Everytime I hear that song I think of their dance. Amazing. What the heck is Rock the Reception? IF this is a show they do I must find it stat!!! They also choreographed a big dance for America's Best Dance Crew last season.
  2. Post wedding blues? I dunno- I think it's natural. You have probably been running non-stop and it's always so exhausting to come back from a vacation. I can't remember what I was like just after the wedding but I know I was a worthless turd at work for about a month BEFORE the wedding and a few months after. I didn't want to work- I just wanted to be back on the beach lounging. Don't get worried. You need a break. Your probably just mentally, physically and emotionally tapped out. There was a lot going on!
  3. So I read the first and last page of this thread and skipped the middle- just finished reading it all. Celina- $75 to change a name after a year? Shit. I missed that boat. Katrina- your cruise sounds wonderful. I'm incredibly jealous. LIke JEALOUS! And your new baby nephew is a cutie. Congrats. Kristy- you are so sweet. Now I feel really bad for being MIA!
  4. Hey hey. A place for the old ladies to hang out. I'm SOOOO over wedding planning but I pop into some wedding related threads every once and awhile because I like giving my 2 cents (like it's needed! ha.) Nothing has really changed in my life- no house, no babies (except a new puppy). But can I admit that DH and I did NOTHING for our year anniversary? I mean we were in Reno on a short trip with my parents, but it was not planned for our anniversary. Pretty lame, but then again I didn't really care. I didn't really enjoy planning the wedding so I don't really like fussing over stuff. I did take a mini forum break- my apologies. My work load really picked up there for a bit so I was MIA. I made my reapperance a few weeks ago so what up girls!!
  5. Alyssa- here's the info I had in my little puppy manual: Probiotics Probiotics are the good “friendly” bacteria that reside in our dog’s intestinal tract and promote the growth of intestinal flora that help to fully digest food. They include Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, among others. If your dog has had antibiotics, which destroy these good bacteria along with all the bad bacteria, it is especially important to add them back into the diet. You can add plain (unsweetened) yogurt (look for multiple strains) to your dog’s diet or you can just get a probiotic supplement at your natural foods store and adjust the dosage for your dog (adult human supplements are based on a 150 pound human). One brand I know of made just for dogs is Animal Essentials. It has enzymes and probiotics.
  6. Oh and I meant to add that Amy is right- chewing prevents buildup so make sure Sugar chews on some toys or give her a good brushing. Brushing their teeth is hard to start when they are older so if you don't already do it, it may be hard to begin. I would just make sure she has something that stimulates chewing!
  7. Alyssa- I give our dogs a teaspoon every day of plain yogurt. The brand I get is organic and I didn't do low fat. Carly- I have a baby bulldog as you know and when we first got him, we continued to feed him the food the breeder did before we began to switch. OMG his farts were rancid. We've since switched his food and so much better. I've also read that elevating their food helps because they don't gulp it so not as much air gets ingested. Makes sense. So we now elevate his food, soak his food so he eats it slower and give him yogurt. I haven't smelled a fart in about a week so yahoo!! Also, I have a bunch of pdfs on bulldog health, plus some great info on foods! PM your email addy and I'll send it to you if you want.
  8. I think it's ok that you don't have your ring. I'm not sure if your wedding is a "secret" but it would kinda suck putting it on then having to take it off. The best thing about putting the wedding ring on is knowing that it stays there- forever! I didn't use a ring to get married- it's not big deal. Just tell them before hand that you aren't exchanging rings and they can easily cut that out. Or you could do some fake ring like Andi suggested. That would be cute too. I wore jeans and a top for my legal day. We didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Plus we got married in a vegas drive thru sooo....yeah.
  9. Where's Dominic? I LOVE that boy. Plus I got to see him and Hok on America's Best Dance Crew! Seriously, I want my sister to marry either Dominic or Gev. They are too cute!! Plus they can move.
  10. Oh that is the first dress I ever tried on. It's very pretty! But I agree with all the girls- get your dream dress. And Carly said it best- no one will see it all laid out and compare the details like you will!
  11. LOVE LOVE this show. We went to the concert last year. It was AMAZING. WE had so much fun! Best part- DH loves it probably even more than me!
