  2. I agree- don't panic until it's time to panic!! Side note- I haven't had alterations yet. Should I panic? hehe How long did it take for her to alter it? They told me not to come in til the end of Feb but I'm was planning on making an apt sometime begin Feb. It scares me to wait that long.
  3. Ugh. I hate these type of people. What makes her think she is just so special she can act like that? I agree with everyone. Cut her out of wedding stuff- she deserves it after the way she acts. AND make your FI stand up for you. That crap has to stop or it may get to the point where you can't stand being around eachother. That's not an easy task once kids get involved.
  4. Ugh Jaime. You poor thing. I have been there! I had to have my appendix removed, but prior to that it was so much pain. I didn't go to the doctor for 2 days and when I went, it was nearly ruptured. Now I have a nasty scar because I was too stubborn to go (and fearful of what it would cost me.) Your health is so much more important than the money. Maybe cut out OOT bags or something because you need to get healthy! Good luck girl! Keep us updated. You're in my thoughts!
  5. I have done a few searches and have't found this answer, so sorry if it's already out there. Anyone know how much mini tequila bottles would cost us in PV? We want to purchase them for wedding favors, but I have NO idea what the cost would be. I was assuming they would be a little less than what we could purchase them here in the US. Plus one less thing to pack. Thanks for the help!

Being the kid of the principal must have been tough at times Uh ya. My dad had to expel like 5 students and we "think" it was them. They blew it up with a pipe bomb at like 2AM. Sometimes it was tough because my dad would make rules that even I was mad at so we would argue at home. Other times I would listen to kids complain about him when they did something wrong and got in trouble. I didn't affect me much. It was nice to have someone to borrow lunch money from. haha
  7. Holy crap that's expensive. I've heard the East Coast was way more expensive than the West. I understand the issue with FMIL. To be honest, if she isn't paying, I would be more apt to do whatever you want. My FMIL was really upset we decided Mexico. We didn't think she was going to come. Well she booked last week. Apparently, she put her priorities in perspective and decided it was more important to her to see her son get married. We are so happy she is coming because it makes me feel less bad.
  8. haha well that "school official" is an idiot- don't list your number publicly. My dad was my high school prinicipal. Needless to say our number was unlisted, but from time to time we got prank phone calls, egged, toilet papered, blown up mailboxes, etc. The wife needs to get used to it, because after all this, I'm sure the students will definitely do some damage.
  9. I love endless.com. I use them all the time. Not only do they price match, but they take $5 off your order and ship over night for free. They rock. These aren't very "bridal" but they are sexy. Jessica Simpson Bessie My mom bought them for me for Xmas and I get tons of compliments. Plus my feet feel sexy. haha.
  10. Ann, since you didn't do a site visit prior to the wedding, when did you give Nicole all your wedding stuff? The day of the wedding? FI doesn't want to leave our guests to do a site visit since we will be there a week after they all leave. I understand his point, and Nicole expressed that we could do a shortened trip by taking a water taxi there. That scares me because I researched that it's 30 mins by water if you leave from the nearest town! I would hate to get sea sick. I'm planning to go out to Las Caletas early the day of, so I was hoping I could give her all the stuff then. What did everyone else do?
  11. OMG. Those are fabulous. While I love the idea, there is no way I would complete a project like that. I'd get to bag two then get bored. Congrats for your tenacity and patients! Your guests will LOVE them.
  12. Wow. I think that's a really hard decision that I think only you can truly answer. It's hard for anyone else to say what a person means to you and what hopes you have for your relationship to continue to deepen. I will say that as I get older, I can only say that I really miss some of the friends that I have lost contact with. Some have been through huge falling outs (like stealing from me) but I still miss the friendship I once had. If you are able to repair a friendship and feel good about doing so then do it! One of my friends got married this last summer and I used to be REALLY close to her. We had graduated from college and lost contact. She had remained in contact with 2 other girls that I was also really close with. They were in her wedding and I wasn't. It was really hard to go to the wedding. I felt like I had missed out on so much and it made me feel even worse because I suddenly realized I was no longer an important person in her life. It was really hard. I'm sure your friend doesn't expect to be IN your wedding, but if she goes to it, I'm sure it will be really hard for her too. If you really want your friendship to blossom again, why not give it a shot? Especially if the reason you all had a falling out is a silly reason now.
  13. If that's what you feel comfortable in. Personally, I hate white dresses on me. I had to forego tradition on this one because I didn't want to look pale and pudgy. I got a light gold one instead. If you decide green isn't going to work, you could always have a dress that has some nice green accents. Do what makes YOU happy.
  14. I've heard that most people are respectful if they see a wedding. Granted they would probably look at you, but I doubt they would crowd in to watch the wedding. I can't say for sure, because I didn't have a wedding on a public beach. There are a few people that are plain rude though- not just with weddings, but life in general. So I wouldn't be surprised is some a$$ went walking buy in a speedo during a prime pic opportunity. Also, I think 2pm would be too hot anywhere in Mexico. I think most girls do a 4 or 5pm ceremony, but I could be wrong.
  15. Oh yeah! Those last two have the capiz shells. I found some faux ones that are pretty cheap. I love the bold look of it. The beads that she used for yours, weren't they blue tinged?
  16. Wow! What a bargain. I hope you love it just as much when you try it on. Free alterations! That's incredible.
  17. Well I already sent her a pic. I originally was going to buy the real capiz shells and Nicole said she would buy them from me since they are like $300 down there. I found some through world market that were only $30 per curtain and she talked about Kelley picking them up on her trip to Texas. I don't think that worked out. Anyways, I waited too long and world market doesn't have the shells anymore. I found some fake ones that I was going to buy instead. I was just going to bring them home with me and do something later with them- like make a chandelier or something cool. Robin de paula had posted this pic awhile ago: I absolutely loved it and instead of flowers I wanted to do the capiz shells. But they are super expensive! I just thought it would be great backdrop for the pictures. I thought about stringing fake flowers together to recreate that look but then it would probably get all jumbled up and tangled on my way down there. I did love Ann's canopy too, so I don't know! I suck at making decisions. I have changed my mind about the table centerpieces like 5 times.
  18. Very pretty! I can't wait to see pics of it. I love the pick ups. They didn't work for me though. I looked like a melted cupcake.
  19. Very ornate. It looks great and will photograph beautifully I'm sure!
  20. Ok here comes the dumb question- did you hire someone that already operates a taco stand on the street?
  21. Matches perfectly. Great job. After you get pics taken, send one to the veil company asap. They need to change that cheesy pose of the model. It looks like she's caroling. You would be a better model!
  22. My FI had a problem with a business that we had been fighting for months. We had good documentation on them, but yet they still sucked and never refunded monies they should have. I turned them into BBB and within 2 weeks, it was resolved. Money was returned along with a long winded apology that KINDA stated their fault. Idiots. Anyways, I would tell them to resolve the problem or you're reporting them to BBB. I would wait for them to contact you though to see if your dress is coming in soon. If they call you and push the date back futher, I would ask for a cancellation. If they don't report them!

She did a wedding for a bride on the forum- I think HLS something, and she did engagement photos for Raisinblur I believe.
  24. Ok totally random question, but I was hoping someone could help. Roughly how wide do you think they construct the chuppah? I asked Nicole and she said it varies but I didn't want to bother her again to ask if there was a rough estimate. I want to buy some faux capiz shells to hang on the back of the chuppah but I don't know how many I need. The rod is 33.5" wide so I'm thinking 2. Or do you think I would need 3?
