  1. Teehee. How cute. And how much times have changed! My grandma had a 17 inch waist. It's crazy!

  3. I found this one. They had color through chair ties and added a little bit of greenary. Instead of an arch maybe something cute along the aisle? Crappy pic- but they used floral arrangements next to the table. Another one using a floral arrangement. Maybe these will help you brain storm another idea. I think it can still be beautiful without the arch!
  4. Hells yeah! Love the saved by the bell pic too. Those were some hotties with big hair back in the day. haha. Where's the 90210 pics? I loved them too! I have a party tonight full of naughty girl toys and margaritas. UH OHHHHH!
  5. How cute! I like calling the baby a nugget. So adorable. Do you ever watch Chelsea Lately on the E! channel? She calls her little assistant nugget. So funny.
  6. A barn wedding would have been beautiful. We actually have a venue that is an old barn from the 1920s (apparently they used to do bootlegged dances there). We debated getting married there but in the end it would have been as much as Las Caletas to rent. Not to mention, I have a huge family too! It's way better to escape. I know your wedding will be beautiful. I can't wait to see a Mayan wedding!
  7. Thanks ladies. It's Maggie Sottero Tuscana Royale. I think it's discontinued. I can't wait to wear it though!
  8. Welcome! Is Conchas chinas a private villa or a beach? I can't remember where I've read that before. Have you checked out dazzling details site? I swear they have done some weddings there.
  9. Etiquette shmetiquette. It's also not proper to invite your WHOLE family- inlaws included to a wedding you were invited to. I think sometimes proper etiquette is a little outdated because people are just so rude and overassuming these days. Is it because everyone is narcistic? But I guess your damage control requires you to spell it out for those people. I would just send a letter thanking them for RSVP and confirm that you reserved ___ spaces in their honor. Then apologize for the space limitations. I'm hoping they weren't really expecting to bring their great uncle Lester to the wedding even though he doesn't know any of you. Who knows with people though? Being on this forum for the time I have has really educated me on how crazy weddings make people!

Crap I don't know how to multiple quote but Martha said the ones she made for only 12 cupcakes, she counted as 2 pts each. Maybe the 1 point recipe was for 24 cupcakes.
  11. And to actually contribute to the thread, I think that's a beautiful song. It's very moving.

If your going to do Billy Idol wouldn't it be most fitting for "white wedding". ahaha

  14. Maybe just tell her that you would like to do something special just between the two of you. Showers can be chaotic. Tell her the intimacy you desire would be lost and you would like that special mother-daughter moment with her. I know how you feel. My step-dad has always been there and my real dad is kooky. I didn't even invite him to the wedding. I hope my step-dad really knows how much I think of him as "dad" but it's not like I can have tea with him. haha. He is SO not the sensitive type. I think your step-mom would feel honored.

  16. Yep LC=Las Caletas. We talk about it a lot so I guess we REALLY needed an acronym. There is a thread that talks about the forums acronyms if you need help. Some still throw me for a loop. And yes, I'm so excited. Over a year of planning. I'm kind of sick of the planning and just want to teleport to LC right now!! Don't be afraid to join us on the LC thread. Feel free to ask as many questions as you would like. You might help us learn a thing or two!
  17. Ohh good luck! I thought about doing this but I was concerned it would end up in a jumbled mess before I got there. I just bought capiz shells instead. I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
  18. Oh ya. We haven't started voting yet! Why did I think it was like survivor and the winner was already chosen?!

I really enjoy the different opinions. It's nice to read viewpoints that you may have never considered otherwise. I really appreciate this thread as well because I really haven't done my homework for this upcoming election. You know with wedding on the brain and all. I know who I'm considering but I haven't done the background check. It's good to go in with your eyes open because politics is never what you think it is and no one is every who you think they are. We can only make the best educated decisions with the information we have available.

My dress was kinda gaping at the top and she said with corset backs you generally need no alterations. She just tied me up tighter but I think if I were to wear it like that the day of the wedding I would pass out! I was feeling kinda light headed at the fitting and I wasn't sure if that's because I stood in one place for too long. Help me and my boobies! I've never had this problem before being a C cup.

This is something we do have to keep in perspective, although TRUST ME I know it can really be tough sometimes. I've been let down ssoo many times during my DW planning process that it's really stung. Exactly. And I'm sure most of the people that don't understand how important this is to us have never been married and suffered from the "bridal craze." Personally, I'm close with my sister so I would call her and tell her that I'm really disappointed she couldn't make it. Maybe ask for a day that works better for it if it's really important she do the "girls day."
