How do you pick!
jajajaja replied to BandE2008's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I just bought the first dress I really loved. I'm not the type of person that would experience an "it" feeling. At least I don't think so because I never waited around to find out. haha. I love my dress though and I'm very excited to wear it on the wedding day, and I don't have the "I never want to take it off" feeling. The corset isn't THAT comfortable! But I'll tighten that puppy up to be thinner! -
I need a cake cutting song???
jajajaja replied to chicago88's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
We discussed using Adam Sandler's "I wanna grow old with you" from The Wedding Singer. I think it's adorable and quirky. Cake cutting is meant to be fun and entertianing! -
Along the "Not my guest" line - what to do??
jajajaja replied to dayisun's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
That was a good idea Ticia. Maybe you could do the same as Ticia- sending them some type of card telling them that __ of seats have been saved and then just a short note explaining the capacity issue. It's so odd that so many people need an excuse for a vacation- I understand that completely. Some families may want to use their wedding trip to also double as their family vacation. But what totally throws me off is the problems we ALL have with guests we actually want there. Do they not feel the need to vacation? What's the issue? -
Yay welcome! I'm glad that you have found useful information on LC. As for not knowing much about PV, no worries. I have only been there once and my fiance has never been. There is so much information here I feel like I could sail my way blind to my resort. The internet in general is such a powerful tool. You should be able to learn lots! Good luck! And happy planning.

Mom's Veil - Whatcha think
jajajaja replied to becks's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I voted for hair pins, because if it's not you, don't wear the veil. It would be really nice to figure out a way to incorporate it somewhere. Depending how big it is, but maybe pinned to something. I'm sure your mom will appreciate you wearing the hair pins. I had to decline a family dress that was worn by everyone in the 80s. It came with a lace umbrella and lace hat with an attached veil. I mean who wouldn't want to wear that right? I had to break my grandmas heart and say no. I'm sure she got over it though because she's coming to the wedding. -

Not sure how to handle this ...

Yay! Wedding drama adverted. I'm glad they worked it out. Now what happens if the boy ends up not coming? Oh well, not your problem. -
Eyelash Extensions *post ALL info here*

Thanks girls! I didn't even know MAC did lashes. I'll try them out. I'm actually pretty good at applying lashes- at least I think I am! I wore some really obnoxiously fake ones this last Halloween and people at work asked me how I got my eyelashes so full. I was like um...you guys are idiots. But I figure I could fool the people the day of the wedding-I was just worried about the photos. -
Great job Heidi! It's nearly here!!!

It goes so fast Christa. We just started building our house a few months ago and now we are set to move in next week. Time flies while picking out lighting, flooring and granite!

Ok here's my attire planning thus far. I hope I haven't gone overboard! http://imagesforum.doctissimo.fr/mes...a%20royale.jpg My dress http://chemistrybridal.com/images/items/I13_l_201-8.jpg My earrings http://chemistrybridal.com/images/items/I12_l_302-8.jpg My bracelet engraved with our wedding date on the little tag. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...1985_101261839 My hair clip My veil isn't here yet but it's waltz length in a shimmery dark ivory (looks light gold to me) with seed beads along the edging. No shoes- I'll be barefoot. Might think about a flat sandal though for after the ceremony. I had my first fitting last night so I'm nearly done with the whole wedding attire stuff! WOOHOO!

Oh ya and I have seen some really rude photogs on the wedding day. My FBIL almost killed his photog on his wedding day because she was so pushy and rude. It was like she was trying to snap the required pics and get the heck out of there. My cousin had a photog rearrange her and the BMs bouquets because they didn't "look right." She was so mad. I think it's very important to ensure your personality meshes well with all of the vendors you are in contact with. If they seem pushy now, they probably will be the day of the wedding too. You don't need that added stress!

Sweet! Thank goodness for photoshop. I need help!

I had looked at them in the beginning. I thought every band I found did not enhance my e-ring but take away from it. I decided to actually get a band that I can wear independently of my e-ring depending on my mood. My hands aren't the most attractive, so I wanted something a little thicker but the men's rings looked like I had man hands- a la seinfield style. I decided to do something a little more feminine in hopes of de-masculinizing my hands.

Ditto to everything. I would also like to add that while politics and religion are considered "hot" buttons, I think that these topics can still be discussed if we are respectful of others views while expressing our own. We have a great group of diplomatic forum members that delicately discuss issues every day with well-meaning and sensitivity of others. Kudos to all!

Ok I'm thinking about wearing some for the wedding. I know I can't afford to have the lash extensions although I would love to! I guess this is my second best alternative because hey! I can afford it. Anyone have eyelashes they recommend? I have only worn fake lashes for Halloween or maybe prom back in the day. They were definitely the cheap ones. I would like something a little more natural looking.

But it really works? It would be so hard for me to pay that much because I have been failed by so many products before. BUT I would really like to have nice skin. Right now, I'm not comfortable going without makeup because my skin is so uneven looking (previous acne scars.)

I started using Ren Dark Circle something (the point is that it's suppose to help reduce puffiness and dark circles. I just can't remember the name right now!) I think it has helped but not entirely wiped them out. Like most of you this is something I have had forever! I use it morning and night and it is actually really refreshing. I'd recommend it but again, it hasn't been a miracle worker. I still have to use concealer. I HATE the dark circles though. I just feel like I can never go without some type of makeup because they just really make me look bad! I'm glad others feel my pain.

Congrats Leigh. We all know how hard weight loss is and 15lbs is wonderful! Wish I could say I have been that successful. I have worked out hard, but I think I could really watch what I eat better. Especially if the 60% 30% 10% ratio is true that your trainer gave you.

That really sucks- especially when it's FAMILY. But as we have all learned during this DW process, sometimes family isn't any better than the other pathetic assholes out there. Have you reminded them that they still owe a deposit unless someone else decides to go in their place? I would make it VERY clear that you are not shelling out that kind of money as a gift to their lazy, inconsiderate ways.

Ok if I were you I would definitely report it. It sounds like this is something you can't handle anymore. It wouldn't make much sense for your boss to tell the person who told on them. It creates hostility among the team and even more issues may arise from this. Some bosses are chicken shit though and like to make someone else the bad guy. Maybe even confront the tech too. Next time hear/see her doing something inappropriate let her know that she is out of line and you will not be keeping her actions quiet any longer if she continues to act this way.
