My DH thought she was being bitchy to Cat at the end. I thought maybe she didn't speak English? I liked some of the stuff they did, especially the stunts. But for performance factor, I like the show's style better!

Oh Erin- it's already been broughten. I LOVE Bring It On. Seriously, back when I was in college and living in the dorms (with no cable TV!) we watched that movie on VHS all the time! LOL- I sound really old now. Who says VHS anymore? Or has no cable TV in dorms?

I agree ballroom solos are tough, but then I think of Chelsea, Benji or Lacey. I always was very entertained with theirs so Asuka (if that's how you say her name!) needs to step it up a tad. Max too- I didn't realize he was ballroom. HAHA! I thought he did good in his performance because I thought he was contemporary. Then I watched his solo last night and I was so confused with what he was doing. He's at the bottom of my list now. He reminds me of David Archuletta (or however his name is spelled.)

So unfortunately I watched two espisodes of "I'm a Celebrity (not really)". I only did because someone told me about Speidi's antics. I couldn't believe how they acted on that show. It was ridiculous and really offensive to Christianity IMO (and I'm not really that religious!) They totally made a mockery of faith. Anyways, I think it's kinda funny that the Heidi who constantly prayed on the show and said Jesus this, Jesus that is now posing nude. Not that God has anything against nudity (you know, since he created us that way) but WOW. This is getting ridiculous.

I was kinda upset about their explanation for letting Paris go. It's kinda BS that Asuka gets to skate by because she doesn't have a lot of competition in her style of dance. I thought her solo wasn't too good and her performance was def in the bottom (only because everyone else really brought it!) Since when do they cut people based upon keeping the right combo of styles? I've never heard them refer to that before. I thought it was always the best that stayed- as it should be!! I also think Paris had one strike against her because Tony was the obvious choice to go for the boys. They probably didn't want to break up partnership already. Tony did not bring it in his performance or his solo. I wasn't too upset to see him go. I LOVE hip hop and I don't think he really does his own style justice! This season is already starting out exciting! I love the competition and I love how you can't really tell who's going home. Past seasons the first few eliminations were pretty obvious.

Steam Mops Reviews: Best Steam Mops This is a good article that rates the different products against eachother. I think I'm going with the bissell. Walmart carries them too!

Thanks girls for your help. I told my mom about it so she is all gung ho looking it up. She likes anything that cleans!

Last night was fabulous! What a great way to kick off the show. I'm just shocked that so many great numbers came out of the FIRST show. I kinda feel bad for whoever gets kicked off because no one was really bad. The competition was just so fierce! I agree with everything you girls have written. Tony (while I LOVE the hip hop genre) just didn't bring it as much as I hoped he would. I mean- this was his style!! and I think his partner (oops-her name escapes me) really brought it. I'm not sure who else I would vote off though. That Bollywood kiss- oh boy. I don't think they meant to go that far and have it be lip to lip. But it seems like they liked it! I always like when the partners really like eachother. Brandon- he showed a lot of personality and showmanship last night. I was impressed!

Sweet. You girls have me convinced! I saw the infomercial and really wanted one but I'm always so hesitant of them. Have you used it on furniture or carpet like they show?
-
Jess, I've also read that it was carried at Costco one time but I'm not sure how long ago that was. I haven't looked at their website yet. Also, I've read some reviews that say the Bissell version is better but I think it's a bit more expensive.

Awesome. What kind of flooring do you have? I know it says it can be used on hardwood but I'm somewhat nervous about that.
-
So I got stuck watching an infomercial for the Shark steam mop and now I'm kinda interested in one. I like the idea that no chemicals are used (I have pets!), it uses steam to clean and sterilize (I have dirty pets!!) and I HATE mopping the floors. It looks so easy and it sure beats me mopping on my hands and knees. Our house is almost entirely hardwood floors so my knees take a beating and I don't like the way other mops clean! I've done a little bit of research on them, but was wondering if the BDW girls have any personal experience.

OMG- you explained my DH to a T! That dude spends his money on little shit all the time- bottled water, energy drinks, protein bars. Every day he goes into a convenience store and comes out with a damn bag full of this shit. I try to explain that it adds up. $5 a day= $150 a month!!! I've tried encouraging him to keep receipts and keep track. Or hell, give me the receipts and let me keep track. It's an on going battle. UGH!!! So anyways, back to you. Just wanted to let you know I'm feeling it. What we did was set up a goal to put $100-$200 (or something like that) to our wedding budget each month. We had (and still do!) separate accounts so we were saving about $200-$400 a month for a year. He did it- I think some months he did have to cut down on his frivulous spending, but now that we no longer have a wedding to save for, I'm back fighting for him to save at least a little bit each month.

We stayed a week with guests and then a week by ourselves. THankfully they all left, but honestly the week after they left was so nice. DH and I got to do whatever we wanted without considering others. When we were with guests, we always felt like we needed to keep tabs on everyone, play hostess, invite them to dinner, etc. You def need a break to just relax, unwind, and celebrate being married. Explain that to him- he probably will see it that way too!

