  1. Fun. I'm joined. I definitely need some motivation and what I'm currently doing isn't working. How do you track your daily calories? Or do you? I see reports for it.
  2. This dress is amazing! You look great. The detailing and beading is incredible! I can't wait to officially try my dress on!
  3. So pretty Jill! I love it. Is this a Maggie dress? I swear I saw one just like that. I'm 5' too and I dread to hear the alterations total. But I'll pay whatever I need to so the dress will look hot!

She didn't get sick at all and I don't think she took any meds either. I was really surprised. If your mom took something, I'm sure she will be ok. I think Jamy reported a few people getting sick on her wedding, but they didn't take any dramamine (I think). I don't plan on taking any because I had a really bad reaction to compazine and the doctor told me to avoid dramamine or any other meds that ended in -zine or -mine. I couldn't imagine taking some to prevent motion sickness then end up with a really bad allergic reaction!

Don't know if the weekend is an option. Hmm... Marla, I don't see why you couldn't do a site visit on the 27th. Our weddings take place after the day tours and you would be part of the day tour. Plus I'll be there hanging out with my peoples. If we couldn't go do a site visit on days they had weddings, then I don't think anyone could take advantage of this free offer. They have weddings nearly every day!
  6. Thanks for providing contact information. I will definitely sit down and write a letter in support. I think it's about time Americans step up and stop allowing these injustices to continue. I of course knew racism still existed, but I had no idea our law allowed incidences like this to go unchallenged. It's sickening.

First of all, how can a tree be commonly reserved for the white students?! That's just ridiculous, and secondly, the black students don't need permission from school officials to sit under the tree. It's a freaking tree on school grounds. They are students there. Unless there's a rule no students can sit there, black, white, polka dotted, they can sit where ever they want. I too found this completely ridiculous. When I read the first part of the story I was appalled. Trees are reserved for the white students?!! Wow. Not to mention how sickening the rest of the story turned out to be. I grew up in Oregon and specifically an area that is not very diverse. To hear some people to use that as an excuse for their ignorance enrages me. You don't have to see people of different ethnicities to know it's morally wrong to be prejudice. Is there a place we can send letters to? I would love to write a letter in support for these students, because I obviously can't attend a rally. I had no idea we still had issues like this still going on!
  8. I went to school with a Richard Head. Everyone of course called him Dick Head so about high school era he tried to change his name to Nathan. No one called him Nathan. Some parents are so cruel...or stupid if they don't think about how the names go together.
  9. At least it's not Martha Focker. Sorry...Meet the Fockers cracked me up on this part. I don't think Jackie Mathey really rhymes. And seriously, how juvenile do you have to be to realize it does and then laugh about it? I wouldn't worry about it. I think whatever you choose would be great!

  11. Such a beautiful dress! I love it. I'm always amazed to see SO MANY gorgeous dresses. From attending weddings, all the brides dresses always seem the same, but wow, our DW girls come up with some beautiful/original dresses!

I would love to get married there but we don't have enough guests...or if we do I wouldn't want the stress of trying to make them all stay there. I hear enough complaining as it is! Your wedding will be gorgeous. No worries!
  13. Thanks for this info. I had no idea that LC made the cakes there. Man, I'm amazed how they do this stuff in their locale! For whatever reason, I was assuming they had a preferred bakery in PV. Well if they can't do it, I guess I will have to rethink if the cake is THAT important to us. This was a job I gave to FI and he mainly picked it all out...with a little help. I only wanted one for traditional purposes. I would like to have a little montage of my grandparents, parents and us all cutting our cakes.

Do they do fondant on the cake? Is it atypical when you ask for a different flavor other than white or chocolate? I guess I'll find out because I sent my cake idea to Nicole.
  15. I too tried Bare Essentials and loved it for about a week or two. It ended up making me break out really bad. Luckily I only bought the starter kit through Sephora. Apparently I have weird skin because it works out for everyone else. I now use Mac and it seems to work well. I really like it. I've also tried Clinque...didn't work well. My friend sold Mary Kay and guiltly made me purchase some from her. YIKES- that was the worst. My skin was so oily. I do love Laura Mercier as well. It's more on the expensive side, so I tried Mac instead.
  16. Ok I may sound stupid. I haven't thought about the cake much because I figure FI can do that. I'm not much of a cake fan. Does LC only have the option of white or chocolate cakes? Do they allow you to design the outside of the cake? I guess I wasn't thinking there would be limitations.
  17. Having your honeymoon after the wedding sounds great....almost like a "normal" wedding. Enjoy your wedding and remember that you still will get to have an amazing honeymoon...just delayed. I hope you get well soon. I had a major surgery last year and it was a stressful time period. I couldn't imagine planning a wedding as well. Try not to stress about the details though...your guests will be more concerned with your health than what you will give them.
  18. I think you should make your own invites. It will give you a sense of pride when everyone raves about how great they are. I'm doing my own...I couldn't find anything I adored that was affordable. And your STDs are cute too!
  19. That dress is gorgeous Courtney. I haven't even seen the other one but I think this dress is perfect. I bet you will have such a tiny waist in it!

I don't think it's ultra casual either. Once you have your make up and hair done I think it will look less casual and more bridal. Congrats on doing it alone too. It was so hard for me to choose. Isn't it relieving to know your done?
  22. I wasn't excited either Tara. I knew the dresses ran smaller sizes and I didn't want to go and become depressed on a day that was suppose to be exciting. I finally went and it wasn't so bad. There are so many gorgeous dresses. I actually had fun. I would just recommend not waiting too long. I did and ordered my dress giving me little room for any freak accidents ...like if it takes longer to be altered or shipped than expected. (I like to be prepared for the worst!) I still have a hard time picturing myself as a bride. But once you have a dress and veil on, it's a totally awakening experience. It's like "Holy crap! I am getting married."

I'm assuming it's me so I'll answer. If not, welp, I still answered. TOP reason was the guaranteed party. We talked to a lot resorts and it didn't seem like they had many extra specials. Every wedding seemed the same. But Las Caletas has a boat, 7 hr open bar, private beach, bonfire, and fire dancers. I love describing my wedding to people because they are all so amazed at how elaborate it sounds. We definitely wanted our guests to have a good time because we like to entertain. This was a perfect fit for us. PLUS it's so romantic too. I can't wait!!!!

It's awhile to wait but I'm getting married March 27, 2008 in LC. You will have a full year to see if my photos have desirable lighting. I too was concerned about this because when you view the pics on the Adventure Weddings website they have a vivid blue ocean in the background and then when you see photos posted here it's semi-dark and a grayer ocean. The photos were still beautiful though! My plan is to break tradition and photograph before the ceremony. I'm having my photog come over early with me. She said she didn't care and I figured she could just hang out on the beach doing whatever until it's time to take pics prior to the ceremony. I didn't want to see each other before the ceremony but I really want photos with full sun. It's just something you have to weigh out. No worries though. All the pics I have seen so far have been beautiful regardless of the lighting.
