing like this stress you out. Plus I think it's kinda cute that when you attend THEIR wedding, they will probably mention how it all came about at your wedding. Then you can announce your baby. hahahaha

Callie was too much of a man lover to suddenly turn gay but Erica- ya I can see it.

Just something to consider.
  18. Oh Erica- that's terrible. I know how things like that impact a small community- I live in one. The town I grew up had a horrible incident somewhat similar a few years ago. A transient raped and murdered one of the two nuns who were walking a bike path. Sooo sad. It totally rocked the community.
  19. Gorgeous pics. Who knew bd pics would end up a DIY project?? I'm really impressed. You have some gorgeous pics in there and it's a little voyeuristic- just gives it a hot edge. Kudos to you.
  20. I know- it was fun watching sports center. All the guys totally were scratching their heads like UHHH what happened? Cute pic Casey. I love it.
  21. haha you can somewhat thank Oregon State for that. What a crazy turn of events this weekend....
  22. Step by step, Ohhhh babby. haha LOVE IT. That takes me back a few years. Joey looks like he was singing to you in one of those pics. Wooohooo.
  23. haha Jaime. Your friend is right. I just checked the math on the calculator. Impeach Birk!
  24. Well I'm all up for chopping. As for how to wear it for a special occassion, I think if it's a sleek little bob, then it would still look great with a nice dress. Or you could always do curls- my hair is naturally curly and somedays I just let the curls fly and I actually get more compliments on my hair when it's natural. Funny huh?
