And there are 7 hrs of unlimited flowing alcohol. I say you budget in some money for some bouncers.
  2. Does it have to be strapless? Watters Brides | Bridal Gown Collection | Style 1048B | Alencon lace halter dress with trumpet skirt. Sweep train. I had to google this because I had no idea what alencon lace was. I have seen some very similar dresses though. *Edit- Am I missing something? Is anyone else having issues posting pics?
  3. Ok Maggie needs to give me some commission for how much I have been name dropping today. Check out her grace lynette dress....MaggieSottero.com - Dress Detail The middle between the cleaveage is a sheer lace. I hope that helps with the image.
  4. Plus correct me if I'm wrong there is always the captain's closet right?
  5. Well I see you already talked to her....that was my suggestion. The big point is this will probably not be the last time the 2 ladies have to be in the same room together and playing a big shuffle board game may be impossible every time. I think a wedding is a very good excuse for people to put on a happy face and fake their way through it. Trust me, I do know what you are going through. My dad, who I am not very close with, stormed out of my college graduation party because he was angry that my stepfather was acting as "dad," even though he had been for 15 years. For my wedding, I decided not to even invite my dad because I did not want to deal with the mess....and then be trapped in a foreign country for days when drama breaks out. No thank you. I know this isn't an option for you, but I think it would be best to get ahold of the situation before you see it again. I would hope your FMIL would be a big enough person to put her personal issues aside for her children. I would even say that last sentence. Let her know how selfish she would be.
  6. Beautiful! I saw that dress and thought, OK you have to have the perfect body for this and guess what...you look AWESOME! Congrats. YES! Download more. I can't wait.
  7. Are any of us traditional? We are skipping town and running to a different country to exchange vows! I love gift giving. I think it's my inherent trait of spending more money than I have. Thanks MOM. You taught me well. Anyone need a personal shopper?
  8. Actually yes...I was going to suggest this. So much less hassle. Try looking at Alfred Angelo... Find the perfect Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Flower Girl Dress or Mother of the Bride Dress at Alfred Angelo. CasaBlancaBridal.com: MaggieSottero.com - Collection http://maggiesottero.com/images/dres...nt/J1091LU.jpg This Maggie looke similar Or this one from her destination line. Maggie has a ton of beautiful lace overlay dresses! Look through her collection. I saw some wonderful dresses very similar to yours from these designers. One in particular was from Casablanca that looked very similiar. At least in my memory! CasaBlancaBridal.com: Spring Collection/1820 I think this was it. Maybe....
  9. Ok I'm not a seamstress, but I will have a Nancy Drew moment. This picture looks like you are able to remove the below portion of the lace and shorten the dress and reattach the lace. I looked at this same thing on a TON of dresses because this was a huge concern of mine. I too was able to order my dress shorter, but they politely said NOT THAT SHORT. I think it may need to be altered a few inches...or I could just wear some heels which I don't really want to do.
  10. I'm getting FI this necklace. He wanted some MAN jewelry. Haha whatever that means, but I think this qualifies.
  11. This is my dress. I'm 5'0 so naturally it has to be altered. This is the first question I asked about every dress I semi-liked. The bottom of the dress usually has a applique that is hand sewn on. They remove it, hem the dress up and reattach the applique. Keep in mind, depending on the dress style you could lose some of the detail on your dress that is not applique or you could have a huge alteration fee if you wanted them to move it. Do you have a picture of the dress?

Awww...that's right. You weren't able to drink. This is more a question for Jamy since it sounds like she drank yours and her share! I know they don't have electricity, but the kitchen does. Under special request, can they have a blender? We are HUGE blended margarita fans and when I told FI we can't have them he was so disappointed. I told him a few shots of tequila would make him forget all about it. It would be so fun to surprise him with one though.
  13. So during the night once it's party time, you have to walk your butt up to the bar to get a new drink? I think I can handle that...too bad I don't have a butler service with silver trays. Only kidding. That would be pretty DIVA.
  14. Hahaha funniest thing ever. I love that he was happy to advice you on which picture to post too! So does this ebay seller that I believe both of you bought them from usually sell the necklaces? They are adorable! I have a bunch of sand dollar necklaces bookmarked but they all are pretty expensive. It would be nice to get them an assortment of nice little things.
  15. Ahhh...okay so it's all in that pink building. I love that they painted it pink too. So festive! That's where the bar and bar swings are located correct? It's hard to put it all together by pictures.

  17. So much fun! I love it. For the girls that did the trash the dress, how many hrs did it take to shoot?

  19. I think it's beautiful too. I love the candles. I looks so romantic! How many people is that seated for? I always see these photos but never have any idea.
  20. Susan- What's the age bracket of your crowd? What I would play for myself and my friends to dance to would not be the same thing I would play for my aunts, uncles and grandparents. For us, we are trying to find a bunch of songs that fit that happy medium then find a select few that hit each generation so they are happy. For me, I just don't want gramps sitting in the corner mumbling about the crap young people listen to, ya know? I want him to bust a hip. Figuratively.
  21. Fantastic! It's been a hot color combo for weddings lately...it seems like pink and brown or baby blue and brown have been for the non-destination weddings. I say you choose whatever your heart desires. Some people might not get it, but oh well. It will surprise them even more when they see how lovely it turns out the day of the wedding. It's hard telling people my wedding colors because it doesn't really make sense until you see it all together. And that's the only time when it matters right? Tourquoise and orange are great together as well...just in case you were open to appease. But then again, if they don't like it with red, they probably won't like it with orange.

  23. How many centerpieces did you have? How many people attended? It was hard to tell from your pics. I'm having a hard time figuring out how many centerpieces we will need to make it look complete. I know the setting is beautiful and decor is minimal, but I don't want the table to look awkwardly bare. That's awesome it didn't cost you more for the chuppah. It was just $150? Or did you get charged the $200 rate that they charge to include flowers? Either way I don't really care...I was figuring $200 so if it's $150 that's one way I actually didn't go over!
  24. Heck no! We are getting married in March and this is our exact thoughts. Ironically we are identical in train of thought here! The only problem is being able to afford the Vegas trip. Every day FI comes home with a print out of new rates...so funny. We already live together, so honestly when we make it technical with our legal ceremony I don't think anything will feel different. When I slip on the dress and have my father walk me down the isle and watch my mother bawl, well that's another story...
  25. Courtney- You are going to be a beautiful bride. Gorgeous pics. Can't wait to see more. I always love seeing pics like this because you can truly see what the people look like rather than those tiny little avatars or siggy pics. STUNNING!!
