  1. Wow e wow. They look great Jackie. Way to have the guts to do it. You will never see my butt in lingerie like that. Not that you would want to. haha Love the couple pics though! They are so spontaneous and I love the story they tell. Very beautiful colors too. Nice job Juan.
  2. I love sephora too but I agree you aren't going to have a very easy time finding less expensive make up. The thing about Sephora is that you get to really explore and try different brands. Much easier than counter hopping at a department store. I agree with most of the girls- foundation is something you will want to splurge on. Smooth, flawless skin is ideal for pictures. It's much easier to find the right color than guessing at a dept. store. I think mascara is something you can go cheap with. Actually I go cheap (most of the time) with all my eye make up. Blush, foundation and lipsticks are usually my splurges because it's hard to find the right color. I personally love the covergirl lashexact or volume exact mascaras. I never buy waterproof because I have the hardest time getting it off- even with make up removers. I also haven't had any runs or clumping problems. I used to use Dior mascara and switched to this. I felt it had the same effects for a third of the price. Good luck and happy shopping.
  3. I voted but I think I made it closer. Oh well....you all are wonderful!
  4. I like the simple, clean design. I'm usally attracted intricate designs but I really think they are beautiful. Great job Paula. Invitations are so hard- in my opinion.
  5. Just kidding...more pics here: Victoria Glenn Bridal: Gowns and Accessories

I'm sure I saw it, but I've seen so many dresses since I joined this forum. It's mind boggling.
  7. Quote: Originally Posted by fogdog A similar thing happened to me on the way into Cabo: We gave flip flops as our favor and had a suitcase full of about 75 pairs of Havainas. I was expecting the red light/green light thing and, given that we had about 16 pieces of luggage on our cart, I figured if we got red they couldn't possibly search them all. Well, surprise, surprise, since I was last in Cabo they now xray every single piece of luggage on the way INTO the country! So, the xray guys says "what's in that bag" and points at the flip flop bag. I told him regalitos (little gifts) for the wedding but we had to get searched anyway. Luckily I got a very nice lady who congratulated me on the wedding and asked for my receipt. I think they could have been nasty about it bc the items could have been for resale, but I had followed advice from my WC and made sure they were not from China, had no tags of any kind, and I had a receipt for them. Technically, each person is allowed a $300 exemption and you can combine it if you travel as a family. We were under that limit, she looked at the receipt, made a very light effort to count the flip flops, zipped the bag and sent us on our way. Someone else suggested spreading things among all your bags - I think this would've helped with the xray, but we just had way too many to spread out! We also had a baby car seat in a box and they asked to open it, so I think boxes (vs. suitcases) do draw attention. Good tips as well. But try to not make things from China? Wow- it seems everything is made there. And if it's not made there it costs a fortune! Luckily, I'm not planning on bringing much....I think.
  8. Oh geez! I'm not shocked they got $120 off from you. Weasels. Seriously, why would you be smuggling items into Mexico to sell when everything down there is dirt cheap to begin with!! They can't seriously think Americans smuggle their good to Mexico to sell. But I suppose it's a good excuse to take advantage of tourists. When you pay thousands of dollars for the wedding, what's another $120? Only kidding. I'd be so pissed- that's a ton of tequila!

