  1. I don't think we ever discussed that in much depth. She asked me if I wanted a group shot, so we did that. Then she asked if we wanted to family shots, so we did that. She just did her thing. I figured she knew better than me what to capture. I didn't really have much thoughts in that area. But if you have specific shots you REALLY want, I would suggest touching base with her to make sure you are on the same page. Def can't hurt. Btw- Beth is fantastic!
  2. this was a hard spot for us when we first got together. It was such a juggling act and bouncing from house to house was more tiresome to me. I hated it because I felt like I didn't have time to really celebrate the holidays. Fortunately, his parents have conceded and decided to have xmas on the 27th this year. Yay! No more bouncing around. When we start having little ones though, I'm thinking we will propose to have the holidays at our house. They can all come and we can celebrate together rather than running around crazy. GL- it's definitely hard, but maybe it's time you come up with some new traditions that will work for your both as a couple.
  3. Beautiful work Courtney! I love em Kate. Great job. I'm sure your BM will love you that much more!
  4. Def bring a mirror so you can see the back of your head when your hair is done. I bet Fernando does this, but just in case any other girls have someone else or do their own hair. Also, I had 7 or 8 (I can't remember- ha) people getting ready the day of. Two of them were the groom and his BM. It was hard getting around one another, but nothing too stressful. No worries. Just take turns and make sure it's clear the bride is priority!
  5. We have a "share your wedding photos" sub forum. Have you perused that site? Anyways, I had a maggie dress and my DH wore linen pants with a white button up. A link to my pics is in my siggy. Good Luck. I think it will look good and don't waste too much time trying to "prove" to them it will look good. It's your wedding.
  6. Thanks girls. For me personally, this was a great tool for planning my wedding and an added perk was the building of relationships with the fellow members- which is why I still hang around. But seriously, I don't even understand why members get involved in all the drama- what's the point? I'm sure everyone has bigger fish to fry in their normal lives. Be courteous, chat it up, plan to your heart's content and you will see no troubles. Vendors are here to build their business- first and foremost, just as we are here to plan our weddings. Don't get those roles confused. If someone messes up and got in trouble, they more than likely deserved it and broke rules. I'm sorry you Mods even need to explain this. If everyone went about their business and did what they needed to do, then we wouldn't have to have PSA's to explain why people who broke rules got what was coming to 'em. But alas, you have to so thanks for keeping our forum clean and happy. Woohoo to Mod day.
  7. I'm going to see it tomorrow night. I can't wait to contribute but I've heard that Jasper and Alice both don't see much screen time. That's too bad. I also heard Edward compared to teen wolf cause of his hairy chest-LMAO. Can't wait to see it all though!
  8. Hi Betsy! Sounds like you have had a bunch of (hopefully exciting) changes. So glad you are back. I haven't been around as much either. Work cracked down on internet usage- woe is me. It's hard to connect during my time away from work, especially since I try not to be on the computer all night when DH is home. Anyways, just wanted to say hi- you were missed!
  9. Both are great!!! Love the earrings. Especially since you can definitely re-wear. Love the curved bands on the ring too.

I bought these and I had to hack saw off some of the rod so it would fit in my suitcase. I confess that I meant to bring them home though and forgot. Oh well- as long as they have a nice home for our future LC brides.
  11. Congrats Karma and Steve. I can't wait to see the pics of the little one!
  12. Andi- I'm pretty sure Tara will explain but she had her wedding on a Sunday. It used to be twice as expensive but thankfully LC changed it. I was totally jealous with that steal of a deal!! Great review Tara. Everything looked gorgeous. I can't wait to see more pics of the tables. And of course you!!! Where are those pics? Loved the chuppa. It was beautiful. They did an excellent job constructing it. I bet having it your wedding on a Sunday helps too since they don't have to rush to put it together after the day trip leaves. That's another perk! And yum your cake! Did they get a new cake maker? Yours is too die for! Congrats girly!
  13. Oh and I meant to mention it's ok to just get a band and wait for your perfect ring. After 20 years of marriage, my mom finally got the ring she always wanted and they didn't have to go broke doing it. It makes it a little more sweet when you don't have to have your ring cause you anxiety every time you pay the bill!
  14. Hey Michelle- I have just an "ering" but I don't really like any rings with it so it gets used as both. Remember to get something you really love and fits in your budget. We didn't have a ton of money either, but my DH was able to pick out the perfect ring for me without going bankrupt. If you like the idea of having just one ring, look at some unity rings. Here's my ring and well Steve's too. I love it and we easily paid it off! You can have the best of both worlds.
  15. and Heidi got fired for drinking on the job. That was a great moment. When the head honcho comes up to her and asks if she's still working she drunkly slurs "Arree youuuu?"

