Wow! Great job. I really need to get to work now. You have put me to shame! -
Bachelorette Party for Julie ( Julesr) today!
jajajaja replied to edna's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
So cute! I love the matching outfits. Looks like you had a great time! -
Holy Moley! So soon. It doesn't seem that long ago that you and Susan were chatting about being 4 months out. Time flies when it's wedding time. Good luck and have fun!
-
Happy birthday Kate! You are one day after me I hope you will find some time to have fun. I guess being so busy before the wedding at least prevents you from being stressed about your BIG important day!
-
Awww...thanks for wishes everyone! So sweet. I had a great day. FI had an event he had to be at all weekend but he did come home for my birthday and surprised me. He woke me up, took me to my fav breakfast spot, surprised me with a pedicure, and bought me a great red purse (I've been looking forever for a cute red purse and could never find one I liked. I guess I should have just spared myself and let him find one!) He had to go back to work that evening, but he did treat me to a great morning. It's weird being 27! I don't know why one year is that big of a deal but saying 27 sounds so much older than 26. lol

I had to call in for 2 weeks. Every day I had to say "This is Rachel. I had emergency surgery to remove my appendix. I won't be in." My benefits specialist that handled my FMLA told me I had to call in EVERY day or my dept. could potentially let me go. They also made me go ask my dr. to offer more specifics about my surgery. Hello- opened abdomen, removed appendix, hospitalized 3 days. What more did they need? Anways, off topic, but in a round about way- company policies are sometimes asinine. I hope yours will work to benefit you and if they don't, I agree with everyone else. Why work for a place that puts you through this turmoil? I would hope that they would at least have a little bit of vested interest in your well being. And right now, it sounds like they don't.

First of all, you are covered by FMLA. As long as your doctor verifies that you were incapacitated for 3 consecutive days, then you should be qualified. I have seen FMLA granted for those with anxiety issues as well so I think what you were dealing with would fit the criteria. However, my company does mandate that those on "pending" FMLA call in to work every day they are out until their FMLA has been officially approved. You can be disciplined for not calling in, but your boss can not refuse to pay you if you qualify for FMLA. We require those that file for FMLA do so 2 days upon their return to work. I don't know if this is a FMLA mandated rule or our companies. I would check into your companies policies and submit your FMLA paperwork ASAP. On the more important your note, your boss sounds like a vile human being. To not be empathetic towards your situation not only makes her a horrible boss, but a horrible person. Yes companies have policies and procedures, but there are exceptions to the rules (I see it in my company all the time.) There isn't an excuse for cruelty towards someone who has undergone a hardship. I think she should have been able to see the bigger picture and turned her cheek to your "so called violation" of policies. Hang in there Heidi.

White BM Dresses??
jajajaja replied to PVBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think its classy and pretty. You wouldn't have to worry about the dresses looking out of style a decade down the road either. White is classic. However, in that pic it took me a minute to see where the bride and groom are. Generally in pics they stand out since they are usually dressed different. Not sure if that's important to you. If not, it looks great! -
I don't understand why people use the excuse "short on cash" for not being a decent person and doing the right thing. I have a friend like that and it seems like the "short on cash" excuse has been working for a few years. I would pay for dinner/drinks or whatever activity we were doing and then she would turn around and buy something for herself. I finally just stopped paying and let her not go to dinner or out with us for drinks. I think it's important to bring this issue to light with your friend-that is if you want her to remain one. I think it's slightly unfair to be upset with someone and never clue them in (even if they should already know why your upset, but some people are just oblivious.) I would be upfront and honest that way she has the ability to correct her actions. If she just doesn't get it after you confront her, then you at least know how she really is and you can act accordingly from then on. Good luck Shelley. Friend issues are always so touchy.

I'm late too. I love #2 though. I don't think it's "common" at all. Very beautiful and looks great on you! Congrats Amy! -

I'm glad we are coming in on the beginning of the progress. No kidding! Especially since rates have gone up since I booked. I'm sure they will continue to rise. Lucky us! At least I got a deal on ONE thing for this wedding. -

I did notice they changed their packages. I didn't really notice a difference between 2 of them, but I didn't look too closely. I'm already booked.

Like fondant? I love it, but I figured it wasn't a possibility. -

And I agree with Glenda. I think sometimes doctors tell you things to be cautious. My mom had extensive blood tests last week and they said she could have some type of cancer or lupus. Results came back negative yesterday. For a week, we were sweating it out though. I hope you and Amos can relax now. This little scare will make a baby that much more thrilling.

I love Moms. They are the best. That's so great that she surprised you! My mom does stuff like that all the time. It's amazing how giving they are. -
I looked at Le Kliff early on as an option. Very beautiful. That is on my "to do" list when we finally get down to PV again. Happy planning! You found the right place- it will be so easy now!