  12. The show was awesome. I can't think of any other awards show that was that entertaining and star packed! I mean each time someone came out to sing I was blown away that AI was able to get that artist. INSANE. And omg- Bikini girl diss. Best part of the night. I had to rewatch that section like 3 times cause her bitchy face was soooo priceless. Congrats to Kris. I'm really happy he won. He was the underdog going in and I totally didn't think Adam deserved to win over him. It's like everyone expected Adam to walk away the champ and that was really unfair to Kris. He's just as talented- just in a different way. I'm also not digging the excuse that America wasn't ready for a guy like Adam. I heard it on our news right after the show and I heard it again on the radio this morning. Ummm....say what? Adam got to the top 2!! He obviously had a lot of America backing him so yes, I'd say America was ready. Kris just out performed him the last 2 shows IMO.
  13. Congrats! Ditto to the arch- it was pretty! I love the sequence of you two walking on the beach together. Very natural and the happiness just radiates off you!

I might have to check out the series! I need some new books!
  15. What the chuck!! I HATE watching new shows because I get sad when I like them and they get axed. Privileged was cute. I'm sad. Terminator was my husband friendly show so I'm sad to see that one axed too. We rarely can watch TV together! I love all the crime shows and he hates those so we need more comedy/action in prime time! I heard that Ugly Betty was moved to Friday. Isn't that like the kiss of death?
  16. Oh NO!! I'm sorry you were forced to cancel but did I read your siggy right- your wedding is in Nov? Why was MIL so worried? That's odd! Without brining all that drama up, I think an email would be fine- maybe send a nice brochure in PDF format. There are a few templates here that you could use. I sent out a PDF about Puerto Vallarta about 2 weeks before the wedding with some key information, what to pack, what to expect, etc. The guests appreciated it. You could also print it and mail to people without email access (and I can't believe they still exist, but they do!!) Also, maybe check out Alyssa's thread about chaning her location. She had to do a 180 since her resort closed. I believe she sent a brochure. I'll try to find the thread and link it here for you. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t27082 Here's her planning thread- you can see the pdf newsletter I'm talking about like 4th post in. I hope that helps some!
  17. Simple answer- YES! It's even more difficult because you constantly see great ideas on BDW so it makes you rethink everything. My advice- go with your gut and stick with it. No need to stress yourself out to make everything "perfect." Not to be a Debbie Downer, but no matter how much planning you do something will go wrong. It may be a small thing, but the best lesson you can learn is to roll with the punches. Focus on the positive and have the best time of your life!
  18. OMG- I would TOTALLY be up for that. Catch the flu and get a free trip? That's awesome!
  19. Well crap I know what that looks like! I have sooooo many pictures of myself at every weight. haha it's sad! You should see my closet and all the sizes. Steve complains I have too much clothing- nope, I have too much FAT!!!
  20. I get where you are coming from Crystal and it seems this problem has popped up numerous times on BDW. There are always people inviting themselves. Here's a couple of solutions: Accept that the invite has been extended and suck up the $100. Don't stress over wedding crap and $100 will not make or break you. Plus you have a whole year to save for it! Ask your mom to explain to the in laws that while they are more than welcome to come on the trip, unfortunately you would like to have a simple, small ceremony. (This might end up being quite offensive). Realize that a lot of people will express interest in the beginning and end up not coming. Afterall- your wedding is a year out. I wouldn't worry until you see plane tickets! If they barely know you, why would they be so adamant to shell out that kind of money to see you get married? KWIM? It goes two ways. Personally- I would ride it out. No need to start pissing off your step dad, mom or the inlaws over something that may never even happen! Plus if it does happen, I would keep peace and pay the extra $100. The stress and drama is not worth it in the end.
  21. So I get both sides of this argument too. While Carlos probably had a "act of God" stipulation in his contract (at least I would assume so) it probably would have made more sense to at least try to negotiate since you were being fair and only asking for half. Instead he kept the money and got his name spread on a DW planning site in a negative way. Either way he loses I suppose. My photog, Elizabeth Lloyd, refunded my money for a TTD session because I became VERY ill on my wedding day. No questions asked- she gave me all my money back and I didn't even ask. So now she refers brides to me and I let them know how awesome she was for doing that!
  22. Its tough to tell- last night was kinda hard to watch because there were sooo many guys. But I think he stayed!! At least for me- it got confusing and there weren't any fun moments IMO. I generally don't start lovin the show until they skim down some of the guys.
  23. She gave it to the guy that got so nervous he forgot to talk. LOL. I can't remember his name. There were too many dudes running around!