Does your FI/DH know how much you weigh?
jajajaja replied to jk1101's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
My DH doesn't know my weight and I don't plan on sharing it either! Thankfully he has never asked because I like to believe he doesn't care. I'm in denial right now so I don't even really want to admit to myself my weight. Don't feel bad- you don't have to share EVERYTHING with your significant other. Keeping your weight secret is not really a "secret." Some things can be private! Personally, I don't think your FI really has a reason to be mad at you for not sharing your weight. I mean, he may feel like you don't trust him or you're embarrassed to share with him so I can see how that can be upsetting to him. But "mad?" I don't think that's something to get angry over. If the # aspect throws you off, maybe compare BMI. Or set small goals to help you achieve like working out x days, dietary goals, etc. Good luck on your quest to become healthier. I think having a partner in the journey will help you! -
Advice to Brides from a MOH
jajajaja replied to KittenHeart's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Thankfully no Morgan. But then again, I'm not exactly close with a ton of girls so I don't think I will have to be in any more weddings, except for my sisters. Honestly, I think I'm just jaded by the whole wedding thing because I have a huge family and every single one I have been to they expect me to work. I have only been to a few weddings were I could just be a guest and not do a damn thing. It's an entirely different experience to say the least. I get what you are saying though Savannah. I just think sometimes bridal parties get to bare more work than they should because of "traditional" thoughts of what's expected. I guess I really meant to say that if you want to help out with someone's wedding and put a lot of time and money into it because you WANT to then by all means do. I just don't think it should be expected- even if you are bridal party. Not everyone has a lot of time and a lot of money to contribute. So if you are in the latter, you get stuck in a hard place. Do you decline or do you look like the BM that all the girls on the forum complain about KWIM? -

Savannah- I somewhat see where you are coming from. As bridal party, sometimes you just suck it up and do it because it's your friend. Of course, you also have an alternative to not accept a bridal party position if you feel it's too much money or too time consuming. However, I would say that when a friend asks you to be in their bridal party they haven't really determined their budget for the wedding. From my experience, the first thing a bride does is call friends to gush about being engaged then ask those closest to her to be in the bridal party. It's fun and exciting and you want to share the joy with your friends ASAP. Usually it's all happy rainbows at this point. But then reality sets in- maybe the bride will need her BMs to do a lot of manual labor because their budget isn't really there. I think that should be communicated from the start because I'm not a manual labor person. Therefore, I made certain that no one had to lift a finger for my wedding- myself included! Unfortunately, these expectations aren't always laid out from the get go. I'd like to give some brides the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't know they would have to ask those closest to them to do a lot of work because they didn't know weddings were so expensive. So what's a girl to do if they find out their friend wants them to basically be a work horse for their wedding? Back out in the final months? That's not cool either. Sometimes being a bridal party you can find yourself stuck in a hard spot. I've learned my lesson though- I'm not going to be involved in anymore weddings unless it's my sister's. I didn't really like the planning and work from my OWN wedding so I def don't really want to do it for anyone else- sister excluded. -

Ugh- I've been to a few weddings like this and was not even in the bridal party. My cousin's wedding, we (our huge extended family) were asked to make the food, serve it and clean up. WTF? We aren't caterers. When we all showed up to the ceremony they even asked us to set up chairs. I was floored. Then at the reception we got to serve the bride's family as they sat and watched us all work like dogs in the kitchen and left without helping us clean up. I was beyond pissed! At another friend's wedding, they asked people to pick up their ceremony chair and pack it up this grassy hill to use during the reception. I couldn't help but laugh. And since my DH was in the wedding party, I had to stay afterwards to help clean up. Ugh! So I def know what you are talking about. I get it- people have budgets, but don't have a wedding you can't afford!! Is your BF going to your wedding? Hopefully your wedding will teach her about class and how to treat people! -
Jillian Harris is the new Bachelorette!!
jajajaja replied to BachataBride's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
Dude I would have handled that GF drama so differently than Jillian. Tanner would not get a free ride to half dump that on Jillian. It's either a full dump or no dump at all. LOL I would have said "Look- I respect the right for you to keep your mouth shut, but you half opened it. Now tell me who it is. Free rose for confession." I do not think it's very respectful to dump something like that on Jillian and then stand there and not tell all because you don't want to seem like a snitch. F that. If he cares for her, he won't want to see her heartbroken. I really like Michael. He's cute and funny. I totally think he adores her too. I think Jillian has a broken picker though and will go for some douche guy. -
I'm glad everything worked out, but I hope it's a lesson learned. 1. Get things in writing. 2. when getting things for free, be more understanding and appreciative. Granted, this guy DID promise you a book for your time- that's it. No time line was agreed upon, so you would think you would be a TAD more understanding that you didn't have a quick turn around. Remember- photogs are business people. Not fairy godmothers. They def don't want to give up their time for nothing either.

I think I'm almost enjoying the tv show better than the book which is odd for me! I enjoyed the first season better than book 1 too. Namely because I liked the characters the show built- Jason, Tara and Lafayette. I can't say whether or not I liked the books better than the rest of the seasons because that's still TBD.