  10. Great review. It's hard to read it and still wait 4 months to experience it. The little butterflies are out in full force....again. I swear I can't get enough of hearing/seeing LC weddings. I'm glad it was a fantastic day!
  11. Beautiful! Love the kissing picture in front of the cake. It's like you both lit up when you kissed. I'm also doing the colored glass beads on the table instead of petals. I'm happy I got to see it in action! Congrats ladies! Now I need to read the review.
  12. I'm really late. Don't know how I missed this one. So pretty! I have brown BM dresses with bright flowers so seeing it all together really reassured me. Your TTD was gorgeous. I loved your wedding dress too! Congrats!
  13. I bought the bare essentials kit at Sephora and at first I loved bare minerals. But after about a month, I noticed I had started to break out. I quit using it and my skin returned to normal. I have really sensitive skin and I have to be careful with what I use. I break out very easily.
  14. We have one guy, two girls. It's been like that from the start, but I didn't care if the sides were even. DW are not exactly traditional so I figured why not? Personally, I think it's a little rude to ask someone to step in after someone bails-although his father would be a different story. To me it seems like they are only being asked to even up the numbers. That might not be the case, but my cousin did that to me for her wedding. I was asked after a girl bailed and I knew I was only doing the BM stuff (and paying for the BM stuff) because the numbers were off. I hope your ffil does it. I think that would be cute.
  15. Now you can book weddings on Sundays for the same price (before it was twice as much.) I believe that you can choose your hours more freely too. Any other day the boat will not leave the marina before 4:30 because of the day tours. Sunday there isn't any. Ask Tara- I believe she booked a Sunday date for this reason. She was really concerned with the daylight. I was too and when I originally booked Sunday was EXPENSIVE. I got over it because it's so beautiful and I didn't want to pass up LC just for that one issue. As for the partying, I completely agree with Julie. The party is what you make of it. Some of my friends have had the best parties in slums of bars. I don't think it matters where you are to have a good time. Plus the boat ride back is still open bar. I don't see why the party would stop once on the boat. Plus who couldn't party on a private beach with an open bar? That sounds like a slice of heaven to me. I also agree that you should check out Jamy's (starchild) pics. Her group had a helluva time!
  16. Although it may take longer to have him "officially" yours, your FI is still the man of your dreams supporting you through this rough patch. Not only will your relationship be stronger by the time your wedding comes around, you will also have all those that you love ready to share/celebrate your union. Well it's disappointing, just remember the better times are soon to come. I'm very sorry for your loss. Losing a family member is extremely tough. I pray for your other family members as well. Keep your chin up.
  17. And just to add, I'm pretty sure I know who you got this quote from as well. This is one of the first places I contacted and I was pretty frazzled thinking I would not be able to afford a wedding in PV and would have to change plans. So not true. I can't wait to see some Mayan weddings too. That place looks gorgeous.
  18. Exactly! I did the same thing and had a million dresses bookmarked. That all went out the window because I had a hard time finding the dresses in shops. So I just tried on whatever struck my fancy. It was exasperating, but after a few dresses you kind of learn what looks good and what doesn't. For example, I think pick ups are pretty but after 2 different dresses with them I realized I was too short and I looked like a big heap of whipped cream. Not flattering.
  19. I hate bras! That's the first thing I do every night- rip that thing off. I'm probably part hippie. Nonetheless, I think I'll have cups sewn in or I may go au natural. We shall see, but I think worrying about a bra peeking out would suck. Or tugging at it all night. That's just me though.
  20. Ok I'm totally biased but have you looked into Las Caletas? It's extremely affordable and an open bar is part of the cost. They have switched their packages around a bit, but I know for sure it's a gorgeous wedding that's easier on the pocket book than $26K. Plus tons of girls have gotten married there so you have a very honest review and insights. I think you can do a LOT better than $26K. That's a scary price to pay...especially when your other costs (attire, rings, travel, etc.) is not part of that cost.
  21. I haven't read too many posts from girls that have complained of being too hot in their dresses. I think the day is such a whirlwind, I doubt you will be thinking about the heat. My tip- Try on like 5 dresses before this one. I got so hot trying on all the dresses, so when I finally got a lighter one on I was like ahhhhh...so much better. I could be crazy and prematurely menopausal, but that's what I experienced
  22. Were those pink table runners something Nicole provided? I love them! I didn't realize pink was an option. Your wedding was gorgeous. I love your pictures too. I'm gald you enjoyed your time. I can't wait!!!!

Congrats on having one less thing to do!
  24. Cute bags! I adore that idea. I made my girls beach totes, but I love these little purses too!
  25. Very pretty. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those dresses that photographs well. Can't wait!
