Congrats ladies!! You both are wonderful!

I read in the shout box that you were engaged, but I didn't have time to find the post. Now I wish I had searched harder for it. That was the cutest story ever! Congrats Trish. Can't wait for you to start the planning. It's so hard...especially after belonging to this forum. Every day I see something cute and become indecisive all over again.

Hilarious! Loved it. Thanks for sharing.

Do you still sign a certificate even if you aren't legally married there? I know you returned to the US to be married, Ann. We are planning to do the same thing- just Hawaii-less. How fun to sign a certificate though! I thought we wouldn't get to do anything like that for our "real" wedding (to us it will be real.)

Changed my colors..
jajajaja replied to coming together's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Those colors are very similar to mine. Melon, hot pink and green. I'm not using any white though. Beautiful. -
I was trying to find ideas because I'm in charge of decor for my grandparent's 50th anniversary and I found this beautiful idea and I thought I would share for any bride looking for an interesting way to do some lighting. Here's the link for the how to: http://www.marthastewart.com/article...e_home_home_p2 Of course it's from Martha. Who else!

This topic scares me a little. I'm know I'm going to cry because I'm so emotional. Plus my chest turns all red whenever I drink alcohol or have any type of emotions running through my body. My sister and FI have been joking about this for months. I won't be surprised if I'm all blotchy chested in all of my photos. Just reading all your girls comments makes me a little teary eyed. I wouldn't mind if I could look sexy while doing it, but I'm afraid that's probably not going to happen. I'll just have to hide my chest with the bouquet or FI's head for the photos. lol

Kelly's wedding pics teasers
jajajaja replied to dragonfly's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Congrats Kelly! To both you and Everton! Such a beautiful wedding. I can't wait to see more. Everyone looked so radiant and happy. -
I do not think you are being selfish. It is your wedding and however you choose to celebrate it is between the two of you. With that in mind, the two of you may need to decide early on what's most important to you. Is your dream location the most important factor? Or is having a location that is affordable for your guests to attend? For us, it was the latter. We wanted our family and friends to be able to attend so we considered this while picking our locale. We tried to consider their traveling costs and found times that worked best for most people. For example, a lot of people had spring break off from work/school so we chose spring break for our wedding date. This was our preference though and definitely not a rule that everyone must follow....obviously. You make your own rules. Follow your heart and decide what works best for the two of you. Hawaii is a little far for 4 days since a majority of 2 days will be spent travelling but some guests may spend a whole week there- most of my guests have decided to spend a whole week for my wedding! I wish you luck. Hang in there but don't let the pressures get you down. The negativity will be there no matter what type of wedding you choose to have. People just like to bitch in general.

Also, whenever people ask me questions or need info about the wedding, I tell them that it is posted on our website and to check it out. This is mostly because I think it is easier than writing down information everytime someone asks, but also gets people to the website. It was designed to be useful, so they should use it! Ditto. I put a lot of effort into putting all the info on the website for ease of use for everyone so whenever people ask about hotels or excursions I say they are all listed on the website. Way easier than trying to search through all my crap AGAIN to figure it all out. I don't know if I have had a lot of use from my website though. I have 62 hits...but was it counting every time I went to check out how cute it was in the beginning? lol probably a skewed count. Not sure if it was worth it....right now, I'm thinking not so much. Oh well....

Don't waste money/effort on invites for people who have no intention of going. We kind of did that too...but we sent our STD's out separate. We invited those that showed interest when we announced our wedding was going to be in Mexico. Those that said NO right away, we didn't even put them on the guest list. I have yet to make my invites though...I only have 35 to make thankfully. Hope they turn out as cute as yours!

I mean Eminem can be a white dude and pull it off because he actually looks the part...but comeon, the mental image makes me laugh every time. I love how they are saying they were only playing around now. You know, cause Ryan Seacrest just randomly pulls up songs from random nobodies and plays it for the hell of it. Please...I'm sure Ryan got something for playing that song.

I thought it was bad gas and took lots of gas-x. I laugh now though. SOOOOO DUMB!! Just to educate...my surgeon said that your appendix usually flares up then goes within 3 days. So if you are sick for longer than that, probably not your appendix.

Can you go to a local fish store and ask what they'd recommend? That's what I was kinda planning on doing today after work. I live in a tiny town 30 mins outside of Salem, Oregon. So when I finally noticed my fish were all dead after I came home it was too late to go ask the fish store what to do. I was able to find some medication though in one of our tiny stores so I was thankful for that. I have a betta too...I work. He's soo cheerful to look at. We named him Masta Betta. Lol. I'm sorry Francois died. I take it hard when anything dies. I'm such a softy. My FI thought I was crazy last night. He was like...I hope nothing happens to your dog. I was like HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!!

We have had our happy 35 gallon aquarium for about a year. We started with about 6 fish, but our 3 convicts (which I think are a type of African chiclid) killed the other fish. We then added a beautiful feather fin catfish, which the pet shop recommended to us. All was merry between the fish- except a scuttle here and there. The convicts all grew about 4-5 inches and the catfish got FAT. I then wanted a pleco to help with some of the cleaning...we bought one and unfortunately he brought an illness with him. One convict died and so did my catfish. I only have two convicts left. I wasn't sure what to do since I have never had a sick tank before. I googled it and found so much conflicting advise. I did a half water change and removed my two dead fish which seemed to have fungus all over them. I added a medication for fungus to the water. I hope it works. My poor little remaining convicts are looking at me like HELP! They don't have any fungus growth on them, but I have noticed them sometimes lingering at the top of the tank. Has anyone else battled a sick tank? Does any fish ever survive?

Wow I haven't even thought about this yet since I was thinking of only like 30people attending. Hopefully this problem will be minimized for some brides by the new passport laws (not that I will ever hear myself say this again) but the wait time to get a passport will make people actually plan ahead and not book last minute. Most of my guests do not have passports so I'm kind of in the thought process if they go to get one, they must be thinking about going. Now I realize this doesn't mean their butt is actually on the plane though....that's a whole other story.