I'm a Christian too, but I just can't wrap my brain around the picking and choosing of which of God's words we want to make law. If I'm going to get irrational and place my beliefs on others, I'd like to see adultery become illegal. It's not hard to get a divorce and move on! Now how's that for saving the sanctity of marriage. Michelle- didn't mean to ignore you either. I read what you wrote and completely agreed with you. I didn't have anything valid to add other than a "ditto" but I'm too lazy to quote people.
  17. Great news. I would loved to see this over turned nation wide. I couldn't believe a few others (Az and FL right?) that had this on the ballot. Did you see that Ak passed a law permitting unmarried couples from adopting or being foster parents. Geeezz.
  18. Beautiful pic Tara. I love the colors and your hair looks soooo pretty. Congrats again. Now back to baby making.
  19. cute cute cute! Congrats Martha. I hope he stays a "good" baby for you.
  20. You know Abbie- women didn't earn the right to vote over night. Many women fought this battle for decades. The same for the Civil Rights Movement. Little by little we can make an impact and hopefully those beautiful children you and Yari are raising will find that they too can rise above the "law." It's not always right.

I'm really happy that despite it all, you can set aside your personal opinion and support your president. You are a much better person than I was 4 years ago. I really hope this can help unite Americans and not make us feel so divided. Quote: Originally Posted by KarmaB This is the most amazing day of my life! I really hope America can become a country respected by others. It seems that we may be turning that corner. I too am so proud to be part of this historical moment!!
  22. I do have to say that I hope in our lifetime we can see this change. Did you hear the part in Obama's speech talking about the 106 yr old woman and the change she had witnessed. That's crazy to wrap your brain around. I couldn't help thinking "wow, in your grandparent's life time they have seen it go from being illegal to sit next to a black man on a bus to having him become your president." That's a huge accomplishment. I hope that our generation will be able to raise children that have their hearts filled with love and acceptance and they can make a difference in the future.
  23. Christine- I understand your sentiments. I am completely disappointed in the people of Ca. For those that do use religion as their guide in voting for Prop 8, I would like to know why we pick and choose which of God's words we want to live by. Why aren't all of the Ten Commandments law? Why not make adultery illegal? Why allow those to worship other Gods? Why not enforce the day of Sabbath and make it illegal to work on Sundays? I know this seems a little extreme, but I think making it a law that marriage is only between a man and woman is very extreme. That's the only point I'm hoping to make. If you use God's words as the reason for why it's right to enforce laws that forbid gay marriage, then I just want to know why we can pick and choose which of God's words we live by.
  24. I would quote but I'm too lazy tonight. Great discussion thus far and I'm absolutely THRILLED it stayed on topic and didn't become attacking. Thanks for the libertarian vote- I do like the ideology of the party but I felt my vote would be better put to use for the two big parties. I would like to see more options in the future though and I know I'm definitely not helping that wheel turn but I really like Obama too. We actually had a measure that proposed making it a two party system in our state- which is determined in the primaries. I totally voted a big NO on that one.
  25. bahahaha Kristie- that's cause they never made it to Hollywood. I think they are still trying..
